Nah, that's how it always was. Some videos didn't make it, some did. MN9 QL is still missing, so is the Austin stream.
I'm wondering- what VNs have you been playing? 999's about 20-25 hours and VLR (and supposedly ZTD) are about 40. There's a ton of VNs that are around there or longer; Steins;Gate took about 50 for me, even. Obviously there are a lot of shorter VNs, but for big commercial releases I don't think the length of the ZE games is actually longer.
Austin said it at one point; it's definitely coming.

Some games are less "gamey" and more like interactive media stories. Gone Home is a good story but not an amazing game.
