It's got to be some kind of error. I feel like trying to download a video game is not the first place he'd figure out that he was on that sort of list.

Well one possible scenario is that there's someone with the same name on the list and Epic is just doing a dumb automatic check against the list, whereas other companies instead trigger a manual check (if anything) and immediately see that this person obviously isn't the same as the one on the list.
I have no idea how other companies actually use the list, or if they do at all.

I wonder what the GB guys think of the Far Cry Primal footage. It looks like a skip for me so far, especially after seeing the WiLD demo. That looked so much more exciting than Far Cry 4 with limitations.
Yea, I watched that gameplay demo and it did absolutely nothing for me. It looks just boring and I somehow feel like I played that game already. Ubisoft really needs to change up its formula.

Sorry, I have a real problem with checkbox design these days.
But it will reverse the feedback loop.
Instead of tower > hunt > kill > craft it's hunt > kill > craft > tower.
It's like, subversive.

And what's this with the Jim Sterling bashing? I'm not too fond of the schtick for his Jimquisition videos, but he's a great critic and his Podquisition podcast is consistently fantastic. If you think he is all about being angry and shouty you've got a pretty limited view of his work, I'd say.

It would be insane to just do an automatic check with no manual followup considering how many false positives you would get with that approach.
edit: Not sure if this has been posted, but an UPF today seems highly unlikely. Not that that comes as a big surprise, but it's a shame since Vinny, Alex and Austin are in town.

Well the result of a false positive is just not allowing them to create an account, which can likely be solved by sending an email. It's not like they get SWAT sent to their home or anything.
This issue probably didn't even pop up before they released a big game for free on the platform.

Shadow Complex PC looks a little rough around the edges.
I guess this was a game from the days of Xbox Live Arcade game size limits and the game was built around that. Lighting tweaks and up resing can only go so far.
Makes me wish there was a Vita version because it kinda has that "we ported a console game to a portable and now all the graphics are kind bad" look to it.
Still. Free Shadow Complex. Cant go wrong with free and Ill still probably rebuy on PS4.
Also SOMEONE AT EPIC FINALLY SHIPPED A GAME! Its been so long.

Epic is forcing me to play Shadow Complex in Portugal portuguese (audio and menu language) and it manages to make the game funnier than it is.
I didn't understand almost anything that the characters have said, only that the main swore using "Thunders!". Loving.
You can change language but you have to go into the INI file and do it that way. Saw someone post about that in the gaming thread.

I laughed, but seriously there is a real issue in this industry where everything needs to have everything. Stop homogenizing your games. Try differentiating, which is way more interesting and gives everything a reason to actually exist.

Yeah, I lost all interest in Ubi games becuse despite the wildly different settings, time periods and even gameplay styles they all just feel the same now. In my mind Watch_Dogs is Assassin's Creed is Far Cry

I just realized what the old game of the year may be: Puyo Puyo Tetris. They haven't played or talked about it in a while, but early in the year it seemed like it was being played a ton.

He has a fucking uniform with leather gloves and gets involved in internet dramaz.
I've met a million people like him and none of them are pleasant.
Maybe he comes across better if you aren't from the UK.

Why do people keep expecting megatons on The Game Awards? Since they stopped airing on Spike, has there been any AAA reveals on that show?
It's always indie games and Telltale, for the most part.
Zelda last year was a pretty big deal, even though the video wasn't great
