Eh, I honestly have very little interest in cinema as an entertainment medium.

I watched North by Northwest for the first time recently and realized that I already seen 75% of the film in the form of Simpsons references
Sort of like the time I saw Aliens, after playing Starcraft. That game contains half the script
I probably saw The Simpsons reference the water fountain thing before I saw One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but I was definitely referring to the latter. One of my favorite movies ever.
I know there are major differences - solo, at night, in the dark vs. with a friend, during the day, in the office. But I can't help wondering if Patrick would have been scared playing that Hat man game for Spookin' or is it really as dumb and unscary as it seemed in the QL?
Its no different than someone not find video games that interesting as an entertainment medium.

Reminds me of when I finally got around to watching the original Planet of the Apes last year and had the 'Dr Zaius' song from the Simpsons stuck in my head the whole time.
That show really was like a pop culture education for me without even knowing it.
I think it's pretty different.
I think unicorns exist. Feel free to disagree! After all they're the official animal of Scotland.
Seems they recorded the podcast before the Titan cancellation news. Would have liked to hear their thoughts on it!

The gameplay looks like a David Cage game done right to me.
Well maybe over the next week we'll get some details and the conversation will be that much more informed?
This is what a cornfield looks like, honey.

I'm not even sure what a Titan discussion is at this point. We know fuck all about the project.
Dan is the greatest gift mankind has given us.
The dead of the modern MMORPG fever that companies where betting on a decade ago.
Usually that's how things go, but it's also up to the affected to decide how they want to deal with loss. Sometimes they choose to come in to work and get their mind off of it all for a few hours. My condolences to Jeff, i dunno how it is in America but i hope the company can give him some time off to properly grieve. Still i know Jeff will be allright in the end.
Dan is a singularity of intelligence and ignorance creating a fully functioning and happy human being. He has published multiple books yet at one point didn't know which part of the egg to cook. I love Dan and the spirit and enthusiasm he brings to GB but my co-worker hates him and worries for the influence he is putting into Brad and Jeff's health.
Didn't we already know that?
I guess I just don't see much value in a conversation about this with so little info out, except for a confirmation that the cancellation just happend, and yes, the subscription model seems pretty dead outside of WoW. I dunno, we knew fuck all about the game.
I think the conversation would be less about MMOs and more about what Blizzard is going to become. They said they are more free to focus on smaller games, and that they don't have any plans for an MMO now. That could lead to an interesting podcast discussion about how the industry and companies change over time.
okay so i want you to go to amazon and start reading the free preview sections for the air force gator books

I didn't see that part. Okay yeah, that would've been pretty interesting. I guess Hearthstone is doing well for them then.
Throughout the interview, Metzen and Morhaime suggested that the recent trend of smaller-scale Blizzard releases like Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm has played a part in the company moving away from Titan.
Canceling Titan was the ultimate proof of Blizzard's strength, not a weakness
"I think the lesson that comes around again is just making damn sure that the things we commit to do and the things we burn calories on and the things we commit to our community that we will do are coming from a place of focus and inspiration," Metzen said.
He explained that Hearthstone had helped the studio realize that they don't need to fit themselves into the box of only making products of a certain scale.
"Maybe we can be what we want to be and inspire groups around the company to experiment, get creative, think outside the box and take chances on things that just might thrill people," Metzen said. "Maybe they don't have to be these colossal, summer blockbuster-type products."
lol at dan "film major" ryckert not knowing what rack focus is.
the next part of the book is Air Force Gator digging into Osama's compound like Bugs Bunny (and when someone points out that gators can't dig like that, a soldier says that Air Force Gator is special, which I'm assuming was taken from an actual real life conversation Dan had while describing his book) and then he catches Osama watching porn and he rips his arms off and Osama has a tiny dick and he rips off Osama's dick and he says great one liners like "I'm gonna rip your dick off, and then I'm gonna kill you" and then he blows up the place
This all happens in 2005 so I'm sure that Dan deftly handles the political and historical implications of Osama being killed during George W. Bush's second term
