The flying beetle thing was my favorite part of Skyward Sword. And the art style.

Danny is probably too good to be on a gaming website really, he could easily be on tv in the uk (probably not shiny or tanned enough for the US) he comes over like an old pro.
the only way he goes to giant bomb is if the sites merge. also it would be dumb for his career too, at game sport he gets to be mecha-jeff if he stays put for a few years (unless they are morons and don't realise what they have).
dunno if this counts as weekend weirdness he just seems pretty good at that talking.

Skyward Sword was the first Zelda game I played properly, I almost didn't want to play any other games in the series after that. Luckily I gave Wind Waker HD a chance.
Yeah, that QL made me want to play Metro. I'm not at all familiar with the series but the survival mechanics looked pretty cool and its exactly the type of deviation I look for in FPS these days.
When it comes to the crew being negative about a game, I find that it doesn't influence me in anyway. Although if they are excited about something, I'll usually check it out.

Giant Bomb should have a disclaimer, like gambling websites, that says "Purely for entertainment purposes only".
Oh and since Dan and Jeff looked at the Thunder In Paradise game. If they're looking, I've been rewatching the series for a couple weeks now, and they'll be happy(or unhappy if they're normal people) to know that Brutus Beefcake, Giant Gonzales and Jim Neidhart in multiple episodes. Brutus and Jimmy are never even introduced. They just show up. Gonzales is used as a big bad in one of the first episodes then several episodes later, they stick a fake beard on him and use him as another big bad.

Wow, what a terrible Quick Look for Metro. Like, why even do it? They already skip a lot of games that they don't want to play, so why do this one? Especially like months after the game came out?
There are times when I feel like Dan Ryckert is turning into Jim Sterling before he was self-aware and realized his trolling was getting dickish. It's getting insufferable at times.

They do QLs of games they don't like all the time. See the annual Dynasty Warriors update for one example. I'm guessing Dan wanted to rant about the games, and that's why they made a QL of it.

I had a similar reaction with Danganronpa. Fan's freaked out at Patrick's description, but it made me want to play it.

The problem I have is that it just feels like a video made for clickbait to get linked around to "angry Metro fans".
I just don't get that feeling with other videos like the Smash QL where Brad and Jeff basically didn't want to be in the room for any longer than they had to.

That seems...kind of cynical and insulting. Do you think it was entirely Dan's own idea to fish for clicks in this way?
The latter two are in, just fyi. I'm expecting Ice Climbers to be DLC.
Also, while I'm certainly not big on the FE characters or Shulk (haven't played Xenoblade, yet), the slots aren't "wasted". Creating a character like Lucina who plays very similar to Marth takes way less time and money to develop than a whole new character, so they're really bonus characters more than anything.
I actually thought it ruined the game. They went too far trying to fix the stealth from metro 2033.
Those sections felt completely binary. "Are you in the dark" yes...well that means AI doesn't notice regardless of positioning and noise. It felt like I stealth through the entire game and barely needed to use any weapons.
Not to mention how much or a complete joke the ranger hardcore mode was especially since it was preorder DLC.

My problem with Dan is that his schtick only works if he occasionally says something super articulate or insightful to let us all know that he's kind of... in on it. And I haven't seen that yet --- have I missed it? It's the Norm MacDonald thing.

Shulk is a fine choice, I think, but even as a fan of the franchise I wish that there weren't so many FE characters (and the same goes for Kid Icarus - three characters for a series with as many games is ridiculous). It feels like a bit much. The rumored Chorus Men sounded like such an inspired choice and I love stuff like that and Duck Hunt Dog, Wii Fit Trainer, unexpected picks like that.
They don't include enough Fire Emblem classics. Where's Lyn? Eliwood? Hector? I haven't played FE:A yet so these new ones are complete strangers to me. They even took Roy out. There is no FE7 or FE8 representing. Fire Emblem deserves it since it's a long running franchise. I agree, more weird and odd characters. How about Aonuma's forgotten game Marvelous?
Well, Dark Pit is another Marth/Lucina situation. It's pretty much guaranteed that he doesn't "take away" a spot from someone else. I think Palutane deserves a spot, even though I'm personally not a huge fan of her big character model, heh.
Btw I felt the same way as you about the FE characters until I saw Robin/Reflet on streams. Much like Shulk, she's actually a really interesting and unique character, basically the first full magic user in Smash (unless I'm forgetting someone).

I'd like to know why they would bother to do a QL for what is essentially an "old game" at this point.
There's also the point where just because you made a video doesn't mean you have to put it up. Remember when Patrick interviewed Uwe Boll live? He decided that the interview wasn't worth anything so he just decided not to use it, even if the Uwe Boll "name" probably would have generated some hits for them.

'Offending' a few fans is not a reason to pull/cancel a QL. If it was boring, sure. But it wasn't, it was actually pretty funny.
I thought/hoped they had cleaned things up over there.

Metro 2033 is probably one of my favourite shooters of the last gen (even though the AI is aweful). Dan doesn't like it for reasons I disagree with.

I don't even care about offending fans or whatever. I just didn't like the tone of the content because, in my opinion, it felt like a "Jim Sterling in the early Destroid era" kind of troll review, where it was just needling unnecessarily.
I mean, I look at the old sports QLs where Jeff and Vinny couldn't be any less interesting in playing NCAA/Madden/NHL/NBA/The Show/Cricket/whatever and while they don't give a shit about the games they're playing, they don't feel the need to aggressively shit on the games and their need to exist.
Maybe I just need my hate to be more subdued and nuanced - I'm watching the Jeff/Brad QL of Destiny on PS3 and Jeff really can't give a shit about the game anymore but it just doesn't feel so... well, aggressive.
