Can someone explain how Emmy Nominations work to me because I'm absolutely baffled by of Game of Thrones. Here's the full list:

Supporting Actor: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington
Supporting Actress: Emilia Clarke, Natalie Dormer, Michelle Fairley, Lena Headey, Sibel Kekilli
Guest Performer: Ciarán Hinds, Diana Rigg

How the hell is Shae's actress up for consideration but Charles Dance & Maisie Williams aren't?

Both the show and actors can submit for nomination in acting categories.

HBO submitted Dinklage, Coster-Waldau, Harington, Clarke, Fairley, and Headey.

Natalie Dormer and Sibel Kekilli submitted themselves.

But why HBO choose not to submit Charles Dance, Richard Madden, and Maisie Williams is odd.

Ah cheers for clearing it up.

Not sure what's weirder though, Kekilli think she put in an Emmy worthy performance this year or HBO thinking Harington was better than Charles Dance...

That's pretty fucked up.

With that said, just give the supporting actress award award to Michelle. That one is a slam dunk IMO.

I'd think Dinklage would be a best actor nod, not supporting. He gets more screentime than anyone else (except for maybe Harrington). Not to mention he gets top billing in opening credits.

It's a popularity contest. Pretty boy on all the magazine covers, that knows nothing, is gonna win over old dude that has no action scenes and knows everything. I bet a large portion of the audience doesn't pay attention to Dance, but diddles themselves to Jon staring off into the snow every scene.

So do you think we'll ever find out what's up with the seasons in westeros? I know it's been a thing that you just kinda go along with because the characters do, but I want to know if it's significant...Battles in the snow, winter is so important that the Starks house words aren't even a boast about how awesome they are like most houses. I bet it's connected to the White Walkers

Yeah makes sense I guess. You would have thought they would have submitted Iwan Rheon for Guest Performance instead of Ciarán Hinds if it's based on looks though lol

Well Summer officially ended right? I've assumed they're in whatever fall is in Westeros(Autumn?). Can't tell if Winter means perpetual darkness for the entire continent or just for the North, like an extreme version of Alaska.

No I mean because the seasons seem to last for years at a time. I wonder if there's something up with that other than just being the way their world is set up.

I can't remember when it was but someone mentioned how Dorne is a great place to go during the winter so I guess the snows can only reach so far.

I have decided that Arya will go insane. Tyrion said he was making a list and Sansa said "a list of people you mean to kill?" and Tyrion was all "BITCH DO I LOOK LIKE JOFFREY?" Well, Arya has a list and I'm taking this as foreshadowing that Arya will turn into Joffrey. No Stark revenge coming from her! :(

Fire God prophecies speak of a heavy darkness and bleeding stars after the long Summer. Assuming the Lord of Light is an actual deity I'm sure it has something to do with it.

The show implied as much. I remember someone bringing up the Targaryans breeding within for generations and how it wasn't so rare for them to come out insane. Aerys Targaryan, and to lesser extent his son Viserys are two recent examples.

Every time a Targaryen is born the Gods toss a coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land.

The Lannisters are headed down the same path.

That list is of people that have wronged her and her family. Tyrion's list was of people laughing at him. You tell me which one is more Joffrey like.

I misspoke in the second part. She will turn into Joffrey in the sense that she will go kind of mad. Not that she will go around killing anyone and everyone just because she can.

I don't even understand this line of thought. There's quite a few mass murderers in this series that have proven they're not even close to mad.

Arya will be fine. She will be the whirling dervish of revenge we're all waiting for. I anticipate she'll have Lannister blood on her hands no later than season 5, and we will all rejoice.

And if not, I'll write a fanfiction or something, cause fuck.

What if she ends up befriending everyone on her list like The Hound? :)

But the Hound hasn't actually done anything to her or her family. What he did with the Butcher's Boy was wrong, but he didn't have a choice. Hopefully, Arya will realize that, especially now that he's saved her life. Twice.

There are*...Not usually the grammar police but for some reason this one is a pet peeve of mine. /shrug

Those mass murderers don't mutter the names of people they want to kill under their breath constantly. There's no way she doesn't go crazy at this point. Already wasted that Frey guy, saw that wolf head thing at the twins, was there for her father dying, and has not been around many people she can trust. Nah she's going to lose her mind. It was foreshadowing! Foreshadowing, I say! Refuse to see it if you want, but I will say I told you so if I'm right. But I'll also take it if I'm wrong. Your desire for Stark revenge blinds you! See the light! The Lord of Light compels you!

So, Yoren was crazy too? He's the one who inspired her to start doing this anyway. It's not just about revenge. Arya Stark going crazy from what she's been subjected to just makes another Stark casualty. Why would anyone want that?

I'm not even sure if you're serious or not.

also i don't care if your a grammer nazi or not whatevr floats ur boat

We hardly know anything about Yoren. He could have been heading there. He is a member of the night's watch. We don't know what he did to deserve being there.

Can't believe how many of you disliked the ending with Dany and her people. Not gonna lie, it got me kinda emotional.

I thought it was cheezy as shit.

It's awesome that she's a liberator, but it sucks to watch so many terrible things happen to everyone else while she's over on the other side of the world getting everything she wants.

I don't dislike her, but the whole messiah thing is getting tired.

I disliked her aryan whiteness being held up by brown people, because Dances With Wolves/Pocahontas/Last Samurai/Avatar says we can't have nice things anymore. Otherwise I thought it was a great moment that we needed. Hope.

Everything she's wanted she's been handed this season which stands in stark contrast to her previous arcs. She's only survived this long because she refused to lay down and die. She fought and earned every day she lived and seemed to be driven at times solely by the people who stayed with her out of loyalty to Drogo. Contrast that Dany to the one in Season 3 and it's night and day. Season 3 Dany has not struggled at all. Hell, she hasn't even earned anything this season. Any victory she's had has been the result of other people doing things for her. Everything is going her way and people are falling over themselves to please her. To me, that's rather boring.

So Game of Thrones Season 3 is officially the second most popular season ever on HBO.

Only thing that's slightly above it is The Sopranos Season 5.

A couple of thoughts after rewatching some old episodes:

No way that Joffrey and Tywin are going to last long. My guess is Joffrey dies first (by Marjery or something) and Tywin dies next (he has made a lot of enemies the last season)

The assassin from season 2 sailed to the east, if I remember correctly, so hopefully we will see them return.
My guess is also that Dany is done now, and will finally go towards the 7 kingdoms. Maybe she will be the cause of (my suspected) death of Tywin.
The Lannisters will be less organized when Tywin is dead and Dany will have no problem taking the throne.
Bran and Jon will stop the White Walkers

Just one problem with my theory: Not enough characters die:p

You make some fine points, but one of the best moments of the entire season was seeing that moment when she first took the unsullied and the dragon went nuts and flamed the dude with the whip. It's also possible that her lack of suffering this season is way out of line with every other character in the show so it's a little jarring.

I think what we're really observing is D&D needing to keep us informed of what's happening with her even though she's not doing much. Say, unlike how they treated the Greyjoy storyline.

I'm kind of hoping we get minimal Dany next season. I like the character and most of her supporting characters, but Christ her arc this season was pure corn. The ending of this season in particular was just. Wow. I actually cringed.

I too hope we get minimal clothing Dany next season. And yeah, her ending was one of the cheesiest bits of the show thus far, absolutely cringe-worthy way to end a season.

I kinda feel like the bigger the dragons get, the weaker her character becomes.

If Dany is to get all the way to Westeros with enough power to affect how things play out it is absolutely imperative for story reasons that she keeps winning. Any setback she has is only going to be temporary. I may be proven wrong, but until she sets foot on Westeros she has plot armor. Otherwise her story would have been a complete and total waste. And GRRM's style of writing may be ruthless in dispatching people but he doesn't do so in vain.

So I wouldn't bet on the Dany train stopping anytime soon.

Yeah killing Dany right now would actually be really ridiculous. Only way I can imagine them doing it is if she has a son first.

Was talking to the gf about this exact thing last night. There is no way she's going anywhere any time soon, it just wouldn't make any logical sense for her to be killed off with the amount of time that's been invested into her story. She WILL get to Westoros, it's just what happens from there we don't know.

I really don't understand the whole "she had everything handed to her this season" line either. While it is MOSTLY true(she didn't get that army handed to her, she took it), she's gone through A LOT of shit in the last two seasons to get where she is now.

She kinda did, I mean she litterally got the command of the army handed to her. The fact that she decided to do a double cross is another thing (and in fact it's what people hate in general about the Lannisters or now Bolton or the Freys). Her suffering lasted all of 3 episodes in season when she went from a rape victim to 'can I sex up Drogo even better than I have already done so far?' and then to 'Oh Drogo I love the shit out of you for some reason'.

I would considering losing Drogo and her unborn child suffering too.

What would happen to the dragons' loyalties if Dany died? It would be pretty cool if Jorah or Barristan inherited them. Even cooler if they went their separate ways and we got dragon-versus-dragon action later on.

I think what would happen is that you would have 3 wild dragons on the loose.

Gonna be interesting to see what happens when they're big enough to swallow a human. You can't stop a dragon from eating.
