This happens a lot too. I remember a long time ago I realized I was starting to dislike a certain character I didn't even know about because I was associating the shitty posts of a member to the character in their avatar too much, lol (only happened once). To a degree, but if you spend enough time on the gaming side you'll eventually see that specific avatar behaving a specific way enough specific threads to judge them based on their posting history over anything else.
i can't your avatar seems too toughsay that to my face
but then people can't judge me by it chetYou really need to stop changing your avatar so much.
People with anime avatars are stupid.
I start thinking that Adam Jensen himself is a highly critical video game player that wants to abolish the hand-holdy nature of current stuff; also hates multiplayer and uses a controller for everything.
A little bit, yes.
I think what's worse is that I start getting a reverse association in regards to avatars. I start thinking that Adam Jensen himself is a highly critical video game player that wants to abolish the hand-holdy nature of current stuff; also hates multiplayer and uses a controller for everything.
I try not to but sometimes the correlation is a bit on the nose.
But I don't think anything of it other than laughing once to myself and then moving on.
Yup.Well, yeah. That's the image they've chosen to represent themselves. If it's tied to a specific company, it's a fair bet they have a strong affiliation with that specific company. If I used an avatar of a bicycle, you'd probably assume I liked bicycles more than, say, roller skates.
What is a dudebro avatar? Serious question.Yeah... specially if they have a dudebro avatar.
And dudebros usually have their avatar all wrong, with no background transparencies and stuff. But if they are dudebros, I guess they are not very skillful with computers.

Trick question! Everyone knows you. <3Do people that don't know who I am think that I'm a Nintendo fanboy?
See, that's where it goes too deep for me, I wouldn't even be able to recognise/identify a Call of Duty emblem if someone had one.A Marcus Phoenix avatar, a Master Chief avatar... a Call of Duty emblem... an avatar from Assassins Creed.
You know, mainstream dudebro games.
It's getting easier for me over time but generally I'll notice an avatar before the name and then I can more readily judge them based on prior postsI actually am very terrible at associating/recognizing names on GAF.
It's easier for me to recognize avatars.
I remember posters by their usernames. I change my avatar all the time so I don't see the significance in them
NO UTrick question! Everyone knows you. <3because you're an attention whore boom
For most people, visual memory > verbal memory.I remember posters by their usernames. I change my avatar all the time so I don't see the significance in them
But your last one was quite good.but then people can't judge me by it chet
it's an addiction
I suppose that explains why you keep coming back to the same avatar. It's a handy identifier more than anything (for better or worse), so it's a little annoying when people will constantly switch theirs.
I don't like to look too much into why someone will pick a certain avatar, although in most cases it can quickly let you know whether someone is part of a specific sub-community.
Yes, cat avatars. Why would you have a cat over a dog?
I lose all respect for them.
why?
What is wrong with you people!!?!?!
