In case they run out of food.

I had to remind my friend about The Lord of Light because of what was revealed this week. The Brotherhood follows him, as does Stannis, and his sorceress(after denying him sex lol) told him a sacrifice needs to be made and his bloodline still flows. She would reveal more when she returned.

I just hope Arya makes it out alive and well.

Stewards handle the ravens and other such duties.

Roberts son with Arya is the one who would be more appealing to her.

Tywin is so awesome. The person sticking it to the Lannisters better than anyone is the head Lannister. I think he is my favorite character. Every scene is so badass. Actor is above everyone else on the show.

Count me in as being confused about Theon's situation and the shit that went down in winterfell. Hope they throw us a bone soon.

Looking forward to the hound fighting. Beric mentioned hounds brother. I remember them sparring in season 1, but both me and my wife don't remember where he is or what he is doing. Where is hounds brother?

People mention Sansa being naive which is true, but it seems like the Tyrells, even though they may be gaming her, are doing it with her interest in mind. At least thats what I gathered from Varys and old lady Tyrells conversation. Seems like this is good news for Sansa, and I don't think the tyrells are trying to screw her over but really trying to help her out.

Speaking of varys, that story was creepy awesome. His captor called for a voice and a voice answered him back. Don't know what it was, but he knows damn sure a voice answered back. I have a feeling Tyrions skepticism about the supernatural is leading up to him witnessing something he can't deny.

Sucks that commander died, but it makes sense as it gives John an out from being put into a situation where he has to kill watchmen. Last episode made it seem like he would have to prove his side, but this makes it easier.

I don't see a problem in distinguishing good guys from bad. There is definitely a distinction in my mind. Nobody is flawless, but some characters are certainly more evil than others. It doesn't really matter because in GRRM's world good guys get the shaft it seems. Been waiting for Joffery's ass to die so long I'm about to give up hope. At least tits has him under control so we don't have to watch him torture people ever episode.

After two season of deadpan delivery and bitching about dragons, Dany has done something cooler in 10 minutes than she has done in 2.2 season combined. Funny to see team Dany suddenly jump 1000%.

One last question. What happens when the non-existent and decrepit collide?

The Mountain's activities have been mostly offscreen:

1. Went on a rampage across villages in Season 1.
2. Ned sent the Brotherhood's leader (who wasn't the brotherhood yet) to capture him.
3. The Mountain took Herranhall in season 2.
4. Robb decided to go after it in season 3.
5. The Mountain retreated, killing all the Northern prisoners.

He's still at large, but the Brotherhood, which is apparently a religious terrorist group now, is still after him, still following Ned's final orders.

When did we hear about all this?

Uhh, those have all been on screen.

1-2 were in S1E6, 3 I can't remember but a lot of Aryas arc happened in Harrenhall where The Mountain welcomed Tywin, 4-5 happened in S3.
Though the Mountain and Beric changed actors after S1 so people might get confused.

If there's one thing I've learned, no one does anything out of the kindness of their heart in this series. They've got an angle for sure. It might still be more beneficial to sansa, but they're working something. I doubt it's only to stop littlefinger.

I guess it's just throwing me off because we haven't actually seen him for so long.

So I don't blame you for getting confused. The new Mountain just didn't have the same presence.

It's to consolidate power. Sansa is next in line for inheriting Winterfell. Lorys marries her, he becomes the lord in charge of Winterfell if Robb dies.

That means they'll have the Tyrell army, The Lannisters, and the North under one banner.

That's great for them...and then the Winter comes and the White Walkers go on a rampage.

Then Dany comes and roasts them all.

Yeah what were they thinking with the casting choice for the Mountain in season 2. In season 1 he was a monster, season 2 the armour looked to be hanging off him :(

*shrug* There probably aren't that many guys who are as huge as him, actors, and look somewhat alike. Though they could've padded his armor a bit, the plain chainmail hanging onto his arms does him no favors.

He was in so few scenes in S2, it would have been better to have kept him off screen or as you say padded his armor. Sorry to side track the thread.

I think the latest eps was my favorite, so many great performances.

It isn't Roberts son thats with Arya. It is the mad kings. Don't you remember how Stark noticed that the mad king took a liking to that boy? That led to him finding out that he is that guys bastard and not Robert Barathian.

No. Gendry is a Bastard son of Robert Baratheon, first of his name.

Oh I just found out I somehow mixed things up. Why the hell did Stark approach Gendry when trying to find clues about the past?
I guess the confussion came from me thinking that the guy being shown in the beginning was the mad king for some reason. I seem to have gotten the story quite wrong then.

Nah, Gendry is Robert's son.

Because Ned was told Jon Arryn was visiting Gendry before he died. So he did some of his own snooping around to figure out what exactly was going on.

Sansa Stark has a very strong claim to the North. Person who marries her gets that claim. She's very valuable property.

Tyrells would marry into the Lannister, Baratheron AND the Stark line, bolstering their position and deny their enemies the same.

The difference in armor is that in season 1 he was wearing those giant shoulder pauldrons because he was jousting, in season 2 he doesn't have those big ass pauldrons on. You put those on season 2 Mountain and he'd still look huge.

Hound looks like a fucking giant compared to everyone the past couple of episodes. Head and shoulders above everyone. But it seems I remember him looking small compared to the mountain when they fought. The old mountain must have been a humongous person.

Beric looks tiny next to him. Might as well send out arya to fight him I thought.

Yeah, I believe Conan Stevens was 7'2" or something close to that.

Too bad they lost him.

I'm guessing unless Westeros has some very progressive inheritance laws I'm not aware of Bran and Ricon are next in line?

Someone mentioned earlier Renly's bannermen were close to 100k which is a number I remember hearing.

Yes, I checked. Season 2 episode 3, Renly says "I have a hundred thousand men in my command, all the might of the Stormlands and the Reach."

Conan IS The Mountain. He's called The Mountain for a reason. Hopefully they got Conan again.

I definitely understand why he took the Hobbit job instead of coming back for S2, considering the Mountain literally did nothing that season. I also heard that there were reports about him being difficult on the set of GoT, and he was very disappointed that a lot of the Hand's Tourney scene (from S1) was cut; apparently he had a lot of cool fight scenes that were edited down.

Conan was spot on perfect casting. Pretty bummed it didn't work out with him. He nailed that character from the first second he was shown in the show.

I see. Thanks for the explanation. I cant believe how I have mixed up these details.

The show is dense with information, and a lot of it is just mentioned once in passing and not really dwelt upon. I can see how you'd make that mistake - after all, they're both dead mean whose names start with A (first/last sure) who died in the same building before the show/books started.

I don't think Sansa would agree to marry into any family with Lannisters. Not without outside influence anyway. Robb would lose his shit if he heard of that as well and what would Cat think? Unless they are dead in this situation (Arya would be PISSED--I could see her revolting against her sister in this situation).
