I'm looking forward to watching all these eps in one long marathon session, freshly unaware of what I'm in for... just love the look of the style :)

Next episode is going to be fucking epic. Goddamn.

I expect nothing less than Stocking descending in a storm of fucking swords and shit.

The era of the gainax ending is pretty much over. Would be funny if they pulled some EOE shit though. Would just be bizarre in an over the top comedy like this.

EDIT: The first few minutes of this episode make absolutely no sense... and that is REALLY saying something at this point.
 
I'm waiting for it...but the impressions already people are freakin out about. Though a new season is huge. So glad to hear that. But I want to see it still. :lol

Everyone else is just as confused as you are. (spoiler pics)

I half-expect the next episode to just retcon this away ala the zombie apocalypse or dismiss it in some other kind of humorous fashion in like a couple of minutes.
But you can't ever expect this show to match up to your expectations; that's the only thing that's been consistently true for its run.
 
I've been waiting for something I could rub into Team Stocking's collective face for a while, but I dunno if this counts.

Anyway, some actual ?s:

1) Why does Panty's panties burn Scanty's face? lol
2) Is there a pun in "Oten City" like there was for Daten City (fallen angel)?

Also how the hell does being a virgin again make her stop being an angel? You'd sort of think it'd be the other way around. Also at least this sort of explains Stocking's romantic interests.

I feel like life in general actually makes less sense after having seen this.

Gainax really does have their namesake ending down to a science at this point.

The funny thing is that even with this craziness the one Gainax ending that pisses me off the most is still Abenoboshi's :lol

Maybe, although I don't know if you can exactly describe what makes an ending truly Gainax.

I suppose it's the feeling that you've been trolled in real life. So it's really a personal thing.
 
If your first reaction to an ending is imagining the creators and producers laughing hysterically at you, then it's probably a Gainax ending.
 
Holy shit. :lol Just when you think you've seen it all. Season 2 is going to be so so good. I expect more Demon Twins. :D
 
I imagine the demon sisters will be the focus of season 2, similar to focus being on the angels this season. I love this fucking show... I can tell the creators love working on it :)

That would make this the best troll ending to the best troll show, by far.

Supposedly there's going to be a bonus episode on the final DVD release though.
