I'm still incredibly hyped for FFXV. Please be as good as I think you can be.

I was really looking for another gacha. Hit me up.

Just shake the PAD Dragon's hand a few more times. I'm certain that will be more fun that SE's thing.

Throw that mobile game wars shade.

So create an account that doesn't have your name/personal info on it, it's not that hard man. or if you're on facebook or something, lock down your account to the outside world. don't just have a twitter account that says "I'm Bill Jintor and I work for Venture Industries and I think {x}" that anybody can read

i mean sure i'd just private all my accounts, but I don't think I could be arsed making a separate account just to vomit forth my thoughts about politics from really...

Call me shallow but I still have trouble getting past the part where all the main dudes in FFXV look like a Hot Topic starter pack.

It will probably be as good as every other final fantasy game which is not good at all

Patrick's article is not reporting, so please don't call it good journalism. It's an op-ed piece. Your grandma can mail one off to a newspaper (whether or not it still exists) at this very moment. Lazy actual reporting and being an advocate is all you need to be considered a good "journalist" in the games media. Raise your expectations folks!

- reached out for comments from both sides
- provided history and context for why news was important
- noted that information was still unknown and made reservations

= lazy actual reporting

yeah, nah

If Greg Miller is gaming's Chris Hardwick, what does that make Geoff Keighley?

You know, I used to liken him to Ryan Seacrest. He seems to have a lot of producing power, it least when it comes to things that involve singing/musical acts. I think Keighly has similar producing power, but for video games. And more recently, Hardwick for all things geeky/nerdy, though I'm a bit sad he's now advertising for Comcast.

Are you guys (one gal?) not familiar with Greg Miller at all? Fella wants attention. You got to get it wherever it comes from. Why is this surprising?

That Nintendo firing thread is a dumpster fire. Instead of waiting for details, everyone is burning Mario in effigy and blaming demons in shadows. It comes off as children arguing with the bogeyman. Both sides are comically unhinged and look silly to casual observers. No one cares outside of this bubble. You could fill a small minor league hockey stadium with both frothy-mouthed, potentially-bearded sides of the issue. And I can't sling my frickin' hay because all of the pitchforks have been taken to Nintendo's stoop! I'm not even going to get into how I was going to use a torch to start my own dumpster fire. It's not happening. Tickets will be refunded.

This girl lost her job for a reason and Nintendo is not obligated to tell you why. They don't want to tell you why because it's probably equally embarrassing for both parties. Does it have to do with her stance on certain unsavory issues? Maybe. Could it be for some completely unrelated issue? Probably. Combo platter, mostly likely! Life goes on. She'll have to move forward and hopefully be left in peace and Nintendo will be Nintendo. They will never serve tacos... even if you ask. Don't ask. As I have said to myself many times in the mirror, "The best response to jerks on the internet is no response... and never ask for a high five from anyone in a $500+ suit."

VR looks kind of boring and hard on your neck. I can get that experience from people watching at the county fair/demolition derby, and it don't cost $600. Y'all.

What about that Giant Bomb though amirite?

They harassed her?

They're fueling speculation a half-assed detective hunt to dig up more dirt on her by disclosing that nebulous "second job" thing. I've worked in corporate America for over 20 years and never have I seen an HR department disclose the reason for an employee's termination. All they're supposed to say is that the person is no longer employed. Or most of the time they won't even say that much, they simply don't comment. Sometimes both parties will release prepared statements, like when it's an executive or high profile employee. But commenting like that to an IGN reporter? That's super amateur hour and makes NoA's HR and Corporate Communications departments both look very shitty.

Oh my god. That made me spit out some water.

I would genuinely like to know what Japan thinks about those characters. People elsewhere are like "pffft hipsters/hot topic" but to them they basically resemble male escorts

does Nomura think this is cool? why does he think it's cool? is he currently in a room finding places to add more belts? why does he still have a job?

Did anyone see Patrick's update to the article? Nintendo made a statement that she was not fired due to the GamerGate stuff, but instead because he had a job on the side. Not sure I buy that.

I assuming this is a joke, but since the internet is bad with sarcasm, I will say how awful this idea is.

If you make your money giving thoughts and opinions on things, you shouldn't be taking PR gigs on the side.

I was being super sarcastic. But I would love to see Jeffs full blown cynicism presenting ffzv

He's squarely targeting fujoshi. If the Tales series had these exact same designs with a bit more fantastical clothing, I would not have been shocked.

It is what it is.

People's public comments/side jobs aren't a problem for a company until it becomes a problem.

Sucks she got harassed, sucks she got fired, Nintendo sucks because corporate policy always sucks.

Making a big deal about not being able to give the date until the end is the funniest shit given the leak.

You think they would've adapted their event plans because of that.

Everything about FFXV's weird mix of Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Modern styling does it for me. It's such a damn weird looking style. Japanese weirdness at its tops.
