Excellent. Was hoping for new maps with dlc 4.
Looks like day one, hopefully they took out all the mantling you need to do to get across the map because the corridor fighting was terrible in gears 2

if you look close you can see a raven in the center of the map. plus the upper sections seem to be absent. i do think it's raven down but tweaked for size. much more room than the original

FUCK me. Didn't realize there was another DLC coming in Season Pass when I bought Fenix Rising a la carte. I guess the Booster Pack didn't count.

DLC 4 is looking good though, just from Raven Down I'd be sold.
Ahh Raven Down - good times, good times. Yet, there wasn't room for a mortar on the original, so I have to assume they've made the map a little larger. Anxious to see it in action though.
Have a question for you though Gears Gaf, but some background first: Saturday, as I have previously noted, I saw Overpass multiple times (even though it was supposedly removed from the rotation). Sunday, I had some strange connection shit going on. Monday, I experienced at least two "host migrations" and last night I saw overpass 3+ times, had two host migrations, and twice ran into the "your character is not available" even though I had NOT restarted match making.
I would guess that all these things mean I've been playing on P2P since at LEAST Saturday. WTF? Are the dedi's down? What sins have I committed that the Gears gods wont grant me access to dedicated servers?

im going to make a wild prediction and say the last dlc will be for beast. maybe filling out the empty boxes in the beast selection and giving us three maps. kinda like how they did the horde command pack, three maps for the buyers then the booster will add two additional maps.
even as a season pass holder i want Epic to give the maps to everyone for use in MP versus. it means no more splitting up of the playlists and smoother matchmaking. how will the playlist look after dlc4? at this rate they'll need four separate playlist options to cover all the combinations.

They'll most likely still have the same playlists they have now, either way.
Player's Choice for those who only have the free maps, and then the other playlists are for those who have all maps.
I really hope not, beast is such a dead mode. It's too easy. I tried to play a game last night and it took me almost 10 minutes to get into one.
I always suspected that Beast Mode would be the first to pass away in Gears 3. It had the least depth, and even I supposed that I'd wrangled all the enjoyment I could out of it. It's a race to the Berserker every time. Rinse & repeat.
I haven't played in ages given the lack of my Xbox Live Gold status. Since Gears 3 and Assassin's Creed MP was the only online I played I didn't think it was worth paying $40-$60 for the 'privilege' any longer.
Regardless, it's awesome seeing this thread graduate into an OT2 here shortly.

4 more posts to be exact. And yeah I agree, beast is kind of an afterthought. I don't think it deserves dlc personally.

Beast Mode is one of those things you play for like 15 minutes. "Oh hey, this is kinda fun and silly", then you never touch it again once you get the unlockable characters and achievements.
I never really even had the desire to beat it on insane. The only reason I played it was for the insta gib mutator and that was only cool for a short period itself.
Had much better matches last night that included all the Fenix rising maps and almost no craziness. Good stuff.
Last match however was on Mercy and the game started us 8 vs 2. 4 guys (+me) on my team and three bots, vs two unlucky human players. Kudos to them for sticking it out though, I probably would have quit. Was a little funny because everywhere you looked there was some COG running around shooting at those two!

Best mode is only fun for me if my friends and I decide to try and beat the Leaderboards.
Then it comes down to a matter of 1 or 2 seconds being a major thing, and you actually have to work your ass off to do everything right. Other than that it's just a join and screw around mode.

So I've put in gears for the first time in a while yesterday (and the day before). I decided to buy the season pass to get all the DLC.
I had a lot of fun playing, but there are a few problems:
1. Being out of practice, I'm not as good as I used to be....and I wasn't all that good in the first place.
2. Getting matched up against a team is essentially gang rape for me.
3. Why can't I play deathmatch in Alpha anymore?
Oh, and I just realized this is the 200th page. I'm right on time for a new OT. Awesome, it could be the ideal time for me to get back into it.
I had a lot of fun playing, but there are a few problems:

Alpha has been made KoTH and Execution only. It's been that way for a while now.
Mostly because Alpha is Epic's competitive playlist, and the major competitive event for Gears (Hypefestation) uses Execution and KoTH.
It makes more sense to use more competitive modes in a competitive playlist to be honest.

Oh don't get me wrong, I loved Raven Down, I just don't think it'll fit 3.
