Gaf, I think I like Nickelback.

I don't particularly like the band as a whole, but there are definitely songs that I enjoy listening to when working out, playing games, or whatever.

I've bought two of their albums and they always have 4-5 fun songs to listen to.

Their songs on their own are pretty decent, but when you start listening to a few more it becomes apparent that all their songs sound the same and that the lead singer only has one gimmick which makes them somewhat unique: that ridiculously raspy voice.

I don't care for Nickleback, but I like how Chad Kroeger always seems to be getting into fights at strip clubs.

Also, My Own Prison was a good album.

That's because Nickelback has some good songs. Saw them live once with Default back in like 2002 and they were awesome. Come at me.

Wastin' my time agaaaaaiiiiin. Ohhhhhohhh agaaaiiin...

I have a nostalgia playlist on Spotify. There's like two Nickelback songs on there. It's mostly punk/emo shit though.

Yeah, Chad and Avril are making babies. Let that sink in. Those two are populating the world with children with even worse taste in music than their parents.

Avril Lavigne is kind of hot. She's supposedly an immature spoiled brat, but still...

Also Photograph is a decent song.

Only Hero. Only for Spider-Man.

aaahhnd theey-uh say that-ah HEEEEROOOO CAN SAAAAAVE US

You know, I'm not a fan of their music either; it doesn't capture my imagination in the slightest. But I think that people should stop hating them, honestly. Personally, I don't even dislike them, although I understand that they offer little to nothing creative musically. There is much worse things to target than musicians, or harmless entertainment as a whole.

Nickelback is a no-talent sack of shit band that makes shitty generic corporate-drivel music. Chad Kroeger couldn't perform a guitar solo if his life depended on it. "Rockstar" makes me laugh, because what would Chad do with a trailer full of old guitars? HE CAN'T PLAY ANY OF THEM.

Also, can't forget this classic:

I am of two minds.

The hate-train for Nickleback can be obnoxious, they seem like nice and self-aware enough dudes and I do not wish them ill.

On the other hand, they are terrible. They are as bad as the most obnoxious people say they are. All of the songs I've heard by them(singles basically) are hokey, overwrought, glossy in the worst ways, cynically written and performed in a way that makes me do a continuous cringe so intense I pull all my muscles. I'm so sorry.

EDIT: Please don't throw things at them in concert you childish douchebags

It's easy to digest radio rock that somehow became the internet meme poster boy for easy to digest radio rock. /shrug

I'm not a big fan or anything, but a couple of their songs over the years I've thought were decent enough.

I don't like Nickelback or Creed, but I have no idea why they are regarded as some of the worst bands ever.

There is much worse out there.

I like them a bit, but I think Alter Bridge are much better, which doesn't really make sense when you think about it.

Alter Bridge are awesome. Myles Kennedy is a great vocalist.

I think it's the singers' try-hard "rock" voices and the fact that their shit all sounds the same. But yeah, there is worse. They're pretty far up there in terms of success to suck ratio though

I have probably listened to only a couple of their songs. Not my kind of music, but I really don't get the hyperbolic hate, lol. They sound quite harmless to me, so many artist out there that deserve the hate. I don't recall them being big in Mexico, so maybe I was just not over exposed to their stuff?

Also OP do find yourself having urges to drive gigantic trucks with balls hanging off the tow hitch for no practical reason while shirtless and wearing a backwards sports cap?

... Shit, I said I'd leave this alone...

I like to call it Walmart-Rock. It's mass produced music with a simple beat and lyrics, that appeals to certain people. It's not bad in the sense of "they can't sing" or the music sounds awful, they're bad because it's simple, catchy and mass produced (thus the "all songs sound alike" idea).

There's plenty of Walmart Rock out there, but Nickelback is usually always at the forefront. It's not the greatest thing to listen to, but hey...it's better than country.

I'll never forget the night one of my best mates and I were riding back to our dormitory after an all night LAN party when he started rummaging through my CD case, looking for something suitable for the road. "No, please God, no," I heard him mutter over the hum of the engine. I turned to see an accusatory finger resting on the sleeve holding my only Nickelback CD and this look on his face:

I still live with that shame to this day. True story.
