I'm not sure I have a favorite comedy. Movies I thought were funny as a kid, are probably cringe-worthy now. As of late, I think the duo of the 21 Jump Street/22 Jump Street films from Phil Lord and Chris Miller are hilarious. I also always love seeing Will Ferrell's The Other Guys.

Young Frankenstein is the best comedy of all time. So is Ghostbusters.

Sucks that it's not available on any digital service. It appears to have to do with Gene Wilder (who passed away last year). Many of his movies seem unavailable to buy on streaming services. It's such a quotable movie.

Won't lie I'm behind a bit on beastcast and bombast.....but just saw on my YouTube feed Ben and brad playing kingdom hearts, watching right NOW!

I was Lucky enough to get both PS4 collections from prime day.

does The Room qualifies?

It's start-to-finish hilarious, and gets funnier with every subsequent watch. I don't care if it's intentional or not, it's one of the greatest movies of all time for me.

My other favs are Holy Grail/Life of Brian, Office Space, Big Lebowski. Probably forgot something.

I don't find '80s comedy funny. Ghostbusters does nothing for me. Fight me. '80s sci-fi and horror are fucking great though.

it's weird how with TV it's much easier

the Simpsons, Seinfeld, and Always Sunny are the real viable options

After Seinfield and Frasier ended I fell off comedies on TV tbh.

e: I should clarify that I fell off when I watched them all in their entirety way after both shows ended. I just feel nothing is at their level right now. I could be wrong but that's how I feel, closest thing is maybe Becker but even then.

e2: Thinking about it though, my favorite "comedy skit" type show is In Living Color.

Giant Bomb should start a new feature called "Revisited"

It's the opposite of Unfinished.

They revisit games that have changed a lot since release with patches and DLC's.

It's weird that they touch Warframe often enough between Rorie and Jeff.

However, that Star Trek Online lifetime subscription is just sitting there.

I love all those shows, big fan of Curb, Frasier and Rick and Morty too, but most TV comedies are total garbage.
Arrested Development
You're The Worst
Better Off Ted
Eastbound and Down
Archer
Home Movies
The Life & Times of Tim
Happy Endings
Coupling
Peep Show
Community
Parks & Rec
The Office
Flight of the Conchords
Louie
The Last Man on Earth
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Extras
Venture Bros
Broad City
Legit
Man Seeking Woman
Bojack Horseman
Search Party
Boondocks
Silicon Valley
Veep
Harvey Birdman
Baskets
Galavant
People of Earth
Psych
Wilfred
Raising Hope
Wonderfalls
Keen Eddie
Reaper
The Good Guys

Enjoy.

I don't enjoy a lot of comedies, but I found Archer in particular to be very overrated. I've said it before, but "phrasing" is the same joke as "that's what she said," which has been played out for half a decade.

In the past year I started watching It's Always Sunny and have found it to be revelatory, though.

Oh man, how did I forget Eastbound and Down? Hilarious shit.

Archer's first three or so seasons are very good, but then it gets up its own ass with callbacks and references.

You know what's funny? Giant Bomb.

A grown man expressing amazement that you can customize the dimensions of furniture that you build from scratch. You can't write that shit.
Love you Dan.

Spaced will always be one of my most favourite comedy series. It does such a great job as presenting the entire cast of losers but they're rarely the butt of the joke because of it. Fast forward 10 years and Big Bang theory's making fun of nerds because they're nerds.

Also The IT crowd.

Pyre is pretty freaking good I think.

Everything about Pyre's so fucking weird and I love it.

All this listing of comedies reminds me that my favorite thing about Ben is that he actually seems to try and keep pace with modern pop culture, which is a nice change on the site. Though I guess Abby and Alex see the most movies, but all Beast movie conversations get bogged down in Dan's terrible opinions and Vinny's bizarre inability to remember the name of any movie he's ever seen.

To be fair I've met enough people who can't even follow an IKEA instruction sheet that I don't really expect everyone to be good at handiwork.

I'm on vacation but I read through the last 10 pages to catch up. Responses:

I like the Splatoon talking intro. Marina and best girl Pearl are fun and it's a good conceit for slipping in updates when they are there.

Casino Royale and Skyfall were great. 2/4 is pretty good, not to mention QoS writing strike issues and that Spectre isn't bad either (just too long at the end of with the dumb fun house thing).

Harry Potter movies: 1>6>7-2>4>2>7-1>5>3 (I love you Cuaron but you fucked with my story). Books too hard to rank but generally get better as the go.

I like Game Informer a lot. I get frustrated by some of the hate playing too sometimes but can't speak to if that applies to KH and regardless not the best tone in that tweet.

Best comedy: Groundhog Day. Funniest Comedy: Hot Fuzz

I enjoy Arrested Development, South Park, and Wilfred for TV comedy.

eh

that happens somewhat often enough on UPF!

it happened most recently with wardogs

watch dogs

warframe, that's the one.

Titanfall 2 on last UPF as well :^)

Well, that's what made me think they should spin it off into its own feature.
