GameTrailers, EasyAllies' Brandon Jones retires from gaming VO

I actually forgot about that, but upon reading up on it (sidenote: I completely forgot that Ben used to frequent GAF's EZA thread), I believe that was the final nail in the coffin for me as well.

Anyway, after looking at their Patreon numbers it's easy to see why Brandon is bowing out:
They were at an all-time low, but they're currently running a fundraiser so they're slightly higher at the moment.
Wow. Apparently woke people dont put money where their mouth is. That drop is shocking.

I've been a long time fan of all of these guys, and just like everyone else, I have my favorites and some people who annoy me. Jones was the constant in everything, super chill, solid dude who loves video games and loves the people he works with. He was kind of a fatherly figure on the podcast and streams and I always found that warm vibe to be comforting. I'll admit, the Bosman era was the pinnacle for them and the Glinny's Cauldron saga was maybe one of the funniest things ever on a podcast. Especially with the build up to the gamejam that actually produced shit games on purpose. That was some amazingly funny and interactive stuff. I subbed for a couple months just to submit ideas to that thing. Now this "murder mystery" opening bit is just...ugh.

I love Bloodworth, but I honestly don't think he has the energy and improv skills to host the podcast. Every time they would throw to him for a patron game or a quick-wit kinda bit he always comes up blank. If I were heading it up, I would put Ben in charge of the podcast and just merge FrameTrap and the main show into one.

Huber is my spirit animal. The passion that boy shows for EVERYTHING is amazing and makes me feel alive. I remember an episode of the podcast years ago where he was talking about being in a gamestop seeing a kid buying Metroid Prime and he goes "YO! Nice PICKUP!" with all the enthusiasm within him. I have great love for him.

And I actually really like Isla. Not only is she a top tier producer/studio manager, I think most of what she says is super insightful. I don't agree with everything, for sure, but I find her to be highly intelligent. I was a little taken aback when she transitioned but tried to allow it to be a lesson for me as I've never known anyone personally who has gone through something like that. I found that she's essentially the same person with the same wit and intelligence as before and it has opened my worldview up just a little bit. No shade being thrown at those who don't like her, I just really enjoy what she brings to the group.

I also really wish there was more Don on the podcasts. His energy is so odd in the most humorous way. I've never met anyone like him and he is so unintentionally funny sometimes. The Fantasy Critic streams with him are so entertaining. And him and Huber leading the betting specials last year (or was that two years ago?) was top tier.

Anyway, I hope these guys stay successful. They're good dudes and seems like they're putting in a lot of effort to mix things up and relaunch the channel in a way.

(I realise this is kinda off topic, but related crew none the less)
Nothing is foverever i guess, remember funhaus? not even that was able to stay like it used to after a while.
Like, the channel is still there but you are not going to get new videos with the classic group of Bruce, James, Ellyse and Lawrence or whatever, not all of them left but it's hardly the same that it used to be.
Kinda glad that Kyle and Ellyse left earlier tho, Ellyse addition to the Bruce, James Lawrece era of funhaus was really good and the solo videos of Kyle are still good.

Time waits for no one i guess.

This episode still makes me chuckle when i remember it

Roper, good lad.

What exactly did Greg say about Colin?

Did you miss the whole saga or just KF's statement?

Colin's Tweet and Greg's response. Completely threw him to the wolves for a cheesy dad joke. People who have always hated Colin for being remotely conservative (and he barely is, honestly) used it as a good excuse to tear him apart. I think he was going to leave anyway but that spread up the process.

Ben, Huber, Brad, and Blood.
I'd pay $5 a month for a weekly Frametrap with Ben, Huber and Brad.
These are also my top 4 favorites now that Kyle and Jones are both gone. I honestly feel that Huber should host the regular podcast instead of Bloodworth because Blood just doesn't come across as charismatic and as energetic as Huber, but I get why they aren't doing that. I think the nail on the coffin for me is if Huber leaves. If he leaves, he's taking Huber syndrome and Mysterious Monsters, and potentially Brad, with him and when that happens I'm closer to not watching their content anymore. Hall of Greats/Hall of Shame is still great, Kyle's Box Peek was great, Jones' VO was ace as always, and Isla's old content(in the early days back when Elyse Willems was still a part of the crew) was also great content. After she left I felt that Isla was never fully the same in terms of creativity.

While it's a potentially dangerous thing to do(seeing what happened to Giantbomb), I actually do want to see what could happen if EZA hired some new staff to shake things up.

the only patreon's i subscribe to is last stand media and easy allies. Iv no time for woke nonsense but i don't understand the labeling of easy allies as woke on any their videos or podcasts they never annoy me with that shit . Not like KF or giant bomb where i find myself shouting STFU at some their woke shite . as for Isla i never find her annoying she doesn't make a big deal out being trans which is way it should be because if it's a normal thing . Do what makes you happy but don't be trying impose your shit on every one else which i don't find her doing but other gaming sites do .

He will be missed, a big important part of GameTrailers and Easy Allies.

I miss the game journalism scene from back in the day.

I feel like everyone is vanishing. People come and go all the time. Sometimes you tune into some Gamespot or Gametrailers show and it's all new people, and then 6 months later, its another batch of new ones. And the old greats like gertsman and sessler, have soured completely.
