Did they ever look at Neverwinter? I actually know a lot of people who are enjoying it more than they thought they would.

Now that Rorie is there maybe they should. Otherwise they should not bother since "Hey, it's an MMO" argument get's thrown around too much.

that would mean actually producing content for the site, unless patrick can do it from his bedroom its not going to happen while there are good excuses not to.

(its summer theres no games being released at retail! thus we cant look at any games at all! E3! Jeff is away this week!)

Wasn't Dave coming in to do the Neverwinter QL? I don't know if it's still in the works though, since it seemed like they had some problems when he tweeted about it.

It is crazy to think Patrick creates more content in his bedroom than Ryan does at his desk.

every once in a while i just throw endurance run up on the other monitor while I do something else. It's so great just to have jeff and vinny shooting the shit and then occasionally commenting on the game

He's busy with his kid + like two movie projects (or maybe just full-scale production on one). He was never in an employee relationship with tested anyway, it was always a "Well I live in the area and I like to talk" thing

Coincidentally Gary stopped showing up on the podcast when he moved to Pacifica (well I think it's Pacifica? anyway) so that means he's actually kinda far from the Tested office nowadays.

Same here. I actually just removed my subscription to the Tested podcast because I just find it boring. :(

I had to STRUGGLE when I first started the podcast ages ago to get over Norm and Will's awful chemistry. Constant, rude interruptions and general lack of information or just pure MISinformation. It never got much better, but I managed to get used to it.

It seems like it's come back in a big way lately in addition to the complete lack of focus since their "reboot." I liked hearing about tech news and impressions, not everything from kids, science, art, and everything else they found on some other news site.
I still like their ORIGINAL content and videos, but when they just parrot other places news stories (that cover it better and in more depth) I figured I should just start going to dedicated science/tech/art sites and podcasts.

I don't necessarly mind when podcasts starts talking about random stuff (hey...that's one of the reason I love the Bombcast) but the problem with Tested is that they don't know what they are talking about and won't admit it. So, instead of saying thing as theories or "maybe" they say everything as facts and end up looking really stupid having to correct all of the previous week's mistakes at the beginning of the show every weeks.

i dont visit the site anymore, i check out the odd youtube video but the content isnt as fun to watch as it used to be. im guessing its part to the lack of bombcast guys in the office space and it seems like theyre struggling with an identity crisis for the site. wills bro-crush and desire to become adam savage is grinch worthy too.
i still enjoy the podcast for the most part. i miss gary but hes got a new will smith and possibly scientology now.

i like the random topics too but i agree with the lack of fact checking. they've always kind of sucked at reliable information but now that they try to cover more topics, many of which they know nothing about they're really bad, especially will. the podcast is still good for entertainment value but for information or advice i would avoid.

1) Mailed off a package today. They should be getting it Wednesday!

2) E3 thread is going to be awesome.

I have exams on the 10th and 11th.

EDIT: Wait, is E3 the 11th through the 13th? Then I may be able to watch all of it after all!

EDIT 2: Nevermind, both Microsoft and Sony are on the 10th, even though the E3 official site says E3 is the 11th through the 13th :<

"Hey it's an MMO" is a perfect argument for the vast majority of MMO's because they truly do not do anything outside of wow clone + gimmick X.

Is the amount of English spoken a big deal to Americans when going on holiday? Patrick has mentioned it a lot about Iceland. I mean, you can pretty much get by anywhere in the world I've found - people shouldn't worry about that shit, just see the world.

A $800ish PC is "modest but capable" now, Patrick?

I didn't hear this comment but I don't think that is that far off. If he is talking about the PC he was given that's an accurate summation. Basically he got an i7 that is 2 generations old(very soon to be 3 gen old), and a lower mid-range graphics card(7850). The computer is a tremendous gift and is basically a graphics card upgrade away from being a legitimate high end gaming rig, but it's not insulting to talk about it in realistic terms. It's a very nice foundation for a computer considering the processor and the fact that it came with a SSD and HDD, but ultimately for gaming performance the graphics card is the most important piece and I would call a 7850 a modest but capable graphics card. If he choose to invest $300-$400 of his own money to upgrade the graphics card to a 7950/GTX670/7970 it would be a high end rig.

Yeah, not speaking a common language with the locals complicates things, but it's not really any kind of obstruction for an ordinary style holiday.

you can describe literally every genre on the planet that way

The vast majority of FPS do not do anything outside of Call of Duty + gimmick X
The vast majority of TPS do not do anything outside of Gears of War + gimmick X
The vast majority of platformers do not do anything outside of Mario + gimmick X
The vast majority of 4X games do not do anything outside of Civilization + gimmick X
The vast majority of RTS games do not do anything outside of Warcraft + gimmick X
The vast majority of JRPGs do not do anything outside of Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest + gimmick X
The vast majority of sports games do not do anything outside of Madden + gimmick X
The vast majority of character action games do not do anything outside of God of War + gimmick X

Welcome to the concept of game genres.

I kind of felt it wasnt worth listening to after they changed the direction of the site.

This is true as well, I feel like they still don't know exactly what they want to focus on in the show, and as a result you get an awkward mix of multiple things (art, science, tech, kids, videogames, etc.) instead of a fluid conversation over one general topic (tech) with occasional side conversations.
