Jeff somehow liked FC3 despite finishing it, so I am unsure what would prevent him from enjoying FC4.

I can tell you as a fan of the series, as well as having that video be one of my first exposures to giantbomb, that it didn't go down very well at all.

No malaria or respawning enemies, so can't see why he would! It'll still have the awesome gameplay of Far Cry 3 but now with deeper systems hopefully.Wouldn't that mean that jeff would hate it?

Far Cry 4 needs to do only two things to succeed where Far Cry 3 so utterly failed:
- don't be a 3 hour game repeated 6 times over
- have a plot and characters that aren't utterly obnoxious
seems like they'll probably fail on point 2 again, but who knows, maybe they'll get rid of the bloat

Metro 2033 is intentionally different... In fact, I prefer it in the original mode, rather than in Redux because its a much more tense experience.
But, you have to want to like all the weird stuff that surrounds it. Dan clearly is not that guy. At all. I really doesn't surprise me that he complains constantly whilst playing this. He's almost making it a chore.

Dan did a playthrough of Half Life when he was at GI, and seemed to like it. He never played the game when it was released since he didn't have a gaming PC back then.
Also, this thread is getting a bit too personal now. The rules are in the OP for a reason...

I honestly think the complaints about Dan's dismissive attitude are valid. I'm not saying he has to like the game but I feel like he should at least try to articulate some sort of legit complaint beyond "this is stupid".
That's fair, but people are way overreacting. But that goes more for the comment section on the video than this thread.
I don't think he can. Neither can he articulate why he likes something. He'll just repeatedly state that he really, really likes it, because it's "awesome" (Terminator 2, for example). He can't go beyond the scope of judgments of taste and gets petulant if these are scrutinized even a tiny bit.
He has written a ton of reviews for GI, so that's just untrue.
Just watched the QL. There is literally nothing wrong with it.

Yup. Have been generally avoiding QL's unless someone here points out a good one. Wish they'd adhere more to their mantra of not covering things they're not interested in. Maybe the QL traffic is just too good compared to recording a Encyclopaedia Bombastica or something else instead?
