Now that Gary's almost never on the show anymore it's rarely worth listening to.

As far as the podcast goes I'd say I actually prefer Wesley over Gary. He's more knowledgeable and a LOT less Apple centric. Gary is either bitching about something or loving way too much an Apple product. It's gets annoying after a while.

But yeah, I barely go to the site anymore. Except for the space stuff they do from time to time I really don't care for much of the content they post anymore. You need to be a fan of Coffee or Cameras to like Tested nowadays.

I still listen to the podcast cause I don't have anything else to listen at the end of the week so it fills a gap but it tends to anger me when Will and Norm talks about topics they don't really know much about (ie: Videogames) and start saying bullshit as facts. They should add a new section at the beginning of the podcast everyweek to correct the last week's mistake.

I hate that this is true, but it is true. I don't listen to the tested podcast unless Gary is on. He is relatable and down to earth while Will and Norm (especially Will) take things waaaayyy too seriously.

That's a shame. Why is that?
The podcast is a shell of its former self. Will and Norm were never that great on it together (they don't really bounce off each other and conversation can feel awkward/forced) but people like Gary and Ana added much needed personality and played the part of the listener really well. Everything just jelled.

Tested's new direction also affected things a bit - you could tell they were struggling with what they wanted to talk about vs. what they felt they had to talk about (sometimes even the guests noticed this).

And the Adam podcasts are just weirdly sycophantic.

Ana's departure had the biggest impact for my enjoyment. She really livened up the conversations, even though she wasn't really on that many of them.

I rarely listen anymore for this reason, their personalities don't really go together well as co-hosts. They sound weirdly at odds with each other a lot of the time and often times it just spirals into correcting each other over things neither of them are knowledgable enough about.

You need the Gary/Will/Norm trinity. It's the god combo. Anything less doesn't trigger. Gary kept Will in check, Will kept norm in check, Will and Norm kept Gary in check.

I use to go to Tested.com every day and listen to the podcast every week back in the Whiskey Media days. Now I don't do either, and I'm not totally sure why that is to be honest. Gary Whitta being on or off their podcast doesn't make any difference to me.

Probably the odd one out but I kind of prefer it without Gary.
They talk less about games when he's not there, and that's a good thing, because it's not their main focus and hearing them .. generalise and make blanket statements was not enjoyable for me to listen to.

Personally I found myself going to the site a lot less after the Whiskey breakup, due to the fact I navigated to them through the footer on Giant Bomb whenever there was an interesting headline.

I miss Gary's wit and chemistry but I do not miss his Apple fanboyism.

I enjoy the shows when Loyd "Murder was the" Case appears because he's always got a well informed perspective that often contradicts the conventional wisdom and assumptions that Will and Norm make.

Most of all I miss the real world perspective brought by Ana. Someone who existed outside of the echo chamber that the others would still listen to.

That said, Tested did a good video with Jamie recently in which he tested the Oculus Rift.

Oh and I know he and Gary did not mix well but I would like to see Gordon Mah Ung return for an episode. He is the anti-Gary.

I havnt actually finished a non-gary cast this year. Tested went from my favorite podcast to something I only bother to check if I have nothing else to listen to. I know it isnt their fault that he is busy, but the general direction of the podcast has suffered since the whiskey media split too.

Man, a good WANGcast was easily one of the best tech podcasts ever recorded. Ana was great at stopping Will and Norm from disappearing too far up their own arses with what they think tech should be. She did a fantastic job of finding a personality for their first videos too.

Same. The personalities that are currently there just don't resonate very well. Will and Norm were best when they could bounce off Ryan and Jeff, making the Tested stuff feel like mini-smart episodes of Kenny Vs Spenny. Now all that's left is Will vs Norm in a polite friction relationship, that gets tiring. Adam and Jaime contribute almost nothing to that reporte, and no one else is there to pick up the slack.

I still like listening to them talk tech, but it's not funny and rarely interesting. That video they have about building a powerful PC in 2013 should have been gold, but it was just kinda...meh.

Will and Norm need to add people with stronger opinions and speech abilities that can work off each other in a conversation more often.

Does he no longer do the cast?

He's busy with his kid + like two movie projects (or maybe just full-scale production on one). He was never in an employee relationship with tested anyway, it was always a "Well I live in the area and I like to talk" thing

How narcissistic. Figures, he's British, they are totally full of themselves.

Still love you Whitta.

Fuck Ryan and his Hawkeye hate!

I think its a fair thing to say if you had no idea about the amazing new Hawkeye book. Its hard to keep up with comics these days. Because before that I didn't really have much of an interest in him or his character. Now its pretty much my favorite.

Hawkeye is Robin/Nightwing in the Marvel universe.

Patrick hopping on board the Kotaku defense train on Twitter. Come on man.

Same here. I actually just removed my subscription to the Tested podcast because I just find it boring. :(

I had to STRUGGLE when I first started the podcast ages ago to get over Norm and Will's awful chemistry. Constant, rude interruptions and general lack of information or just pure MISinformation. It never got much better, but I managed to get used to it.

It seems like it's come back in a big way lately in addition to the complete lack of focus since their "reboot." I liked hearing about tech news and impressions, not everything from kids, science, art, and everything else they found on some other news site.
I still like their ORIGINAL content and videos, but when they just parrot other places news stories (that cover it better and in more depth) I figured I should just start going to dedicated science/tech/art sites and podcasts.

It was a short time after Norm's "Youtube DJ" discussion that I started losing interest in the Tested podcast and figured maybe it wasn't for me anymore. I'm sure they're enjoying a different kind of success with the way Will talked about how their videos are receiving more exposure by the merit of just being on youtube but without Gary, I can't take the podcasts anymore.
