we people in Germany have been reporting this for a while now, some thought was hyperbole but that's how it has always looked. Always
this was my local Saturn in Bremen a couple of weeks after Titanfall launched
it has sold some since but not that much.
I can support that claim. While our Saturn, MediaMarkt, Müller and so on don't stack as many consoles in general, PS4 seems to be in high demand, people go to the WiiU kiosks to play some Mario Kart (few months earlier, those WiiU stands were being ignored) and the space for Xbone games isn't bigger or better promoted in comparison to Nintendo's shelf space. I think we don't even have a Xbone stand to try it out in our local electronics store.
While I'm in my personal little country of anecdotal evidence, I might add that I currently personally know...
- more PC (or Mac) gamers than I can keep count of... (basically almost everyone I know who plays games, myself included)
- 3 people with PS4s and some who are on the edge or waiting (myself included. MGS5 or DoA 6 will do the trick
)
- 4 people with WiiU (myself included) and one who's still on the edge
- 0 people with Xbone (with some having interest in 1, maybe 2 games but not enough to warrant a purchase)
(- bonus section: 6 people with a 3DS, 4 with a Vita)
additional info: I know some people with 360s, myself included, but way more who own PS3s. I guess maybe Germans just get most of the non-exclusive Xbox games on PC and don't care so much about Halo anymore. Dunno. The two people I know who are slightly interested in the Xbone are so mostly because of Forza. Doesn't help that many of the bestselling franchises of the Xbox-brand did not release in Germany because of violence (I remember the mass-importing of Gears of War 1
Dead Rising 1 (and 2) are forbidden to even buy or sell, Dead Rising 3 is on the German index meaning there can be no advertisement and it can not be sold openly), had terrible localisations which make 90s JRPG dubs seem oscar-worthy in comparison (especially looking at the Halo series here) or were only released cut and censored.
