I think you are right (I always considered bubblers to be smaller, as they often are, but I could be wrong). Either way, if carfo wants a legit bong, he might be disappointed with the one he linked.

Glass connections are a must (the one linked does, which is good). I also have stayed away from soft glass and it can often be of poor quality (specifically if manufactured overseas). All depends on what you want, and more importantly what you want to spend.
 
Can't wait till I get a bong, I'll probably rip it like a bitch and use my MFLB to extend the high as much as possible.

Edit: It really is best not to cheap out on a bong, just stop buying for a bit and save up that money if you have to. I have many friends that bought cheap bongs, but don't use them that much as the inconvenience isn't worth it since they aren't good bongs.

What makes a good one? Been thinking of getting one myself but I really don't want some crazy glass contraption taking up a bunch of room in my small apartment.

Willectro explained a few points finely, everything being glass really is a must. I'd also go for a larger bong, so the difference is clear between it and a bubbler. Ice catcher is nice, but not necessary. Make sure the glass is quality, too.

I've been smoking out of a home-made "waterfall" bong for about 7 years now. I bought a plastic bucket, a soda bottle, and a one hitter. I stuck the one hitter through the cap in the soda bottle and sealed it so it's air tight, I poked holes at the bottom of the soda bottle and filled the bucket with water and put some ice in there. Dude if you've been smoking for 7 years invest more than $50. I just got a double honey comb bong that rips like a dream. Brand name is "Maverick". Cost about $220 and I'd say it's worth it so far.

Honestly, if I can only smoke in a sketch place, I'd rather not smoke at all. I just wont be able to enjoy it that well and it seems like a waste. Hate people who try to make me smoke their pieces in cars.

I've been holding back since I found out I may need a hair test to get this job. Turns out I do and in 2 days it will be exactly 97 days I last smoked. I've taken a hair test before but the last place I took was weird. They only tested an inch of hair, not the standard 1.5 inches for some reason. Also, it had been a month longer than this time. I'm freaking out! When they cut your hair for it, it's not like they get a razer and shave at the head, they leave an eighth to a quarter inch of hair so that just lengthens the potential danger zone. I also don't trust there fuckers. They will probably test too much or test the wrong end. Too much can go wrong here. I've got maybe another two weeks before they offer the job and I have to take the offer and get tested. If I lost this contract/job I'm in the street. I've got expensive tastes yo! I can't afford my rent more than an extra month and I'm paying off student loans and a car.

It is, but sketch as fuck. I'd probably be down if it was a somewhat safe place and we used joints, but I will never smoke glass in a car. You can always eat the joint if it comes to it.

Just make a sploof. Basically just a toilet paper roll with a dryer sheet at the end that you exhale into. It's supposed to kill the smell.

Nope, then they test your body hair, which barley ever grows. Worse case option since it will take drug history back years and years. I don't think I'm prepared to wax every part of my body. They will still test you then but I'm not sure how.

Hair tests do seems like BS but this is a Fortune 500 company, I'm not really surprised. I should have quit sooner.

I had to piss test just to get the contract.
 
Question: In one of the states where it is now legal, would you have a case for getting rid of drug testing(for weed) there? It'd be like if you found out someone had a beer in the last two weeks you wouldn't hire them.

Actually, I'm colorado and it doesn't metter at all. No only is the total legality still up in the air, but a private company can still restrict the substance for employment.


And...yes if I suddenly showed up bald it ws be a red flag.

The screw up thing is my boss gave me the heads up a while ago because he wants me to work there and doesn't want me clipped by a drug test. However we had another person here so didn't find out about it and then tried to delay the offer after he accepted it. They took that as an admission of drug use and let him go. Not that it would have mattered, he would have been out once the test came through.

No. Employers can generally fire, or refuse to hire, you for whatever reason, unless its race/sex/sexual orientation (in some places), or you're covered by a union contract. You could get fired or not hired for smoking tobacco or drinking booze off the job in at most places if the employer decided that's what they wanted to do.
 
That feel when you put about 16 hours into studying for an exam, starting a week early, only to know you still bombed it. I'm gonna get stoned and forget about it.

Then I have to be up at 6:30 in the morning for a lecture, lab, and then 3 recitations back-to-back. Two of those recitations will include a multivariable calculus quiz and a physics quiz.

Did I tell you I'm about to get stoned as hell?

Its not really a distinct weed smell though, nor is it strong at all. Its been a while since i've made some, but from what I remember it just smelled like some roasted herbs.

One spray of any odor eliminator would easily cover it up.

All depends on what you want really. Features like glass connections, thick pyrex glass, and ice pinches are nice to have. Diffusers/percs/shower heads/ash catchers/etc are amazing as well, but make the bong harder to clean (I think these features are worth the trouble). This can make for a cleaner and smoother experience generally. Unless you are smoking a lot and have built up a tolerance, you won't need anything too big at all (based on what I've seen, larger bongs are often wasteful).

I really want to get an Illadelph in the future, but they are a bit too expensive at the moment.

Close all the windows in your apartment but one.
Set up a fan pointing out towards the open window so that the gust blows through the screen (air goes outside).
Set up one more fan that points towards the ass end of the first fan for a similar effect.

You might not need the second fan. I don't know how close your window is to where you'd be cooking (or how many fans you have, for that matter), but that should work just fine. But if you're living in one of those dorms that they just call apartments because they're not quite traditional dorms, I think the risk might be too great.

Hair follicle tests are absolutely bullshit. Drug tests should be there to weed out the addicts, not catch people who have done drugs.

It's funny that they have some arbitrary cutoff point (as in cutting the hair at a certain length), and use head hair. If they decided to use arm hair, couldn't they get you from a year or two ago? Why not do that? Obviously because that would weed out A LOT OF PEOPLE (since the reality is that many people are curious and try drugs at some point, even if they decide that they don't enjoy them and go straight after). So why does doing the test make any sense at all?

Urine tests are annoying, but fine. I think that 10-14 day cutoff period is a bit better. If you can't take a break from, say, marijuana for two weeks then maybe you need to get your priorities straight. But just having done it, say a month ago? I'm sorry but that isn't a great test of character.
 
+1 to the above comments about firecrackers. It does indeed make a soft smell that's pretty easy to air out. Not nearly as tough as brownies.

Also I don't even know if someone who isn't familiar with the smell would even recognize it. I had friends over a few months ago and I smoked a bowl out of my da vinci vape and they didn't even notice the smell while I was smoking in the same room. Once my brother and one of my stoner friends came over they noticed it instantly, though.

man that trainwreck was good. i went for a walk at night with a J and some radiohead and it felt like i was a kid again. was almost psychedelic with all the colours popping and such. wow
 
I made Milk tea with my leftover stems last weekend.

It came out up pretty disgusting and I ended up putting some cacoa powder in it since I was out of Hot Chocolate. It was still distasteful, but it was totally worth it. I'll have some hot chocolate on hand next time I try it. The feels are pretty damn intense, somehow it felt different than an edible. Much more body focused.
 
Anybody still have that hot cocoa recipe? Was it GAF that I saw it on....was super easy to make and supposed to be amazing. I think it originated from some weed forum

Ah, I haven't tried making tea with it, I meant just having some tea with some.

I've heard of doing the tea with stems method.

Me and a couple of friends once hotboxed a car. While we were in there one guy gets this (wellfounded) idea that all of our clothes would smell so we took off our shirts and put them on the roof of the car. One dude forgot about his on the roof and we drove away, leaving it on the side of the road somewhere. I to this day do not know how he got that past his mother.

Yes it does, you can kinda smell it though the dryer sheet but its good enough.

I have only had two times i had a hard time walking from the mass amount of smoking i have done in one sitting, one time i was in a jeep with my brother and two friends and we blazed like 8 or 9 bong bowels and when i got out the amount of smoke that came out was ridiculous. Second time was 420 in Denver Capital was fucking sweet.
 
Yeah, I used a sploof when I was younger, it works, takes a fair amount of dryer sheets to really kill the smell, and you will still have the smell from igniting.

Overall, it does cut the smell.
 
Also, forgive me for sounding stupid but what is a dryer sheet?

Do you just mean a piece of toilet paper taped over the end of the card roll?

It does to a small extent, but ultimately I think it's more of a myth. Problem with smoking anything is that the smell in the air is significantly lessened if you are the one smoking.

To avoid apartment smells consider getting a vape (Magic Flight Launch Box, Arizer Solo, or Pax Ploom are all great portable vapes). I can't say enough good about vaporizers. They use less product (this has been my experience), are better for your lungs, taste better, and are a better high IMO. I vape with a window open and haven't had any issues.

Another thing to consider is a Tight Vac to stash your shit in. That website looks like garbage, but Tight Vacs really do work at cutting down the smells significantly and keeping everything fresh (they are intended for coffee/tea, which I also use them for). Worst case scenario, buy a box of microwave popcorn... it solves 2 problems at once, haha.
