Ideally you want to nail both, but yeah. The biggest driver for new subscriptions this year appears to be Vinny streaming that hot new release, Dark Souls.

Anyway, this has been the worst week for me with GB. My subscription ran out last weekend and I can't afford to resub yet, so the video content has been pretty dire. Looks like there's a lot of great subscriber stuff to catch up on when I get back on though.

I know this week hasn't been the usual but I kinda get when non-subscribers complain about lack of content sometimes now. Had it not been for the Octoberkast, I wouldn't have had quite enough GB content in my life this week than I'm used to.

Out of chance I was browsing GB's Youtube channel a couple days ago, and yeah, the impression it gives to non-subs is really bad, they need to do something about it.

I really like Patrick, but between his low-production talking head stuff and sporadic quick looks, it does not give a good impression to people none the wiser - it makes GB look like all the other bedroom youtubers.

They need to take inspiration from porn sites and make the first 10 minutes of every sub video free for everyone.

Yeah, the other day I was thinking that between the end of TNT and I Love Mondays and the movement of mailbags to UPF, non-subscribers haven't seen the GB offices in a looong time.

I recommend holding off for the moment. It's super early - you can build stuff and fly around and that's about it. Building stuff is kind of a pain in the ass with the movement controls, unless I'm missing something. Have to keep awkwardly rotating and positioning yourself to place objects, and if you bump into your ship before you've built it, it will start floating away forcing you to man the cockpit and manoeuvre it back to a standstill (assuming you've already placed the necessary thrusters and reactors to do so.)

Yeah, and judging by the forums, the developers have a bit of a reputation of over-promising and under-delivering with their previous game (Miner Wars). Will be interesting to see how many of the features in their roadmap ever come to fruition.

Giant Bomb servers are slow as fuck. Its really annoying because the stuff I care most about is premium videos, so they are not on youtube.

If you have a Roku or Boxee box try those. Haven't had any problems with either one of those.

kinda random, but i don't suppose anyone has any kind of archived link for the nintendownload express from 02/07/2011...apparently it was pretty funny and had Rick The Ricker Peterson as a guest?

all links i can find to it are broken...someone posted a way-back-machine link to jeffs blog that has some of the episodes still available but that one shows up as file-not-found

Anyone else miss the early days? There was just something charming about the guys working in that basement office trying to figure out the tone of the site. It's just weird watching an unprof. fridays and then going back and watching something like this. It's really amazing how talented these guys are and how far they've come.

I also realllly miss Ryan... =(

That's the very first GB video I ever watched. If I remember correctly I was searching for Persona 4 coverage and I got that, and a whole lot else over the years.
