Finally got around to watching the Pocket Card Jockey game, what an interesting looking thing that is. Has anyone played it and can vouch for it? Sounds like a pretty good price for something I could easily enjoy.
I think that guy would have been criticized a lot less if he only did it once or twice. After a certain point I just got the feeling he was looking for a reaction.

I started playing Fallout 4 again yesterday and decided to look into mods. Then I had like 50 mods installed and it was 4 AM. What have I become?

Modded to hell is the best way to play Bethesda RPG's, I was rocking 100+ mods on Skyrim and New Vegas back in the day.
There's a mod for that.

You say that but my character is wearing an exosuit with a jetpack over Samus' Zero suit while cutting up people with katanas and being able to sprint at like Doom speeds and it's pretty awesome. I mean nothing can fix that game's awful writing but I will say the mod that just displays the full dialogue choices makes that a little more palatable at least.

I don't know that that's typical... I enjoyed the game at launch unmodded a great deal too despite its shortcomings. Can't nobody fix that mess of a story and lack of world building anyway.

So... I don't think I'm enjoying Doom all that much. I kind of dread entering a new combat encounter each time.

It's not really difficult on the default setting, I've only died a few times. So far it's kinda just been me hopping around the arena waiting for a chance to pop a demon with my shotgun, get a glory kill, and hop away. I feel like the enemies do too much damage for me to charge and be as aggressive as I think I should be. The pistol is garbage and not even a viable option unless you're dealing with the zombie things.
I only just started level 3 though, so maybe it'll click for me soon.
Otherwise, I think Brad is spot on about the games level design and ammo scarcity. It's a very well designed game, but maybe I just like cover shooters more?

There's probably one guy working alone somewhere on that, and in 4 years time he'll release it with hopes of getting a job in the industry.

A mod that removes all dialogue sounds ok to me.
You should totally be able to play aggressively, the glory kills basically encourage you to do so. You probably just need to get used to the flow of combat.
As if we needed more proof that there is a Simpsons gif for everything.

Doom is the first shooter in ever that I love fucked up scenarios in. Spawn all the fucked up enemies in, I love it. Yeah two Barons of Hell on top of all this, bring it.

I typically play games conservatively and patiently, so yeah hopefully I just need to change my approach and adjust and that's all. It's a cool ass game and I want to love it, but just so far I'm not.

Fixing the Pipboy does not make that game good.
I watched all of the way through for the first time this year and actually liked a few of the songs a whole lot and had a few laughs. Most of all I really liked the production.
