it was never mainstream to begin with, unless you're talking about a handful of Go Nagai or Toshio Maeda properties, and even then the harder stuff was direct to video

if anything the borderline-H stuff they show now is closer to mainstream than the "classics"

I own the DVD collection of Urotsukidoji 1 and 2. The unabridged versions.

My friend and I also bought the VHS set of Urotsukidoji 3 together, but it was kind of garbage.

2 is already a weird side-step from the first one, but it has Nazis in it so it gets a pass.

That would be 10 minutes per fighter since they use about 5 minutes to rank each game. That would be insanely rushed. I think the pace they`re on now is okay, maybe 3 games in the time they spent this episode but I don`t mind it much.

You should try RoTK 7, 8, and especially 10! Each lets you play as a single officer instead of just a ruler, and 10 does an especially good job of making that interesting. Plus it has a really fun debate minigame, so, there's that.
