So what video card(s) do you use?

I have a Radeon 9800 Pro, but since I don't have the time for UT, Half Life and a random game every now and then, I bought a 9550; makes less noise, doesn't get as hot. Sucks for 3D performance, but I'll put in my 9800 Pro if I ever want to play UT or something.

ATi Mobility Radeon 7500! 32 whole MBs!

(I don't game on my computer.)
32MB is still pretty bad for desktop performance.
Windows XP + 64MB of vram would give you optimal performance.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
GeForce4 440Go (64MB)

That's about as good as I can get with this machine. I've had this laptop for three years, and I've only played UT games in that timeframe. With a lot of tweaking, it runs UT2004 great at 1024x768, and that's all I ask. Obviously when 2007 comes out I'll be upgrading, if not before.

DELL/NVIDIA GeForce 6800 PCIe
NV41 GPU 350MHz
RAM 700MHz (350x2)
256bit Memory Interface
256MB GDDR1 Memory

Not quite a GT, but a little better than a vanilla.

My old card that is currently resting on top of my monitor is a FX 5900 XT (at the time it was the cheapest 5000 score you could get on 3D Mark 03). My current card is 6800 OC with the 16x6 mod (basially a 6800GT with less and slower ram)...

Eh, the computer functions well for what I use it for (Dreamweaver, light Photoshop, Internet) and so I don't really feel the need to put a new card in. When I feel like I need to move up, I'll most likely just get an entirely new system.

I'm looking at getting a Geforce FX 5700 ve with 256ddr ram

Anyone know the difference of the ve model? It's $100 and thats about my price range. Currently I just have a geforce 4 mx.

the 9550 really isn't that bad of a card. I guess compared to a 9800 Pro, it would suck. but if you play a random 3D game, it works quite well.

Me:
G4 - ATI 9000
Inspiron 6000 laptop - ATI x300
Game Machine - ATI 9700 Pro
Server (retired game machine) - Geforce 4 4600ti
Extra machine - ATI 9550

nVidia GeForce 6800GT 256 MB

My laptops have a Radeon 9000-M and a Radeon 7000-M (IGP345) respectively. My old server has a PCI GeForce FX 5200 128 MB.

nVidia GeForce 6800GT 256mb

I put one of those NV silencers on it. It didn't cool it all that much more than the stock hs/fan but it's a hell of a lot quieter. Worth the money IMO for that alone.

Currently I have a 9500 pro in my desktop but I'm getting a new computer in the next couple days with an x700pro 256 mb .

ATI Radeon 9500 Pro (2.5 years now!)
Leadtek 6800GT

I bought the 6800GT a few weeks ago, put it in my system... and had some problems with it. After hours, and days, of trying to isolate the problem, I think it's a hardware incompatibility issue somewhere. I have decided to just build a new rig altogether. Nothing fancy, just a fairly solid gaming setup. It pisses me off that I blew $300 on a new card, thinking that would be it, and now I find myself justifying a whole new system because of the problem. And I really don't have the money to do all of this right now, but I'm pretty stupid when it comes to those things.

PNY 6600GT

Upgrade from intel onboard graphics! - seemed good value for good power, even though I don't really game, and I have an audio problem causing stuttering.

My video card is usually under the "discontinued" line of your favorite graphics card providers.

I have an All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500DV

I have the 128MB Radeon X300 SE that came with my Dell. Right now I'm playing Morrowind and Rome: Total War on my PC, and they look fine to me.

I've been told that the X300 SE is not a great card, but serviceable. If I were to upgrade to a performance video card, how exactly would the graphics improve? More detail? Better textures? More draw distance?

since living close to a heavily trafficed expressway brings about untold levels of dust and grime, i chose the best fan-less card i could - the radeon 9600. i haven't played much computer games except for Tribes, and enjoy the card's tv-out quality.
