One plot thread's conclusion was cut from the game, so people are whining that the game has no ending. It's an overreaction even if the core criticism is valid.

Only one major plot thread is actually resolved, the vast majority of events that happen in the game are left hanging. No one who plays through the game will think they have actually reached the ending unless they were told otherwise.
The game feels unfinished.

The 2nd chapter feels unfinished and suffers from what is obviously cut content, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it lacks an ending.

As someone with zero attachment to the mario franchise or games, i find myself just not getting it.
any interest I might have had was snuffed out when I discovered you cant actually use any of the costumes at will
The game is like a dream come true for anyone who loved 2D Mario.

I'm on the 5th mission with 17 hours played. I really suck at this game but oh well. It's still really fun.

Yup, been a great year.
i've discovered two notable harry potter x metal gear fanfics: one called "Slytherin Eater" where Big Boss basically abducts harry from the dursleys when he's like 8 (probably by fultoning him) and one where the summary is basically "Faced with the threat of Voldemort the British Government develops a Metal Gear"

And fuck all that people having beaten it stuff (thanks joblessness!), I finally was able to keep a stable connection enough to invade someone's FOB and it was basically a platoon Army of Two characters roasting me. I'm pretty sure I got away with a single solder and no resources. How did this guy put enough time in to have so many amazing soldiers?

I'm going to have to avoid the podcasts this week as I have no hope of getting through MGS before next week and I would rather not be spoiled (Im sure they wont give away endings and stuff, but its better to be safe than sorry).
I am always slow with big games, I find long gaming sessions suck all the enjoyment out of a game for me, prefer to play in little chunks (and MGSV is perfect for this!) so I am always finishing games weeks after the internet has decided its time to discuss the plot fairly openly.
The whole gaming side of Gaf has become a bit of a minefield too, so I think until Im done with MGS I'm going to duck out of here!

Once you've done that it's your duty to match every giantbomb character with their respective metal gear counterparts
For me it's been the first time in years when I look at the upcoming release schedule and see around 4 or 5 games I really want to play all coming out within the space of a month. I have a lot to look forward to this winter.

Though it's mostly due to changing my gaming habits.
This always happens when you put games against each other.
It happens on the bombcast every year when it's GOTY, somehow great games are made to look like a pile of shit just so this other game gets a place in the list.
