Yeah, Jeff's reaction is spotless. I looked that the next video and how long it runs, then decided to just stop watching for a while.
I have already spoiled myself years ago, unfortunately. These are the big twists and plot points of MGS that I know about:
According to howlongtobeat.com MGS 1 is 12 hours long, so that's not too bad. I will probably play MGS 1, then watch Metal Gear Scanlon season 1 and see where it goes from there.
Solid Snake and Liquid Snake (who impersonates some kind of army officer in MGS 1) are clones of the super soldier "Big Boss", who you play as in MGS 3, which is a prequel. The antagonist of MGS 3 is "The Boss" and you kill her in the end, but you find out that she wasn't really bad. In MGS 2 you play as Raiden but it turns out everything was just a simulation. In MGS 4 Snake is old and will die soon because of some disease these super soldier clones get. Then something about a microwave and at the end you fight against someone and the graphics and music change to represent the different MGS games (did I make that up, because that sounds fucking awesome). Also, Ocelot gets hypnotized by his arm (or maybe vice versa?) and is allied to pretty much everyone in the series at one point or another.

I think there's a difference between direct endorsement of someone and appearing on someone's show.
Also ignoring the fact that his project would be at extreme ideological odds with what those folks are trying to spew.

I have learned YT is fine once you find the right people and peel back the layers of shit. One of my fave Let's Play channels has only 15K subs, and I enjoy checking out out everyday.
I love YouTube as a tool. And some channels are entertaining. But I hate YouTube culture. It's toxic garbage.
What's the channel? I love finding new good and less well known Let's Play channels.
I don't think Drew will become a part of that kind of YouTube culture anytime soon.

Yeah, there are def good stuff on YT if you hunt and find it. Most of the bad stuff comes from when a channel gets large enough to attract trolls who actively try to destroy anything even remotely good.

pay attention to what your kids consume and it will be ok
I agree, but it's much harder to monitor a kid's YT usage where they could be in their room on their own iPad, vs TV where that's usually in the living room, fairly loud, and physically big enough for you to see it yourself

Kids watched stuff quietly on the TV in their own room plenty.
You can set parental controls or even manage the account yourself and see the Youtube History separate of the browser history.

It's easy to watch YouTube videos and avoid the YouTube culture by never reading the comments and not watching youtubers that talk about other youtubers.

yesterday I watched a Floridian man eat a slovakian MRE and a japanese lady chainsmoke while cooking eggs, youtube is pretty alright in my book.
Youtube is great, there are a lot of varied channels out there, which is why it's always disappointing to see people you like needlessly cluster around the shite when there are other options available.

That's my jam too, but there aren't as many good ones.
I'd love it, but man finding good copies of old Jackie Chan stuff (and HK in general) is such a pain in the ass.
Of course I'm a dork about it, no shitty blu ray upscales, missing original sound track, shitty fake 5.1 sfx, cuts, dubtitles instead of subtitles...
I'm sure they could find something that works I guess
