I think Fear holds up pretty well, AI is still really fun and the repetitive environments were just as much of a flaw at launch as they are now.

Fear 3 isn't awful but the environments are really static and the areas are too linear to be able to use your powers in any interesting ways. The run like hell or whatever multiplayer mode was really fun though.

And Fear 2 was ok, I just remember thinking how much better Fear 1 was in every way but graphics.

I played it 2 years ago and thought the AI was still ways better than anything we have nowadays. It's so rare that a squad of enemies will actually try to pin you down while some other squad members move out to flank you.

Max Payne 3 is the game that showed me how much difference 120FPS+ can make in gameplay. It's insane how smooth the shooting becomes and how effortless it is to take enemies out.

Word of warning, if you've ever used a logitech mouse or currently do Fear has all sorts of bizarre performance issues that you will have to get around. Hopefully you can avoid these, but I'm just telling you now in case you load it up and wonder what the fuck is going on.

I'm looking forward to Fallout 4. I don't need it to be some revolutionary game. An updated Fallout 3 is good enough for me, I loved Fallout 3.

That's exactly how I feel and, I don't know, the base-building stuff actually seems pretty interesting to me? I know Bethesda games aren't the greatest thing to people nowadays for whatever reason but I've had some of the most fun I've ever had with a video game exploring in their worlds. Specifically Fallout 3.
