Holy shit this gif is amazing.

greg has 800k followers
jeff has 100k

dont think thats true at all

GB has over 200k

KF has only 80k

Who knows.

I have kinda wondered how well the GB crew would do if they went the independent / patreon route. Kinda Funny being the closest analogue, even with 30k per month coming in they have on there, Greg Miller is still having to slim it doing awkward hosting gigs on the side so things cant be THAT great and they are not buying lambos.

Huh. The Easy Allies guys bring in 38k per month on Patreon. Huh. Wouldnt have guessed they would make more then KF since I think a lot of those guys work 2nd jobs.

Also I also know that number can be misleading since a lot of people scam the system since I think Patreon only takings in money the first or last week of the month so people will sign up then cancel the week the payment comes then sign back up the following week.

Love Greg on PAXamania

have no experience otherwise

the little i've encountered colin is enough for me to have him pegged as a shithead

Premium seems to do well for GB.

KF isn't doing as well as I thought it would with those Patreon numbers. GAF doesn't seem to like them very much either.
Oh and they have attracted a lot of alt-right folks. Read some of their comments and you'll appreciate GB more.

One of their co-founders is the walking definition of White Privilege. Not at all surprised they attract a lot of similarly minded shit heads who view the world vicariously through Colin's "I took a Civics class in 10th grade" rants.

Who are those people?

@ByYourLogic is one of the hosts of a podcast called Chapo Trap House, that Alex has mentioned being a fan of in the past. It's a leftist/socialist podcast that has kind of come to define the "dirtbag left" mentioned in previous pages.

edit: the dude Alex is talking to, regardless of politics, is a legit huge MGS fan. I doubt anything they do together would be political.

The durability system in Zelda is even more annoying than Dead Rising. Like rather than a Dead Rising style of picking and saving weapons, I feel like I just have to throw 3 weapons total at a guy and get a weapon back thats 1/8th as good. I would have much rather had an RPG style weapon durability that lasts longer but I pay for repairs and maybe give me 3 weapon slots in case one of my major ones breaks.

I typically hate durability systems, but this throws so many weapons at you it hasn't bothered me at all. It has also done a good job of breaking me of the habit of using one weapon or weapon type for an entire game. I actually like the system quite a bit.

Calling your own show " was right" is the most internet libertarian shit ever

Funny thing is, according to Colin, the show's name actually wasn't his idea. He had another name in mind, but someone else at Kinda Funny (they never said who, but I'd guess Nick) thought CWR was a better/funnier title.

It's kinda annoying but I have to admit, throwing weapons at enemies in this feels so good.

i quite like the durability system.

i can see it'd be frustrating if you went into it with a certain mindset, but imho it's a far better solution than looking for whetstones all the time or having to compulsarily visit the blacksmith at every town or something.

The thing I don't like is that I can't witcher-style whistle up a horse anytime I want

It's especially weird when you see there's no durability to the armor. It feels very half-hearted.

and the fact that it doesn't, at bare minimum, let you set an order of weaposn to immediately switch to when yours breaks is really annoying. Like let me at least label this as 'backup weapon' instead of having to open that wheel every single time.

that at least is bullshit

the armour i get, armour isn't 'active' and doesn't interact with the systems in the same way so durability not as big a concern

i wouldn't call the durability system half-hearted at all. there's a very solid set of gameplay systems it ties into; incentive to fight for loot or to go searching for chests, but also an incentive to avoid combat. It actually makes weapons valuable in a sense, but also means you're wondering if situations are 'the right time' to use that special something instead of just charging through slaying everything all the time

So finally someonein the industry called out Colin Moriarty? Thank god, and his best comback is "idk who you are?"

That guy sucks

While this page is somewhat businessy.

I wonder how well the wiki part of the site does for them. Its one of those things they rarely talk about anymore but it does seem to be one of the first results whenever I look up a random game or games industry duder on google so maybe it gets traffic that way. I think twitch still uses it right?

Its also kind of basic for a wiki. If you want something more detailed or specific then there is probably a wikia fan wiki thats way more in dept about everything in a game. GB wiki seems more like a IMDB of games but not really. Its not particularly great at anything. Mobygames is great for credits. Wikia is great for in dept wikis for games. GB wiki is like a slightly more gamey Wikipedia but isnt as in dept on any one thing to stand out

Yeah, I wonder about that. I think it's pretty important to Jeff and you do find it a lot when looking for games.

Mobygames is usually a bit more complete, though. Especially the credits part.

I absolutely fucking hate him.

I have no idea how someone like him has been as successful as he is.

The problem is I like Greg and Tim. Kinda Funny would be monumentally better without Colin.

I'm early on so I can't speak to how later equipment will be, but it is surprising how fragile the traveler's sword and the type are. I get torches and clubs being fragile. I stumbled into one fight where I ran out of weapons trying to fight a foe. That said, Zelda is really good. Wish the performance was better.
