Honestly Bethesda was the best. Showed some good games and had a great vibe.
At least we can all agree EA was the worst, right?

Who had Da Hoop God last year was that Sony?
I thought Sony's E3 last year was boring back then, and totally understood why the duders were down on it.I mean, we can all agree retroactively that last year's Sony conference was weak too, right? I feel like if we gave this one another year we'd agree with their lukewarm sentiments as well, people just want to be excited while the hype train is still going.
Kinda agree with Giant Bomb. Everyone saying it's the best conference by far, I agree with you, but only because best is just a comparative. It's overall just been an alright E3, and Sony is the best comparatively. Sony announced some cool games, but there was nothing too huge (except Kojima I guess), and it didn't really have a good flow. Horizon still looks great, RE7 looks too weird for me but looks great for people who enjoy horror games, TLG is happening, and I like the God of War shakeup. Everything else was fine
Wow seems like I have the complete opposite opinion for Sony from posters here. Thought it was great! I agree about Days Gone. It wasn;t very impressive at all. And also a lot of teasers with little substance. But the teasers still psyched me out.
I think this thread is insane. I imagine most people are parroting what the Giant Bomb crew said?
Crash was never good.
Who said they wanted this?I thought Sony's E3 last year was boring back then, and totally understood why the duders were down on it.
This year I'm discovering that "show and announce a lot of games" isn't the point of E3 presentations as I assumed was universally agreed upon my whole life, but it's about executives being celebrities and "using the stage" and boring state of the platform speeches and padding it out with the specific info that's best reserved for the showfloor demos and post-conference press releases and interviews, which is a completely alien idea to me.

Thanks! Says it was posted 5 hours ago but looks like it just went up recently or was hidden? Weird, I didn't see it when I searched 45 minutes ago.
Don't get me wrong, GB makes the EA conferences the best every year. But they're also the god damn worst every year.
I agree. I think this thread is insane. I imagine most people are parroting what the Giant Bomb crew said?
George Carlin said:Living in this country, you're bound to know, every time you're exposed to advertising, you realize once again that America's leading industry, America's most profitable business is still the manufacture, packaging, distribution and marketing of bullshit. High-quality, grade-A, prime-cut, pure, American bullshit. And the sad part is, is that most people seem to have been indoctrinated to believe that bullshit only comes from certain places, certain sources: advertising, politics, salesmen. Not true, bullshit is everywhere. Bullshit is rampant. Parents are full of shit, teachers are full of shit, clergymen are full of shit, and law enforcement people are full of shit. This entire country is completely full of shit, and always has been. From the Declaration of Independence to the Constitution to the Star-Spangled Banner, it's still nothing more than one big steaming pile of red, white and blue all-American bullshit.

Yes, those who disagree with you are 100% parroting opinions and are in no way putting effort into making posts which explain their thoughts.

I just feel like the entire industry, Sony included, has been explaining and selling the world VR for like three years now, and if you're in the group that's going to be an early adopter to buy a $400 headset at this point you know what it's all about. They're releasing a $400 VR headset and said fuck all about it, they absolutely should have spent more time talking about it. Lots of people watch the streams and pay no attention to articles about what happens on the show floor, they wasted a good opportunity to describe what it is they're selling and why it's worth the price of a console.
"If only Kojima went out and explained his game a bit!"
They could have given him an hour up there and we'd be even more confused than we were after the trailer.
I understand GB but it is incredibly baffling what they wanted out of this show. I am at a complete loss honestly.
If you're talking about what GB said, you clearly weren't paying attention to what they were saying. They were commenting that the VR portion of the conference was too vague and having someone up there to show off what the user was doing to make the character in the game function would be helpful to show off how VR works. You claim that they've been showing off how their VR headset works for three years, yet I still have yet to find out how any of those games outside of Resident Evil are going to work. I'm clueless to how Batman and Star Wars control, and Farpoint was detailed far better in a couple minutes of the GB post conference talk than it was for the entire demo on stage. They didn't say that they needed some executive up there to ramble on for the entire show, they were just saying that having someone up there to point out what the user was doing to play the game would be helpful in showing off what the games were. Especially when like half of the things they showed off for their VR headset didn't have any sort of demo in the first place.I've seen that sentiment repeated in here and on the stream.

You have to be intentionally obtuse to have this be the take away from the discussion. People genuinely didn't know if CoD was a vr thing or just the game until a bit later because Sony did fuck all in order to frame the conference in any cohesive manner.Haha, I feel like I'm in bizzaro world. We need more pie charts, graphs and sales numbers damnit.

I'm also gonna say nothing about the VR segment felt confusing at all, except the half a second where I was like, "Is this still VR? Okay no it's CoD, cool."

See stuff like this is fun but really makes them seem like amateurs. Getting excited about something is great, but if you're a video game journalist, you really should be more poised than this.https://www.twitch.tv/easyallies/v/72202773

I think this is the reaction some people want out of GB at all times.
