They want people to buy games.

Downloading demo's only costs them money.

Ya, this is kind of stupid. Almost every game has a downloadable demo, just download them, play them and see which one you like. Done.

Of what I've played so far, DOA4 and Kameo are probably the best. Save additional money for future or non-360 games.

kameo is underappreciated. You have no idea how many people pick up Madden 360 (which is a huge turd), and turn down Kameo because it is "kiddy."

I don't know about anyone else, but impaling guys on my spiky back and later using them as spears to kill their comrades isn't very kiddy.

Geometry Wars is an absolute must purchase if you like games like Robotron and Smash TV. To this day, I still play this game religiously...it's that good. I'm at 2.3 million points now in this game....woot!

Here you go... this is how I would spend the $160.

Extra wireless $50
P&C Kit $20
2 - 1600 point cards $40
Xbox Live $50
If you already have XBL, get one of the $50 MS games

With the 3200 points, get GeoWars (400), Outpost Kaloki X (800), Marble Blast Ultra (800), and spend the other 1200 on whatever else, but those are the top 3 XBLA games.

Agreed. Get Kameo! I want a sequel!

Actually, I'd probably be happy with just a downloadable level patch, with new spirits, and new worlds.

Well!

I now have a 360 with Condemned, PGR3, and Geometry Wars!

Thanks a lot for all the help guys! Now I'm setting it up to connect to my PC for streaming music, and working out the VGA adapter!

PDZ is like RTCW. Horrible single player but absolutely amazing online. You gotta try it out.

Already took it back FTW to pay for GRAW.

Nice, well chosen.

Hey, quick question that I bet has been answered a whole lot of times already-

How come Project Gotham Racing 3 looks all squished? I've tried loads of different resolutions, and the racing wheel in cockpit mode is much more ovular than circular. I've tried messing with widescreen/normal and all the different resolutions!

I normally have my PC resolution at 1280x1024, and that resolution works great for the dashboard, but PGR3 looks funky squashed.

Condemned looks fine, but it's letterboxed (even though it's in normal mode)

The 360 is a complicated machine!

I've got Project Gotham Racing 3, NBA2K6, Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2, Fight Night Round 3, Kameo, and Madden 06.

I play NBA2K6 and Fight Night 3 the most, though I don't recommend purchasing FNR3 (I honestly don't feel a great difference in the series anymore). Graphically it's impressive, but NOT as impressive as some may want to say it is (I'm in HD as well). The animation is too snappy. NBA2K6 has some of the best animation I've seen, it makes the game seem very realistic - if you like NBA at all I'd pick it up.

I just got mine today as well and had a few NOOB questions:

1) Can I transfer MP3's to my 360's HD, or do I have to rip any music I want to play in-game? (ARGH)

2) How do I set it up so that it starts in Dashboard mode, even if there's a game in the tray?

Thanks!

1. Stream using XBOX Media Connect (which I have had no success with).
2. Don't think you can. I just power on by hitting the eject button

:lol

That alone speaks volumes. There's way more goodness than that to be had on the 360.

Sounds like you didn't switch the switch on the cable adapter to HDTV. All of those games appear fine on my 16:9 HDTV.

Wait..I think your confused. I'm pretty sure he has it hooked up to his PC monitor via VGA cable (as do I) and there is no switch for TV-HDTV.

why does kameo get so much bad feedback? I'm really liking the game. Once past the first level things get going nicely. and some of the graphics are just amazing...a truley nice living world. Stuff going on all over the place and some nce cinemas as well....I am at the end of the water level right now...the graphics in that level alone are worth it.

kameo
nfs-mw
fight night
cod2
pgr3
doa4

Each of these games is worth a purchase in my book.

PGR3 only works on 1024 x 768 for some reason, try that.

Thanks. Was about to ask about that.

What I ordered if anyone gives a damn:

Xbox 360 Premium
Recharging thingie
Xbox Live Gold 12 months
Preordered GRAW

I'll be checking into Condemned and perhaps PGR3 if I still have any money left after also buying a 26" LCD-TV.

Because they no longer are assosiated with Nintendo now? :lol
Nah but there is some truth to it somewhere. You'll see a ton of haters ripping RARE a new ass but at the same time you'll see others droping a huge list of games they want to see RARE release on the DS.:b

I think theyre cool, just not AAA cool. I never have, but theyre not some hack developer like some try to make them out to be either. Kameo was a damn good game. PDO was good fun, though to be honest I have never liked trial and error mission based shooters,Golden Eye did nothing for me back in its day either.

Kameo is really sweet though, the juggling of creatures to use in battle is always a riot. Using Tumbleweed to juggle up a combo to the point where time slows to a crawl, then changing to Chilla and using your ice spears to take some of the mid level bosses-thats the type of grat fun that Kameo supplies to me. And the deeper you go into the game the more fun it becomes. Damn its a nice game.

PGR3 is pretty damn good.. very nice looking and playing.. I work on the Vegas Strip on an armored car. The tracks on the strip are so detailed, I could find some of the doors we go into on our route. :)

Thanks for the info on the dash / MP3's. I do have a Media Center PC, so I'll look into that USB key thing.

Has anyone gotten the 360 to play Xvid's yet? It tells me I don't have the right codec (on the 360, I'm assuming) but there isn't any info on how to update it.

Edit: Oh ho...

Edit 2: Make that Oh ho ho....

So is Perfect Dark Zero any good? I noticed no-body mentioned this game as a suggestion of what to pick up.

Depends. For me its got a good sci feel within it,awesome soundtrack, cool weapons, good visuals though nothing to the likes of PGR3,Kameo,or Condemned. Its a fun game though to be honest its not AAA to me. To me its a good solid B piece of software. Ofcourse it's certainly nothing like this turd some paint it out to be either. Maybe its best you rent first. Afterall a $60 dollar game does sort of hurt when youre not feeling it like others do. Online is fun but I haven't put that much time into that area though, your mileage will vary. The one thing I got from messing with online is that playing with bots and real opponents is fun and some of the levels are massive.

Hmm, I already own PDZ as I've bought a VIP pack which included that and an extra controller and faceplate when I pre-ordered my 360. I'm tossing up as to whether I should sell the game or not, I spose I'll give it a bash, if I don't like it I can sell it then.

Two things:

1) Flawed controls
2) Everything outside the Badlands has been done in so many other games.

Can someone please explain to me how in the fuck the controlls in kameo are "flawed." They work great, I didnt even notice them.

well it wasn't quite prefect. Remember the boss stage where you change between Major Ruin and Deep Blue-where you have to knock those lava rocks at the water boss-then jump into the water and shoot his tentacles with Deep Blue? The camera is awfully wonky in this area at times when youre using Deep lue,it took me something like 30 minutes to beat this boss because of that issue. That aside though I had no other problems with the game.

But imprecision does. I covered this in my review of the game.

Also, you're entitled to your opinion as much as I don't owe you an explanation for mine. Calm down.

TheDuce22 said:
Difficulty doesnt = bad controlls. I never felt they were holding me back in any way.

The camera in that one boss stage was what made it difficult for me. But its just a nitpick to an otherwise pretty good game.

Any tips on how to keep it from breaking?

I kept hearing about how loud the 360 is, but mine seems to be pretty quiet. No louder than the original xbox, maybe even a little quieter.

Power brick is big as a fat bitch though.

Like RTCW, just skip the single player game and concentate on the online MP. It's much, much better. I'm playing it almost daily anymore.

The only thing that GAF agrees on is that Condemned is a must buy?

Does anybody not like it?
(I love it BTW, it just gives me the creeps so I'm taking my time with it)

GAF doesn't agree on anything.

Try every game I listed. You may not like them all, but you should decide that for yourself. Everything else is found quite faithfully produced on other consoles.

Just tried RR6, that shit is clean! Textures to die for.. I like the mild drift cars. Tried some online... getting my ass kicked like always. I rented it, definitely going to pick it up later.

I didnt like it. :lol Survival horror isnt my thing. Actually the most entertaining FPS ive played on the 360 is Quake 4. :)

I don't know how it happened, just downloading a demo and well it was taking a long time and then I heard a loud click and the screen just messed up and froze. Turned it off and tried to turn it on again and got three quarters of a circle of red lighted terror. I don't know why it did it, now i've got to send it back to microsoft. It coudl've been I had the power supply not that far from the console. Or just something internal. Well I had briefly enjoyed PDZ and COD2 and various demos for ...what two days? Friday I got the fucking thing, of all the luck. I truly fail.
