How do you increase your online rank? I've played a shit-ton online (almost exclusively Horde) but can't seem to advance beyond a one-bar rank.

Any tips for this section?

I'm actually stuck here on hardcore...I'm ashamed to say. If I stay in the turret...I die...if I back down the ramp...I die. If I try to take cover on the rail on the main deck...I die. If back up all the way to the ladder...I die. If look at him funny...I die. Die....die...die. Is there any safe area on the deck?

So far it seems that Cliff learned nothing from the "Look at all dat JUICE!" shenanigans in 1 as every difficult encounter is preceded by a lengthy scripted section that you just have to endure until you die die die again.

Or he did learn something and he is giggling his little ass off at me. *shakes fist*

edit: I wish Dom would go up on the turret and take one for the team.

I just focused the chain gun where I knew the Brumak was going to show up. Then started firing immediately when they yell "BRUMAK!!!!"

I only died once on hardcore.

Why did Epic exclude Reavers from Horde mode? I think the addition of reavers would make Horde so much better, and far more interesting because they could force you to move out of the spot you're held up in.

You have to win matches against people of a higher rank than you. Horde doesn't count, because you're playing bots.

I have played this game religiously since day 1, I'd say that I easily have already over 100 hours of playtime and I'm at 6,600 kills. :/

Of course, I've yet to whore the (last chapter spoilers -->)
Brumak riding section where you rack up about 100+ kills in less than a minute

Eh, I will get the achievement the old fashion way.

The Execution achievement is driving me crazy. Wish would tell me which was missing.

Yeah, that drove me insane after I realized that the single shot pistol (forget what it's called) has its own special execution (hit the guy over the head and twirl the gun around).

Oh shit, you did send me a voice message last night didn't you? I just remembered that, I never got to listen to it because me and ThirdEngine were busy chugging away at our Insane co-op. If I had to guess though, you probably still need the Boomshield execution, everybody (including me) seems to not think of that one.

There are a few videos that show all the ones you need, I was missing the "B" with a Torque Bow...you just hit them, it's dumb. I do wish it told me the 1 map I haven't won on because I could've sworn a won once on all of them.

I have the Boomshield execution. Actually got a few of it.

I think I figured it out. Seems I may be missing the Torque Bow with B which just seems to be a hit.

I think the Torque Bow and Longshot both have a unique B execution, even if they're basic melee attacks.

I think they had a more detailed one where you pried the guy's head off, but they took that out. either I heard that or invented it in my own imagination.

That is seriously the sickest fucking execution in the game, I love it. Sadly, it doesn't get done enough by me.. I usually use up the Torque quick then drop it for the nearest Lancer/HB.

I don't even consider that DLC. I love the fact that Epic included 5 maps from the first game. But it's really just a marketing tactic to get people to buy the game new instead of used. Originally, maps like Gridlock and Subway were planned to be included in Gears 2, until they decided to go with the Flashback Map Pack direction.

Probably Boom Shield one. A lot of people are missing that one.

Couldn't agree more. And the possibilities for extending this game mode through DLC... awesome.

I can already imagine a level built specifically for Horde that would work kindof like Minas Tirith in LOTR, with 5 levels of defensive outer walls on a high slope. Survive 10 waves, and a giant door opens up letting you retreat one level further back. This happens five times in all. The weapon spawns are tied to the level you're in, with the big power weapons available only at the later levels. Survive until the final waves where you face off with Reavers and Brumaks in a last ditch defense.

C'mon Epic. You know you want to do it. You've made addicts out of us all.

I jumped into a random player match earlier, and it was full of people talking about how much they hated the game and going on and on about it. Why would people spend time playing the game if they think it's trash? I don't get it.
So much complaining about the game, people either need to accept the faults of the game and learn to counter them, or move the fuck on!

Ok, 1 question.

Me and my friend are in the lobby for Wingman, I invited him..so I guess I'm the host. Now, I have DSL 768k/128k internet..and am going to upgrade to FiOS 10mb/2mb soon, but for the time being I'm sticking with DSL. So I start up a search to find a match and we're waiting for 3 minutes and STILL no game.

I ask him to be the host, since he has something like Comcast Cable 6mb/1mb and of course, he finds us a match within 10 seconds. WHY?!! Is it just because of his internet connection? I ask you guys, when I get FiOS, will I be able to find matches that fast?

Or does it have something to do with NAT being open/close blah blah...I don't know if mine's opened or closed :(

Check your NAT, back when I had DSL I rarely had problems with any game.
