Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Wow. Fucking wow. Who's watch did this go down on? What bunch of total fuckclowns divorce all their talent through insane pettiness?

No Metal Gear Rising 2...

Wow, Konami fucked up. Who else besides Kojima do they have? Igarashi? Who's basically been told to sit still and not touch anything till retirement

Or it could be an amicable breakup like Sakurai from Nintendo (Sora), although from the sounds of it, I very much doubt it

Igarashi already left i thought.

Daaaamn. So the drama is real. Sony and MS are going to get their wallets out. The age of Konami is over. Platinum to get Castlevania. You read it here first.

Watch Konami go under and Kojima buying the rights to Silent Hill and MGS away from them as they go bankrupt (like what happened to THQ). That would be amazing.

I'm sure Kojima's ego had something to do with this, but damn Konami really is trying to kill his legacy?, show some damn respect for the man assholes >_>

What is it about management killing the golden goose, over, and over, and over again. Ego? This is big, I don't see how Konami thinks they can afford to do this.

I guess IGA leaving was a sign of the culture there. Crazy to see, but it will end up being good for him and his staff I think.

This is a total goatfuck. I seriously can't believe they removed all the "A Hideo Koijima Game" from all the MGS titles.

Outrageous, truly.

so that basically means that MGSV is the last metal gear solid with kojima at the helm? that's strange and exciting. i hope he lands somewhere good and finally gets to start making new games.

Konami shot themselves in the foot, etc.

Seriously though, what do they have going for them besides KojiPro?

See

Where are you getting that from?
Konami could close its games division and still exist.

In 2014, games accounted for 15% of their revenue, while social games were 48%, health and fitness 35% and health and fitness 2%. Games showed growth YoY thanks to MGS but still, it's not their biggest business.
(See http://www.konami.co.jp/en/ir/ir-data/statements/2014_4q/html/006.html )

Not really a game company anymore.

Gutting all around. He's an industry bedrock... Of course he'll probably have every games company after him or even better he goes independent. I also hope the team also land safely elsewhere.

God speed Kojima Productions and good luck.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
I kind of see this as a good thing, for Kojima anyway- now he can go make whatever he really wants to.

Konami's turned to shit. Without Kojma at the driving wheel, it's questionable if Konami can even do well with Metal Gear without him. It makes me wonder if Konami's going to end up like Sega.

RIP Metal Gear IP (Rest in Peace)
RIP Konami (Rot in Pieces)

Best of luck to Kojipro. Go out with a bang with MGSV.

I'm fairly confident this will be a Conan O'brian type scenario where Kojima and his whole team will be snatched up (probably by Sony?) and rename themselves ƨnoiƚɔuboɿq ɒmiႱoʞ to spite Konami.

I'm... speechless.

Sad that it had to end this way, but at least, hopefully, MGSV will see the series go out on a bang before Konami completely fucking basterdizes it to hell.

But hey, it was a damn, damn good run.

Bye Bye Konami

Can't recall the last game outside of Metal Gear I played of Konami's anyway.

Will be interesting to see where Kojima lands. This could be great in the end if he hooks up with the right crew and can put all that development brainpower into something completely unique.
