I would just grab him instead unless I am out int he open. I so rarely slammed anyone down in this game. It was way more effective to just shoot them in the head instead because it makes less noise.

yeah but then you won't know if that guy is a specialist or a A++ duder you might want to recruit.

I try to keep bloodbaths to a minimum just to leave that option open

I adopted this several hours in because of people waking up when I was taking my time (or for the guys who won't get down when you ask them). You might have meant this when you said put them to sleep, but you can just kick them to knock them out again and not waste darts (like I did for too long). I'm not even sure how much their shouting affects the radius people will notice them being fultoned.
yeah i would just choke them out the second time to save on darts. Or not even use the first dart by having a buddy put them out the first time around.

That's what's great about this game, it gives you plenty of tools to make your style of play doable

Slamming is super effective if some jerk catches you offguard and puts you into reflex mode and you have to react quickly. I suppose you could just grab him too but sometimes there are too many folks around you for that to be a reasonable thing to do.

my favorite thing to do in the game is put someone to sleep from a distance, walk up to their laying body, kick them awake, interrogate them, and then put them back to sleep and either fulton them or put one between their eyes.

I could do that loop for the rest of time and never get bored of it.

There are non-lethal weapon you know. A normal helmet is easy to circumvent in cases like these because the face is still exposed. Only riot gear dudes are more of an issue but then there is of course the grab alternative.

oh i thought you meant that you would go lethal at times. I misunderstood your post.

Slamming in reflex was usually a OH SHIT moment thing when i didn't have time to really consider my options or i was caught in the middle of a reload or some shit. It wasn't my first option but i found it to be useful on more than one occasion

Late game/post ending mgsv gear spoilers:
it's really fun tidying up side ops and just fucking around with stealth camo/ infinity bandana and non lethal automatic weapons. Clear out bases in seconds.

I do sometimes in side ops, but only when I know I don't need the guys.

Slamming it that instance makes sense. Just rarely happened in my play through to be honest. I might have slammed 10 people the whole game or something like that.

Kinda stopped playing now though. 90 hours of this game was enough. I will return to it once the MP is out, because that looks like a lot of fun.

i just got DD upgraded with the battlesuit so he can take out 3 to 4 heavily armored guards while i just move in and fulton

I just wish his fulton ability was better or more reliable. sometimes I can tell him to do it several times before he decides he wants to. or he will just ignore some people. he needs an option like Quiet's "cover me" where he just fultons everything until I tell him not to

i...i didnt even know that he could do that. and i have 80 hours in that game.

i guess that's what i get for leaning on quiet too much

having end-game gear and not caring about rankings anymore (I finished off all S-ranks) is great. that multiple warhead homing rocket launcher is hilarious. stand on a cliff overlooking an outpost and just take everybody out with one shot.

the anti-materiel rifle (esp with semi-auto) makes all body armor and most vehicles a total joke. counter-measures. hah.

You're a big guy.

WHAT

this game

D-Dog's stun ability is the best. If there were 2 guards that were too far to take out with a sleep grenade or double melee, I'd command D-Dog to take one and I'd charge slam the other and time it so we'd reach them at the same time. It might not have been the safest or best way to do it but it felt good. Always gave him pat on the head when we were done.

I put 77 hours in until I finally uninstalled TPP. Good fun, great game.

Patrick doesn't actually know how the level works, this is great news.

http://www.twitch.tv/patrickklepek

I installed it after hearing the tapes at the end. I needed a break from the game once i finished it, it was a fantastic but really draining experience for me. I'll probably play it again in January when MP comes to PC though and hearing that there are so many amazing late game/post game items and weapons that i didn't even know existed has made me excited to get back to it at a later time.

but for now, short games. really fun and short games. and Mario Maker

also that level isn't that hard to cheese. Flying with the cape undoes a lot of the BS

Dan must be so happy...

What I find amazing about this randomly created level is that there somehow managed to be easy solutions for all these fucked up things if you just have the knowledge.

Bwahaha Bowser catching up is so good. I love seeing Patrick figure out ways to solve these parts that weren't really designed to be solved. Is that P bridge part even possible?

I don't think the P bridge is possible without the cape.

I don't have it to test this out, but is it not possible to just do a running jump over it instead of trying to land on that first block?

Or at least jump over it enough to get to the space near the end of the bridge. Or let Bowser jump on it. Or carry a trampoline with you the whole way lol.

Yeah I need to do more messing around with that and other weapons I barely used (or not at all) through the story. It's just so brutal though, I feel kinda bad for the dudes I'm killing. I originally realised how powerful it was accidentally by knocking over one of those watch towers with a stray bullet lol. It's really good for quickly s-ranking missions involving skulls too.

it's the great thing about MM: because even the monster that designed a stage has to conquer his/her own creation, every single stage uploaded is doable. So when you can't finish a stage you get the sense that you're a fucking idiot and you need to keep going because there has to be a way.

It makes playing the supposed hard levels so enjoyable. You need to master the mechanics and kinda get inside the head of the creator a bit to make it to the end and it feels really satisfying because of that.

The P-bridge is probably the worst part of the level. I don't even know if it's possible to jump that way.

edit: I take it all back.
