DC Comics announced at their DC Entertainment-All Access panel Sunday at Fan Expo Toronto that a new Justice League will be forming in 2013.
Justice League of America will be an ongoing series written by Geoff Johns and drawn by David Finch.

"This is a very different kind of team book,” said Geoff Johns in a press release. “On first glance, people might think the heroes of the Justice League of America stand in the shadows of Superman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League, but Green Arrow, Katana, Martian Manhunter, the new Green Lantern, Stargirl, Vibe, Hawkman and Catwoman thrive in the shadows.

“They're underdogs who have everything to prove and something to lose. They're a team of unlikely heroes who will help one another discover they're as A-List as anybody -- yes, even Vibe. Though getting there won't be easy.

“Why they're formed, why each member joins, what they're after and who the society of villains is they're trying to take apart will all be clear in the first issue when it hits early 2013. David and I are really focused on delving deep into what it's like to not be a member of the big seven and why, sometimes, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.”

Wrongforum lolol etc.

Anyway, thanks DC. This is exactly what nobody wanted. They finally get the big 7 back together and then go right back to editorial territorialism, Bat office etc. not letting anybody else play with their toys. Marvel got this right, why can't DC? Heck, they HAD it right.

Probably so that the eventual JLA movie can happen without Batman and Superman who seem to have their stories set in the movie trilogies. Plus it's not like the Avengers from Marvel were that popular when they started (before the first Iron Man movie) to the wider public so DC probably thinks they can do this as well with the lesser known heroes.

Still find the concept of JLA silly when JL exists.

Also thats the ridiculous new Green Lantern that carries an actual gun right? lool

Catwoman and a guy with guns aren't exactly the type of people who are supposed to deal with threats bigger than one hero, at least Batman has his wits.

Thats the one lol

EDIT:
Nah. The companies put them out there for promotional purposes, we use them in the comic threads all the time. Does he actually have the gun all the time, or is it part of some stunt?

See above lol. I have no knowledge of this new Lantern past that comic cover really, so I cant answer that question hehe

Is posting comic covers against the rules as scans? If not I can post the cover for you.

Green Lantern is hovering. I think the guy with the guns is supposed to be Steve Trevor (their government liaison).

Edit: Hmm, I never saw that cover where GL has a gun. Seems odd.

When DC did their reboot last year there seemed to be consious decision to redesign their charecters to be more appealing to a modern generation and DC's mind that meant giving everyone guns and hoods.

I like the team. It's a grab-bag but it could work - I'd probably cut Catwoman or Katana. Maybe Hawkman. I'm interested in the new Green Lantern but come on a gun? And a handgun at that. I mean, some sort of heavy weapon I could see some use for, but what good is a handgun?

But come on, Vibe, Martian Manhunter, Steve Trevor and Stargirl? That's ridiculous. I'm on board.

Been catching up on the current Justice League run. At least this time they might have an artist that can draw more than 6 issues a year.

I can't say I liked the Johns/Lee run. Hell, the Shazam backstory was more interesting.

Has all powerful ring that draws energy from your willpower. Holding a gun with limited ammunition that probably won't work against anything besides non-powered human beings without armor. Cool.

Geoff explained the gun is for when/if the GL ring looses battery charge. He wants Baz to stand out from the other Green Lanterns by being the one that plans ahead.

That sounds like a terrible idea. I want me more Batman, Superman, and even Wonder Woman if they can do it right. The rest blah.
