I'm really not sure why but I just spent the whole evening watching Baseball quicklooks? lol

No idea why.

Also those are all Jeff and Dan QLs... So much random wrestling bullshit ugh

If that bothers you then I recommend the Madden, Fifa and college football quick looks. Giant Bomb judging team names and logos always make me laugh.

I really enjoy the Wii U QL when they play together. SMBU and Nintendo Land are cool. I wish they had played Smash together but it's just Dan and Brad in the QL. Wasted opportunity.

I think Dan forced them to play Smash U on a UPF around GOTY time when there was a lot of people in the office.

I don't know why Jeff and Dan were so negative on Edge Of Nowhere being a VR game.

VR probably needs things like that so it doesn't feel gimmicky/FPS-lite all the time? I'm sure the sense of scale is pretty cool.

You pay 600-800 dollars for something, the game needs to make damn good use of it

If VR is going to be that blink traversal and first person viewpoint all the time, I won't really be into it.

Personally speaking I don't need/want the VR headset movement to be the main mechanic of every game.

It's extra odd because doing the same combat and traversal in first person seems like it would be awkward, 3rd person sounds more approachable.

And Lucky's Tale is great, that sold me on 3rd person VR really quickly.

It just didn't seem like a great implementation, the game itself also didn't look groundbreaking either.

I think it could be done right (Luckey's Tale) but for all the hype that I was hearing about Edge of Nowhere I was seriously let down.

You know how there's kind of a 'look' with Unreal ass Unreal games? Like you can really tell they're on Unreal engine?

Necropolis is hitting that hard with the Unity engine 'look'

I will never understand the appeal of roguelikes

The numbers don't even go up

A sense of mastery as you get further and further into the game.

A good roguelike has to strike a fine balance in difficulty to ensure that new players don't get very far, but veterans and people who understand the mechanics can progress.

I did the Hitman bonus mission

and I can already tell you it's not going to go well for Brad and Dan

I can't wait for Brad to casually stroll in a clearly guarded off-limit area for no reason and then try to casually walk away when people are trying to arrest him.

I joke though, the Hitman videos are among my favourite GB content.

It's just great, because from the dots over NPC's heads to warning sighs next to certain actions to literally saying "trespassing" on the screen, Hitman couldn't telegraph when you're going to attract negative attention any more than they already do.

Unless they started printing words on the walls like Splinter Cell saying "DON'T COME IN HERE UNDISGUISED!"

To be fair, Hitman could use a mechanic where people just ask you to leave instead of getting "suspicious" immediately. In paces where it makes sense like an ice cream shop.

Agreed, especially since I play with ui off and it's not always immediately apparent where the invisible trespassing line is

If you walk slow enough, guards and NPCs will literally hold their hands up and say "You're not allowed here." Or if you leave quick enough they generally won't keep freaking out about it. First time I played The Icon I got caught by a guard and calmly escorted off set.

If there's one thing on my wishlist, it would be to let yourself get arrested. You can have guards find guns to smuggle them in, why not be able to smuggle yourself in to some holding cell deeper in the level?

Maybe let 47 pickpocket key items from NPCs too, instead having to always knock people out and give them brain damage.

Yeah, but that's only in "guarded" places. In the Icon map behind the ice cream shop
where the two SFX dudes are hanging out
is a stair. I simply walked up the stair and people became alerted to me. It's not a big deal, but it's the only thing I an think off that could be handled better without being too difficult (I think).

I also wish they would bring the Blood Money mechanic back that let you smuggle items. If you are disguised as a waiter you could pick up a tablet full of food, hide your gun in there and smuggle it past guards. That always felt super cool.

I don't think Brad ever, ever looks at the bottom left corner of the screen.

Yeah, that's true about guarded places vs. off-limits places. Multiple ways of smuggling things would be nice, too. All in all, I'm just happy we got a real Hitman game this time. I remember when Absolution came out and how I tried to convince myself it was still true to the Hitman series. Ugh. And with the episodic model, I've put more hours into this than any of the other games and it's only half over.

I can see Hitman winning a category or two at GotY time, probably placing in the top 10.

Man Absolution was such a bummer. The whole "47 has dealt with the world's most powerful people. But will he be able to take care of this rebellious teen with tude?" thing was kinda mind blowing.

I think Hitman has to be in their GotY list this year. Not Top 5, but Top 10 for sure. Probably in the run for "best surprise" too.

In my darkest of dreams, I find myself hoping that Square will see fit to give us a real Thief game after the fucking mess that was Thi4f. But I'm probably better off just thinking of Dishonored as picking up where Thief 2 left off.

SE managed to course correct Deus Ex and Hitman. I hold out hope for Thief and Tomb Raider to get games that nail what made the games special in the first place.

Wish Ubisoft paid attention to Hitman for how to go about a new Splinter Cell. Blacklist was big improvement over Conviction, but I want Chaos Theory 2 in how Hitman is Blood Money 2.

You... you found the original Garrett's mechanical eye in a hanging prison cell. They made it canon that Garrett apparently died and rotted away in a prison cell. The only true Thief mission was a pre-order bonus. They took out all the fun steampunk aesthetic with clashing religions and cults and put in a generic have's vs. have not's story with some generic magic mumbo jumbo thrown in. I put 40 hours into that piece of trash trying to find something to love about it, and I'm still mad at myself for doing so.

Plus, I don't think it sold very well.
