Gintama° Series 3 |OT| It's Not Digimon Tri, But It'll Have To Do!

Thus episode is better if you've watched kuroko no basuke. Good to see Sakamoto back more regularly but could've done more with this flashback style episode. Still it was pretty funny. I still would actually like some more flashbacks of the actual Joi war.

This episode was probably the weakest. All the jokes fell flat, I've never liked Sakamoto (he's annoying and unfunny), and even Katsura felt off in this episode despite being a great character otherwise. Sugita playing the straight-man doesn't work out as good as when Shinpachi does it. Only joke I really liked was when Katsura did that math problem in the flashback, and the feminist dude's pretty funny too...but gotta say, I'm really not looking forward to next week if it's more of this. I'm hoping this was one of those really slow intro episodes and next week delivers.

The other seasons had some weak episodes with flat jokes too. Hell the entire Gundam/Star Wars parody arc with Elizabeth was weak.

The thing with Gintama is despite some flat episodes every now and then, most of it is very good, which is impressive for a show with 250+ episodes.

This episode wasn't the funniest, but it was still amusing to me as a Kuroko no Basket fan. Also great timing as the Generation of Miracles flashback arc in the Kuroko anime just recently ended too.

I am not reading the manga, but god this episode. This is one of those times were I wouldn't even be suprised if this was the start of a serious arc... xD

Great episode. I loved the end. This is either going to be the start of a hilarious arc or a action packed serious one.

Haven't read or watched Kuroko so the episode didn't do a whole lot for me in terms of jokes.

Oh wow, they did a callback to that Joi image that people always talk about on forums in the post credits scene. Yeah, who is that guy lol?

The Kuroko references were pretty good those episode, especially the lineup. Also "Ghost in the Hell"...Ghost in the Shell. Cool that they played the Madao theme too, though I think this one would've been more fitting going by the title.

Gintoki x Hijikata episodes are always good, so looking forward to next week.

weird seeing Sakamoto without his glasses at the start. Lol at Gintoki singing the Doraemon theme song. At first it started pretty silly but ended up being a little emotional. Kick the can is still coming up in Gintama for some reason.

Loved the episode, it was hilarious.

I didn't notice but Kurukono is in the opening for this episode during the generation of miracles sitting on the rooftop.

Thought this episode was much better, but this was still sort of a weak Arc imo---felt sort of pointless, and not in the usual Gintama way where I enjoy the pull-the-rug moment.

Favorite part was definitely the feminist dude screaming and fainting when he saw the other ghosts.

I always thought the worst Arc in Gintama is probably the Otae Fanclub Battle, though. Had a ton of potential but it's super drawn-out despite being a pure humor arc, and a lot of the jokes (except Takatin) fall super flat.

Anything with the idol is usually the worse. Takatin is still one of the funniest people in Gintama so it's 50/50 for me.

Finally we got a great episode from this season! I always love Toshi/Gin episode as they both have a love able relationship since their so similar to each other. The lottery ticket escapade and the Fist of the North Star references were great alongside Gin trying to rightfully get the money back. Love it.

Best moment of the Movie too.

With the anime running back again, I caught up with like 100 chapters of the Manga, up to the latest.

Hoooooly shit.

I'm really glad we have a lot of great materials to cover. And with Gintama, the anime usually enhances the jokes. Great times ahead.

I love how the whole Episode this Time was about Advertizing.

And god damn, even though we all know how Otae can be, she was scary this Time!

Caught up with the anime, that was a lot of fun. Though is it me or does the new season seem to be a bit more random with the humor? Especially the first arc. The latest few episodes have been great though.

Also, not sure what to think of this change they made from the manga with next week's episode (spoilers, though nothing different from what's in the preview):

. The other half of the episode was fine but I've never been a fan of Otae-chan. I'm super excited for the gender bent arc coming up next week.

HAHAHA OH MAN THIS EPISODE! I won't spoil the look of everyone that changed from a man to a woman and a woman to man but that is the main reason to see this right now. Kagura's reaction was amazing with him ripping his dick off to Gintoki touching his boobs and calling himself vagina as a new name. Poor Shinpachi is still treated as glasses with that only changing instead of being a girl. Otae's reaction to everyone having bigger breaths than her was amazing. Seeing Toshiro and the reason why he's a fat woman makes so much sense oh god. Everything in this episode was amazing and they even changed the End to reflect all the changes. They even got new voice actors for some characters which are doing a great job replacing the old ones. Gintama is so fucking good you guys.

This Arc enjoys a very well reception already hahaha

During the credits it shows characters that were gender swapped in the episode and I assume the different VA. If I could determine what it says easily I'd tell you all of them, but I picked out Gintoki's (now Ginko): Haruka Tomatsu.

Slightly fixed since some of the character names were actually changed as shown in the episode and from the recent character page update on Sunrise's Gintama anime page. :p

I also like how TV Tokyo's Gintama anime page update pretty much says "The characters information has undergone a sex change".

I actually thought Kondo was gonna end up looking like Otae...that's what I thought the joke was gonna be when they hid her face when she first appeared after the switch.

I thought the chick who turned out to be Kondo was Kyubei's caretaker trying to creep on her like usual.
