Giant Bomb #13 | good and faithful friends ahead

The casual ease with which people there are making GB Insider jokes leads me to believe this is not the first time Giant Bomb has appeared on the ShittyFoodPorn Subreddit, and/or there is a massive overlap between Giant Bomb fans and subscribers there.

Or it's just being commented on by people who saw the link on another GB related site.

Dan trolling on Twitter and people are getting annoyed at him again... When will they learn?

Gotta admit, it gets under the skin. Partially because he has a point - the biggest artists of 2015 don't put on the same lavish concert performances you'd see in that era. (a few do, but right now there is not an equivalent to any of the three artists he mentions) But he attributes it to some inherent generational flaw in the music - rather than the actual causes.

At least he respects Bruno Mars as a performer!

It's just completely boring to read now, purely for a reaction. Maybe he'll grow up one day.

Dans completely right though, nobody today can match Freddie Mercury or Michael Jackson. The way I see it, if that fact gets under your skin, you simply haven't listened enough to Freddie Mercury.

That's the thing though. He is an annoying attention seeking troll on Twitter, but at some point that's what you're looking for if you're still following him.

I agree with Dan on the 2015 music thing being not as good as those he listed.

Though him saying:
Dan RyckertVerified account
‏@DanRyckert
Electronic music is for soulless robots and a laptop is not a musical instrument.

is a bit dumb considering the other guys already explained on the bombcast the skill it takes.

Plus it's also dumb considering Jeff was in Midnight Brown which has electronic music. Way to insult Jeff, Dan!

The only reason I am still following him is because he's a member of Giantbomb and sometimes he'll tweet updates on upcoming content. If he wasn't doing that on the side of being a troll then I'd have unfollowed him a long time ago.

Not worth it really.

Whenever Dan tweets something relevant to the site it ends up here. Unfollow and be happy.

Lol. Dan's shtick is so tired now. On about Taco Bell being the best food there is. No good music today. Just transparent clowning at this point.

Taco Bell came to Australia about 15 years ago. I tried it once but can't remember anything about it. As a country we collectively said "meh" and they were gone like 5 years later.

Then, when I was living in London a few years ago, it was announced they found horse meat in their "beef".

So the company certainly has an interesting history.

I always feel weird having such broad music tastes when other people argue about it. I don't think there's a genre I've heard that I haven't appreciated in some way. I guess if you broke some down into sub-genres there might be some but that's a pretty narrow selection.

Wrong about commas, wrong about everything
I THINK there used to be a Taco Bell in austria at some point. Nobody cared so they vanished again. I don't really care, cause if I want to eat Tacos I know a place that isn't a fast-food hell.

Also I have to agree with Dan: Music (at least the popular music) of today sucks for the most part.

I wish there are taco bells in Australia.

Much like KFC, I an get actually good food here, but sometimes I want grease and salt in the cheapest way possible.

We don't have that many Taco Bells here in Canada as hey aren't as omnipresent as Tim Horton's or McDonald's. That being said, the rare times I encounter and eat at a Taco Bell is always a treat. Best bang-for-your-buck fast food by far.

I like the chicken quesadillas the most out of the basic Taco Bell meals.

We don't got any of the weird stuff they serve in the US. The weirdest thing we have are the Dorito tacos.

I'm sure it comes off that way, but the fact is that I really feel that way.

Dude, I grew up 18 years on a redneck ass cattle farm in the middle of the woods, living the most "AMERICA.TXT" upbringing humanly possible. We had regular articles in the school newspaper whinging about "fakers" wearing AC/DC shirts because they don't know by heart the track listing for every single AC/DC song ever written, and all sorts of other dumb shit, like the "Loggerodeo" and the yearly reenactment of the "Great Bank Robbery" where some bank robbers shot a bunch of people and then ran through a whorehouse. Yes, I grew up in a place known for bank robbers and hookers.

I'm a few weeks out from turning 25 and since then I've been to a dozen countries across four continents dealing with everything from first class trans-continental to getting AK-47s shoved in my face on a semi-regular basis in west Africa.

It was hilarious as fuck starting out, and now since then it's turned into, "christ, what is wrong with you." Like that segment of learning wrestling moves from Hoodslam was hilarious, because we were seeing said character come up against adversity, and it was actually somewhat endearing. And this sort of endearing idiot with terrible ideals I grew up surrounded by was fine on its own, sure.

But when you go and tweet shit like some variation on "I don't give a shit about politics," like, literally what the fuck. Name a single fucking black man or woman who gets paid to dip oreos into nacho cheeze on a Mario Party livestream much less the past couple years of black people being executed by police for no legitimate fucking reason.

I'm not saying you need to flagellate yourself every waking moment or beg for forgiveness for the fucked up shit our ancestors have done for whatever bullshit reason or another, but simply because sure, you and I have the luxury of playing blind to these issues, makes it rather cruel to parade around the fact you have that very fucking luxury when those with a different skin color have to be paranoid about whether or not a cop is looking at them funny. Maybe you don't give a shit about politics, but a great number of people don't have that luxury, because it's their life, or their child's life, if they don't.

tl;dr: I grew up a thousand times more americafuckyeah.txt than you and it's gotten to a point where it's beyond comically embarrassing.

Dudes...Bloodborne is awesome. I just beat the
Shadow of Yharnam
in the
Forbidden Woods
and I've never had so much fun in a Souls game before. I attribute most of my success to the Kirkhammer being so damn good. Would love to see the guys
Vinny & Alex
play some of these later areas on a stream.

I'm sure Dan has gotten a shit ton of tirades before and this definitely won't be his last.

Look, I disagree with a lot of how Dan rolls, but he is still a cool dude and really entertaining, so if you feel like telling him your opinion about certain things, maybe you shouldn't have a rude tone.

Respect is a two way street, my man. If you think he should be more concerned about politics, maybe link him to some articles or something. He might not read them, but it is probably more likely to affect him or any other person than to tell them how wrong they are.

For example:

Hey Dan, I recall hearing on the Bombcast that you haven't seen Citizen Kane. I'm sure you've been told a billion times to see it, but I would just like to reiterate that it is a cool film that's worth seeing. It might not be in your wheelhouse, but I think it is worth giving a chance.

That's not so hard, right? You can do what you'd like, of course, but this kind of stuff always irks me.
