No, it was Lost Worlds, Olympics, and Sonic Boom. So it was a complete disaster.
Olympics has some pretty great Mario remixes (and a lot of them, too).

major MGS2 spoilers
Some of it is a deliberate attempt to remind players of MGS1-- the Colonel's speech about the Codec and the Soliton Radar are both completely copy-pasted from the same tutorial speech in MGS1, just with "Snake" changed to "Raiden." Other parts of it are to highlight the fact that Raiden's entire base of training has been VR Missions, especially those which are simulations of Shadow Moses.
This all, in its own way, comes into play with the Colonel being an AI and the whole mission being a live recreation of Shadow Moses and the entire game being a huge commentary on the moral bankruptcy of sequels to works of fiction etc.
I suspect this sort of stuff is what Dan was alluding to when he mentioned he was picking up on so much stuff in the Plant intro.
Also the part where the Colonel sounds weirdly robotic. Paul Eiding knocked it outta the park in MGS2.
