Getting high

Check out the respective threads on Fuck Combustion, those would be the best place to start.

I own 2x Volcanos one analog and one digi, I used to own a Plenty before I gave it to my friends mom like a year ago or so. Storz & Bickel makes quality equipment.

I haven't paid that much attention outside of initial product announcements, but I know the Crafty is a more portable exclusively focused design based on the smaller form factor, lack of screen and smaller internal battery dimensions & ratings - while the Mighty has much better battery life, a built in screen for adjustments, but is much larger and approaching very unstealthy dimensions. They both feature pass through, but that is more relevant to sitting at home plugged into the wall or in a vehicle plugged into the 9v adapter, which is not really a portability issue but can still be really important.

I think this comparison article is fairly objective and breaks it down nicely. Hope that helps.

Nice one for the links.

And yeah, I was originally looking at the Mighty before I found out about the Crafty. The smaller size of the latter definitely makes it more appealing.

I ordered a Pax 2 today after doing some research.
It will be my first time using a vaporizer after smoking joints for 16 years. I guess it took this long because smoking joints is rooted in our Dutch weed culture. I haven't met anyone who smokes and uses a vaporizer.
I find it ironic and sad how we were considered so progressive and liberal in regards to recreational (soft) drugs. Yet the US is surpassing us so hard with weed legalization, better methods of weed consumption and vape technology.

Thinking about buying a Crafty vaporizer soon. Anyone here used/own one? I'm looking for some impressions.

Own one. Absolutely adore it. As a solo device it's great. Battery life isn't the best but it should get you through most if not all of the day, and you should be close to power (yay micro USB charging) if you plan on a heavier session. Great design (loading tool forever) and super easy to maintain. Best vapor quality from a portable that I've ever tried, and would be my daily driver if I didn't have the Volcano (which, as has been mentioned, same company).

Not so stealth edit: Should go without saying, if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

Have you tried the Pax 2? If so, how does the crafty compare? I know the pax is a little more expensive.

I've had the original. I mainly got it as a dummy proof option for my friends who didn't want to bother with "learning" the Launch Box. It is sleek, smaller, has a better battery life, but if you ask me the herb needs stirring, and cleaning, refilling and maintenance is a chore. I was happy with it at first and it's still a quality piece, assuming you're ok conceding its drawbacks in favor of its faults.

Overall? Unless battery life, cost and/or size are absolutely imperative to you (or possibly if you don't have a smart phone) I'd go Crafty, easily. Better experience, better vapor, much more pleasant draw which will become more and more noticeable as use and time go one, better vapor, and also better vapor.

Yeah, I've watched a few videos on it now and I'm definitely gonna go with the Crafty. That grinder/filler tool is genius. Lol.

Thanks for the impressions & advice. :D

It sucks to be all out. The girl who gets it for me is being a hardass but hopefully I'll have some tomorrow. It's like someone has taken my wings. I've never felt anything as great as playing the piano while high. Sex must be amazing.

I like my Arizer Air but it feels like it burns through the product a bit too quickly. Needs an even lower heat setting.

Not a fan of the mouthpiece either, which is really small. Can hardly get any good airflow.

It's a powerful little thing, and it'll last longer than an MFLB but something about the MFLB's simplicity makes it appealing among all the other portable vape options.

Just ordered myself the Mini. Hoping it works well.

Man the only thing about the MFLB is that the batteries are absolute ass. They're almost empty before I'm even high.

Didn't know anywhere else to post this...

With Cannabis plant growing LEGAL in multiple states, I thought we could maybe create a thread dedicated to growing Cannabis for indoor and outdoor grows.
Someone should kickstart a thread :)

Interested in GAF's knowledge on nutrients and supplements

How do I get weed in a new city damnit :( I'm not good at just going to bars and asking around

Best place to ask, I assume.

Currently doing weekly chemo. I live on the border of Oregon and Washington, technically in Oregon, so legality isn't an issue for me. Looking through some of the shops is confusing as hell. I want something that will kill the nasuea for more than half an hour but doesn't make me stupid. Pain relief would be nice too, but the nasuea is what is the worst.

Any names I can specifically look for?

There's actually a strain called Chemo.

http://www.theweedblog.com/what-is-the-best-strain-of-medical-marijuana-for-helping-nausea/

The Indica dominant Chemo strain of marijuana was reputedly developed by Dr David Suzuki back in the 1970s for the specific role of treating the nausea and pain that is associated with chemotherapy treatment.

If they don't sell that particular strain, here are a list of others that help with nausea:

http://www.medicalmarijuanastrains.com/tag/nausea-relief/

I've also heard good things about the Girl Scout Cookies strain.

Also, take into consideration that the amount you smoke also plays a factor in how dopey it will make you feel. Also, don't smoke too much or you can actually make the nausea worse. And don't smoke on an empty stomach, the only times I've ever pulled a whitey is when I've smoked without eating prior.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your chemo. :)

Look for tinctures - they're liquid drops that contain minimal amounts of THC and more of CBD - the pain/nausea/anxiety fighting stuff.

If you go to a dispensary and they don't have tinctures, ask for a strain with high CBD for pain relief. Make sure, if possible, that it doesn't have a THC level higher than 15%. The lower the THC, the better in this case.

They will wear down after a number of uses (not sure how many). Maybe you need to buy fresh ones? And, obviously, be sure to start each vaping session with fully charged batteries.

I use my pax 2 almost daily. Agreed on how its much better than the mflb. Mflb was nice when i got it for $80 years ago but times change

I don't know if "weak hits" are the box's fault... It all comes down to breath control. If you start inhaling the vapor too soon you'll get a weak hit, yes. If you let it heat up just enough and inhale with a constant and continious tempo it should work fine. Temp control can be controlled with inhale tempo as well. It takes some practice, that's for sure.

But then again, the term "weak hit" is relative as fuck. My ultra-strong hits could be your "weak hits". Or vice versa.

hmmm Pax 2?

I came in here to ask about a vape. When I had a MFLB like 5 years ago it never really got me high, just kinda buzzed I guess. Back then I was hitting multiple gravity bongs per day though haha.

Nowadays I pretty much just smoke once later at night like 10:30 PM or so.

you need to buy a grinder for optimal use, right? ~$300 when it's all said and done might be too much for me.

Really depends on what features you are looking for.

The Arizer Solo and Air are both great and a bit cheaper than the Pax 2, however not as compact and discreet. Both models apparently rip as well, if not better than a Pax 2. There are many reviews / comparisons / demos on Youtube. All 3 of these devices are exponentially better than the MFLB in terms of vapor quality and amount of clouds.

And yea, a grinder is pretty much required. How much you want to spend will really depend on how much you plan to use it. Space Case and Santa Cruz Shredder are both excellent hand grinders that, with a bit of care, will last forever, but are a bit pricey for what they are. Some people even use finishing grinders to get a very fine grind. Cheap grinders are often a headache, but I've seen the odd one that is great. Trial and error.

I don't care about being discreet as this is only for basement use in my home. I've felt smoking affecting my lungs (coughing and phlegm) and can notice a bit of staining on my teeth. So I wanted to try a vape again.

It looks like the Arizer is ~$230 on their website but a bunch of resellers have it for $100 off. Where's the recommended place to buy one?

The Flowermate 5.0S Mini is the freaking bomb. So easy to clean, hits pretty decently (you nee to take off the stem once in a while to clear the air holes), and was super cheap. The form factor is the best part. It has to be one of the most nice looking portables that I've seen -- really simple and conspicuous. Plus, the taste is much better compared to consuming Js... so that that's a huge plus.

Is it just me, or does weed taste like crap when smoked?

I buy the dankest weed available and it all tastes like slightly perfumed smoke...but not in a pleasant way. I've been smoking for around two years now and I can only think of a couple times where I took a hit and thought it tasted good. My friend is always like "this haze tastes pukka", and I'm smoking the exact same weed and thinking "tastes like ass". Lol.

Are there certain ways to smoke that can maximize taste? Maybe I should stop spending the entire bowl in one hit and take smaller hits? I don't know.

Anything combusted looses a majority of its taste. If you are looking for flavors with your flowers, use a vaporizer.

I've been using Bhang sticks lately. It's medical grade co2 oil in cartridges for vaping. I burn through 2 in about a week and a half, and it takes time to get really high— so I'm hoping to find a more economical/efficient alternative.

Anyone have any recommendations? I used to own a MFLB a few years ago, but the batteries always ran out.

Vaping is the way to go, as others have mentioned. Some vapes are better for taste than others, as well.

If you aren't allergic to Reddit, definitely check out /r/VaporEnts, they have a ton of good info. As for suggestions, it looks like you want a model with some power behind it, so definitely look at desktop units. I love my E-nano, personally. Set it up with a bubbler and you can get some serious freight-train hits, although that's not my thing.

Unrelated: I made some QWISO out of a bunch of shake. Way too dark due to me screwing up the soak times, but still looks delicious. I'm a little scared to try it though, since my tolerance is non-existent.
