Serious question - so what does Konami make now with all the studios / lead designers (Castlevania, MG, Suikoden, etc) gone? I know there's PES but that's being beat by FIFA pretty badly. Anything else? I don't even know what mobile games they make.

I hope and pray Kojima gets to keep the Fox Engine.
Can someone do some research and see who owns Fox Engine?
Zero chance. Fox Engine was funded by Konami just as everything else Kojima and Kojipro has made. It is owned by Konami. There's no ambiguity about it.

I think mobile and pachinko machines

their primary source of income is not gaming division.

So MGS 6 could be a Konami - Rovio coproducction.

MGS 6 : The angry boss.

I am glad Kojima moved , MGSneeded a and end anyway , now he can work ona an epic new series about spies, war and machines , I would like tonse him to work something on the 2WW specially all tha Nazi methaphisical researchs, or he can do somehting located on the future like Deus Ex.

Now i just can't stop thinking about Konami messing with the actual game. Censoring, removing and re-editing stuff, etc. Then forcing him and his team to work and support it two months post launch. That would be like literal hell for them

I just cannot read through 42 pages, so did anyone address within pages 2-41 what may happen with Silent Hills?

It's between Konami and Guillermo del Toro, i guess it's safe..... kinda

It's depressing how all three of the big third parties of the SNES golden era are now little more than hollowed out corpses worn by companies with zero interest in making good games as opposed to games that turn a quick ROI. I wonder what sorcery is at work preventing Nintendo itself from suffering the same fate: perhaps it's a focus on their hardware as well, which makes recent Nintendo-related developments somewhat worrying...

Yeah do they make any console games anymore besides pes and metal gear..?

Do they even have any more internal studios?

So I'm guessing Kojima will have to buy the Silent Hill IP if he wants to continue working on that project?

And the Fox Engine too?

...

I really really wanted Silent Hills to happen, sigh.

Oh, I'm sure there would be an absolute shit ton of people who'd back a Kickstarter if he ever created one. It would not surprise me one bit if it were to go over Star Citizen's final amount.

Doubtful. SC's Kickstarter success is an extreme outlier where they tapped a starved space sim market at the right time. KS is more of a western thing anyways.

If Kojima is going to remain in Japan, which is likely, there's not many places to go to get big funding for console games. Sony and Japan Studio is the best candidate.

They either are removing all easter eggs related to Kojima and the studio or adding even more.

This is by far my greatest fear right now. I'll be able to live without Kojima-directed MGS games going forward, Phantom Pain looks like it is supposed to close the loop on the whole story. But if Konami goes in and fucks with what Kojima has done just to spite him? Ugh.

This is the way Konami ends
This is the way Silent Hill ends
This is the way Castlevania ends
This is the way Metal Gear ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

All kinds of crazy stuff this year
Nintendo allows their properties to go on mobiles and now Hideo Kojima and Konami are going their own ways.

Seriously. I haven't had much time to read this thread yet because I'm at work, but some of you guys HAVE to be thinking this is just a massive, massive troll... right?

Too much effort has been put in and Kojima wouldn't pull something that could cause stocks to take a hit.

Jesus....no man.....I know Kojima will be fine....but thinking about a world where he's truly not involved with Metal Gear in any way....oh god what is today....

do people actually think that kojima gets to keep a game engine just because he named it after something from his games
Wikipedia suggests as much:

According to practices in folklore, knowledge of a true name allows one to affect another person or being magically. It is stated that knowing someone's, or something's, true name therefore gives the person (who knows the true name) power over them. This effect is used in many tales, such as in the German fairytale of Rumpelstiltskin: within Rumpelstiltskin and all its variants, the girl can free herself from the power of a supernatural helper who demands her child by learning its name.

Boom.
