She's awesome.

For real. I think he's just jealous that she got this scoop before he did.Sophia Narwitz is twice the journalist than this fuckin' pimple dick is.
I didn't care much for her but she was getting paid like 10 bucks per article there. She is. Hope the best for her and continued growth as a journalist. Sad to see her leave NicheGamer though
It was out there before she reported it. That’s a fact. And if it wasn’t her that reported it, it would have been somebody else the same day. Jason and Kotaku are just upset they didn’t report on it first and spin in the way they wanted.I don't know the exact timeline of what happened.
But in this case, this Sophia chick should have known better even if she thought ESA pulled the info and she posted after it was pulled.
I don't know if that is truly the sequence of what happened.
But turns out people figured out the URL (or she posted it?) and used Wayback Machine Archives to find it. I don't know how Wayback works (if they will willingly delete sensitive archived snapshots if requested?), but she should know links can be archived by Wayback. And since the excel link is still active, it looks like Wayback doesn't give a shit about deleting archived data.
Even if it is true (as she says) that all the ESA leaked info was already out there by the time she talked about it, she should have a responsibility to not egg it on.
Only reason it caught big news is because she did a video about it. Now every forum is talking about it and even Yahoo Finance did an article today. If she didn't blab about it, the average gamer and news site would have never known.
Skimming the Kiwi Farms thread, someone noticed nobody from Kotaku is on the list.It was out there before she reported it. That’s a fact. What? Did you listen to the Retronauts podcast over the last 3-4 years? Politics up to your ears. In a retro gaming podcast, no less. I stopped listening to it because it was becoming ridiculous. Imagine finding a way to bring up Donald Trump when you’re discussing fucking Castlevania.
Most likely black listed because of the early game leaks. The very same devs that they champion against crunch time with they fuck over when it is them that can profit.Skimming the Kiwi Farms thread, someone noticed nobody from Kotaku is on the list.
Then someone said the site is basically blacklisted as devs don't like how they shit on devs with their investigation reports.
I haven't listened to that podcast before, but thought I recognised the name. According to this video (admittedly by the alleged victim himself), Bob Mackey has been obsessively harassing Colin Moriarty, and tweeted about him 2,900 times in 2018 alone:
That doesn't sound like a well-adjusted person. Hopefully, things have let up this year.

Nothing to fear besides the crazy. A 7 year old girl is more intimidating than Bob Mackey. A less masculine specimen you will not find.I don't care how much you dislike someone, that level of obsession isn't healthy and if I were Colin, I'd be a little fearful for my safety as well.
Sometimes you can only laugh lol
Fo sho'. I always thought Jim Sterling was full of shit and a coward to boot. Nice to know he's a hypocrite as well. They’re all two-faced idiots.
i found the video funny because of the contrast to all of it, it might as well be them just acting and talking big but its still funny. They’re all two-faced idiots.

That's where his books come from, afterall.Schreier sure loves to smell his own asshole.
Really? because nearly all the content I've seen from her is opinion editorials. They at least label it as such unlike the blog soup that blends opinion and news on some sites but I'm pretty sure we don't need more half baked, politically loaded, knee jerk opinions in game journalism. We need journalists who know their beat well, rely on and quote experts, don't insert their dumbass opinion into every article.

It's the internet. If this 'journalist' knew nothing of the series or the developer, why the hell were they assigned this story?!
Out of curiosity, what news outlet did that headline come from? It's the internet.
Anyone can be a "gaming journalist"!
Next up, my 80-year old mom whose closest use of technology ever is pushing a calculator is going to dictate to a web master (she's never used a computer) the correlation between VR hand gestures and carpel tunnel syndrome.
Out of curiosity, what news outlet did that headline come from?
EGM's old ass Quarterman rumor section of random shit had more integrity than most "gaming journalists" now. Can't they hire a professional editor to assign these 'journalists' the proper stories to cover and not have them sperg out crappy headlines?
But... editors in the game industry are the likes of Jason Schreirer, who is a complete twat. So it's a lost cause most likely.
Whatever happened to the competent people in gaming news? Like Dan 'Shoe' Hsu of Electronic Gaming Monthly?
I have a ton of old EGM mags, and the stories and coverage was much more professional than what is presented as 'gaming' news today.EGM's old ass Quarterman rumor section of random shit had more integrity than most "gaming journalists" now.
Also scrutiny of retailers.I have a ton of old EGM mags, and the stories and coverage was much more professional than what is presented as 'gaming' news today.
Maybe because it was print media? And it still had to pass the scrutiny of an editorial board?
To be fair, I don't think all gaming youtubers are trash. Some of them actually do good work to keep me informed. Like Yongyea (pedantic as he is), SkillUp, LegacyKillaHD and the EasyAllies boys. Also scrutiny of retailers.
The typical modern day internet blogger or YT cusser trying to put that down on paper would never fly unless it was plunked in the top rack with the Penthouse mags.
People talk a lot different than write. And good writing takes time.
The net is all about who can get hits the fastest, so best way is uploading quickly written articles or a video of self commentary.
What the actual fuck?
Ion Fury’s final fight proved to be too much for me to handle. In order to roll credits you must survive against seemingly infinite, spawning versions of almost every enemy type you’ve faced so far, attacking in overwhelming numbers, while playing a sadistic game of jump rope with a swirling laser beam that threatens your kneecaps every few seconds and grinding away at the boss’ lengthy health bar, even while he remains shielded from the bulk of your attacks by a giant dome. After a number of hours struggling to make any substantial headway, I gave up and was forced to activate infinite health with a cheat code in order to finally beat him. It should have felt like a pretty unfulfilling way to finish my time with Ion Fury, but to be honest the use of a cheat code to beat a shooter inspired by the ‘90s could not have felt more appropriate. After all, when was the last time you played a game that even had cheat codes?
I'll give him credit in that he at least played on the hard difficulty. Which for these old school shooters it's really the default mode (like Ultra-Violence for doom, Come Get Some for Duke and You want some Wang for SW) but whatever. At least he didn't cuck out. Until the final fight.IGN reviewer couldn’t beat the game Ion Fury without cheats.
Corporations good, players bad. Discuss.
Ah, yes the good old fashioned you paid for tickets to see adds for our upcoming games but somehow you have no right to expect those adds to be good or at least for products you might be interested in. How dare you entitled gamers!
He's reading the forums. Not to mention the entire build up to that E3. The merch, the teasing, the rumors (that blizzard didn't squash at all and only perpetuated!). All of it suggested a major Diablo reveal and we got this.
Hey Jason Schreier (if you end up reading this), if you think that it is okay to belittle and take advantage of your consumer base and to publicly belittle your audience because they want some mutual respect, you can feel free to fuck off.
He's reading the forums.
If you want to see a junky "gaming journalist", check out his twitter page. Guy spends half the time like an infomercial at 2:00 am in the morning hawking products. Half of his opening page is him plugging his 2 year old book.
And pinned as his first tweet is............ "hey everyone, I'm writing book #2"
And here is is crying in the first non-pinned tweet about access. Looks like 2k bans Kotaku too from access. And he acts surprised.
Maybe the problem is Kotaku, press sneak fuck and not everybody else?
