Gamepass subscribers - do you drop more games than you stick with?

Just curious - do you find yourself trying games just because and dropping a lot of them, or do you try games that only look like they appeal to you and stick with them

Game Pass added 300+ games alone this year.

Ain't no way could I keep up with the pace.

Drop drop drop.

A huge part of the appeal is to be able to try different games without committing.

Why would I keep playing something that I don't like after testing it? Hell, I do that even after paying for a regular license.

I dropped Game Pass, but I think Indiana Jones was the only game I ever played through to completion.

I basically treated it as a demo service and it was of questionable value at that, but the price hike convinced me to drop it.

I mean yes. that's the nature of such a service. you can't play all games it offers, but you can try them all and see if you like them.

a recent example of one I will stick with is Routine, which I'd probably had ignored if it wasn't on GamePass.

that's the yin and yang of gamepass lol

I still persist with more games than I drop, but I have to say it was super easy to drop the Oblivion Remaster and Ninja Gaiden 4 having only spent a combined total of like $13 to try them as opposed to $140 or something.

I'd say its about 50/50 for me, since having the sub meant I would try stuff like a demo service.

If I ended up liking it, I'll finish it, and if I really like it just buy it on Steam.

Ball X Pit, The Alters, Everspace 2, Pacific Drive and Nine Sols I doubt I would've tried until big discount pricing...and I ended up loving all of them.

I only have so much time, of course I drop games. I mean, I even drop games bought with my own money.

Both Clair Obscur and Silksong got dropped. Not because they're bad, but because I found out they're not for me.

On the other hand f.ex., I ended up sticking with The Outer Worlds 2 even though I dropped the first game

It works out well for me 🤷‍♂️

Before I dropped gamepass I was dropping games 15 mins in.. but I tried hundreds and sunk 100s of hours across a few.
That was the appeal, always something to try. There was a value to that, just for me the price eventually outweighed the value of fewer outright purchases with the same money.

Not trying every single game that lands on GP.

But have tried a lot of games I would never have otherwise because they're there.

I try every game on the service. Easy to do with cloud. Just expands my perception of gaming to see more stuff. I complete a lot of games, sticking with the stuff I think is worth it.

I drop most games I play regardless of whether they are gamepass or something I paid to play. Most games are too long and I bail once they become repetitive. But I do drop a lot of gamepass games. I'd probably play gamepass games longer if I actually paid for the service.

I usually finish the ones I start playing to any degree. But I also have a large backlog of games that I want to play if I find the time.

It's basically no different from any of my other libraries on Steam/Epic/etc. If a game grabs me then I'll usually finish it but will otherwise just drift away from it. The biggest difference is I don't explicitly pay for games that I never end up playing which has been a big issue for me.

man, when i had game pass, i 'sampled' loads of games over a year & a half, & ended up completing maybe a dozen i'd never played, & several more that i replayed, before i'd pretty much checked most everything i was interested in & called it quits. what i did do, as much as anything? i basically confirmed that a bunch of games i always suspected weren't for me really weren't for me...

I don't know how people can start a single player game and not at least complete the main story. You people are just as much of a animal as the people who put ketchup on their hot dogs.

I've dropped a lot more than I finished. I like to think I gave the dropped ones a fair chance. They used to put more games that I finished a few years back but lately they put a bunch of multiplayer stuff and stuff that starts out interesting but get old fast.
Some big games I've not even started yet but want to play like Plague tale requiem (is that still available?)
Large block of stuff I haven't even looked into yet so don't know anything about them, so wonder what I missed.

I drop more because I play way more games than I normally would, trying more games than I normally wouldn't give a chance.. I tend to not drop games I just dropped 70 bucks on (usually a game I really want).
