I beat Dancer and Pontiff on my first try by circling around then. Twins and Nameless King only took me two tries each with that strategy. Nameless King in particular is supremely pathetic. Tons of openings if you can eat a bit of lightning damage. I guess it looks cool. Maybe you should stop screwing around with that fire crap and pick up a goddamn sword and shield. Twins is a good execution of a good idea, but he's so slow.

I beat the whole game with that 'fire crap' and had way more fun than you seem to have. I guess I came out ahead on that one.

There's zero doubt in my mind that DS3 is a more difficult game than Bloodborne. Bloodborne is just an inherently forgiving game. There is no way around it. The easier difficulty is literally baked in mechanically.

Another day, another opportunity to be awed by qlcrew's usefulness. I just learned of a Dungeon Siege retrospective that I didn't know existed.
Even Jeff, who was the one that gave it 5/5, didn't include it in his top 10.

GTA is one of those series that everyone just kinda has to respect.

Like, they spend a bajillion dollars making it and it shows. It just has to be good.. Forget the plodding mission structure, the juvenile writing, and the Worst Online Lobby of 2015. It's still GTA.
aka I didn't like GTA5 at all but man is it a nice game.
Im enjoying this "My game is harder than your game!" competition going on

Only one game this year has had the weight and consequence gamers have come to expect. A game where every second matters and there are no second chances--where death is something to be feared, rather than persevered. I am, of course, talking about Stardew Valley.

To be fair, many people could say the same thing about Bloodborne and having more fun than you did.

I don't think there is a different play style I could've picked in Bloodborne that would've made that game more of a challenge.

I like that game a lot, but I like it less than other Souls games. Like I said, it's an inherently forgiving game mechanically.

Everything took one or two tries for me except Nameless King. For some reason I always needed a lot of tries in all my playthroughs.

The silly thing is that whenever I beat him it was always a fairly "easy" run. I don't know why he throws me off so much.

Hardest "boss" in the game is that underground area with the two alligator-dogs, fuck that shit.

I had fun. I just think it's an easy Souls game.

I'm like a 21st Century Ace Ebb.
I'm not that good at video games.

Do a no levelling run and then tell me about forgiving game mechanics.
Discussing Souls games that came out after Demons Souls is a waste of time since the series clearly already peaked.

Where the fuck is Demon's Souls PS4, Sony are literally criminals for not doing it.

Fun is just a buzzword people use when they cant say something good about a game.

I'll break down what I mean then into more concrete terms.

Dark Souls offers you multiple ways to play that that might be more enjoyable to you depending on what you're looking for in the game. There're play styles that are aggressive and perhaps are a bit easy and there are other play styles that take a bit more effort to go with. I enjoy the later more.

Bloodborne doesn't offer that. There are different weapons with different speeds, but almost all of them play extremely similarly.

.

The Regain and Dodge mechanics of Bloodborne are far more forgiving than similar mechanics in Souls. They just are. They game doesn't make you make full use of them either by pushing you to master them.

Oh I agree with you Yami.

As someone who finished neither Bloodborne or DS3, but got about 4 hours in each, I found DS3 to be more engaging if only because of its characters.

All the Souls games (with the exception of DS2) are very good games and worth checking out sometime. I definitely enjoyed the lore of the DS universe a bit more than Bloodborne's, but it's also not really what I was there for personally.

Bloodborne's lore was a bit too messy for me and, as you said, it didn't really have the characters to back it. It's interesting being in this eldritch horror where everything's gone to shit, but I wished it wasn't so empty.

Everyone on the bomb crew is amazing and has their own unique role to fill. There isn't a best. Without one, there would be a gaping void left.

Jeff's stupidly deep game history knowledge is the best crew member.

pretty funny when Dan said Eva Angelina (pornstar) when trying to refer to Ave Maria in the latest VRodeo, Brad knew exactly what happened.

GTAV not making it onto the GOTY list while Black Flag (a game with fucking boat stealth) did mildy irritated me.

It's not nearly as bad as Shadow of Mordor winning anything though

I use the PS3 store once every two months, maybe, and it always crashes. Every time without fail, it will crash. Either upon loading or browsing after I've bought what I wanted. One crash per my usage, every time.

And, without fail, I'm waiting for a system restore to finish after a crash while loading the store. All I wanted to do was buy Saints Row The Third for $3.

These Mongol episodes of Hardcore History are sooooo good.

I know everyone loves Ghosts of the Ostfront, but the Mongol series is probably my favorite. There's a real pure ambition to the Blueprint for Armageddon series, but covering the entirety of WWI in Dan Carlin fashion can end up being a bit much. The series is still amazing, but there's realty something perfect about the Wrath of the Khans stuff.

The current Kings of Kings series is top notch as well.
