GirlGAF |OT 2| Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Eve?

only for your amusement. I did the same btw, referring to the bangs -.-

this is after my desperate attempt of styling them (but they're still weird+fringy as hell):

but actually I woke up to this (and it looks much worse in RL):

Started the Blackwell Legacy this morning. I'm already hooked.
I'm already trying to budget the Blackwell Epiphany :(

Isn't it great!? And Blackwell Epiphany is way too expensive. :( Hopefully it will go down in price during the winter sale!

that was no comparison shot, that was actually a real one I took outside.
but thanks guys. <3 definitely feel far from cute with that hair but it still cheered me up :,)

So, so awesome. Really out of left field, too, I didn't expect it to be so engaging, I overshot my bedtime by a few hours and now I'm groggily preparing to be picked up in an hour for a lunch/interview combo... I can shower, or I can study the interview primer, but I'm not sure I can do both :p I should call it the Blackwell Curse, already having a detrimental effect on my life
just kidding, so worth it, usually it's a book that keeps me up like that!

Shhh! You're gorgeous and your hair looks amazing! You have nothing to worry about, chuck, I promise.

What do you have against Cassini and/or Saturn? :(

I am so SICK of Saturn. Blah blah blah check out my rings blah blah blah BLAH.

I have no problems with a BDSM sex game, but For Men Only? What the fuck? Do they not think women have like.... urges and stuff, too? ._.;
LOL, I'm willing to bet it's not a BDSM sex game at all. Take a look at this:
http://eschergirls.tumblr.com/post/63569947180/rag-doll-witch-submitted-i-cant-tell-the
Hahahaha what raunchy, naughty games! Or something. e_e

Edit: yup, look at the actual game:
https://www.kabam.com/games/angel-alliance
Yet another pathetic mobile F2P RPG clone. Bahahah, if anyone clicks on that and expects a sexy porn game, they're gonna be disappointed... xD

Morrigan Stark

The entire game has absolutely nothing to do with BDSM. This was linked by Transhuman:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013...omens-to-read/

Hehe yup. Article said it better than I could. I remember seeing those ads mocked mercilessly on Eschergirls.

Also:
And there’s farming. Yes indeed, this most boobalicious of games is, quite dominantly, a farming simulator. Not one you can actively enjoy without paying real-world money, of course. And even then I think “enjoy” might require a severe dose of the crazies.

I finally signed up for a sewing class. :D Yay, now I'll be able to make super dorky costumes!

I finished summer classes and I find myself having a really hard time waking up unless I have work. And then when I wake up, I just kind of lazy around and do nothing. My mind feels so tired, but I wanna be productive now that I don't have to study for stuff on top of work. My mind however says no. ;-;

I hate to make this my first post in GirlGAF, but I've gotten pretty frustrated with this ad over the last few days:

S0pKoFw.jpg

Can a request be made to take it out of rotation?

I'm not ordinarily bothered by the perceived gender divide in gaming, but I don't think that this is the sort of advertisment that admins would want to represent the site with.
"Warning: MEN ONLY" was always a pretty awful way to get clicks for your game.

That looks pretty tame compared to other FOR MEN ONLY ads I've seen. At least the woman in this one is clothed.

Because she isn't tied up just holding a sword.

Huh, that is a sword. I thought she was tied to a beam too.

thanks so much you gals. really made me feel better about it :D

feel you so much :/ I always try to set small goals for the day to make getting up worth it but...eh...doesn't really work out most of the time.

I am sooooo not amused. I'm jealous. My hair would never do that. It looks really cute, so don't stress about it. :)

I did laugh at the Jim Carrey ref pic, though. :D

I have a hard time waking up and I have tons of work to do. :p According to my more morning/cheerful other half, if you do a little work out routine right when you get up, it'll be easier to skip the blah and head straight to productive. I'm going to try that starting Monday since 6 coffees don't seem to be working...

D: A cautionary tale

You know, my friend was telling me recently about a drug being researched that makes your body react to other compounds as if it "resets" your tolerance for it. So for example, a smoker taking this drug would react to a cigarette like it's their first cigarette.

I wonder if it would work for coffee...

Finished The Blackwell Legacy tonight. Short and sweet. <3 Ready to start the next one. The Blackwell Epiphany and its $15 pricepoint looms.

Forget coffee, that'd be a cannabis fan's dream.

That'd be all kinds of awesome for anything used consensually and responsibly, but open to serious abuse. I mean, it'd be a stealth assassination, were it coercively administered to drug users whose drugs kill at high dosages/low tolerance.

I think I'm going to try to get shoulder length hair going next time I go to the salon and tell them to keep my hair brighter red since the darker color I tried doesn't seem as good.

Ugh, another AssCreed gender thread... I should just have stayed away. Damn my big mouth.

Those threads drain me the fuck out. It feels like there is this huge echo chamber going on and if a girl comes in and says her piece, she'd get totally steamrolled to the side.

"blahblahblah lol i dont feel that there is any issues, lol u. this is vidya gaems."

I have only one coping mechanism. I will draw androgynous boys.

Haha. I'm not a fan of androgynous boys, but you know what I'd love to see one day? A lead game (human, not robot or creature or whatever)) character who is not only androgynous, but whose gender is never explicitly revealed, leaving everyone to debate his/her gender. Has this been done?

(Probably, but I can't think of any example.)

I should really stay out of those threads, but I just can't help myself. Sometimes I wonder if I'd be playing video games today if I hadn't grown up with them.

Captain Toad? I don't think they ever state his/her gender in the Galaxy games. Contrary to popular belief Toadette is actually a character and not just the females of the species.

hmmm.... I dont think so ! but i'd love to see the same! It'd be so cool just playing a character whose gender identity will never be revealed and thus is not supposed to matter in the story. That'd be awesome sauce!!

on androgynous boys, yea, i understand... haha. it's just my frustration outlet to be honest. i love gruff men much betterererererrrrr but its the androgynous boys that rile up certain subsection of male gamers.... and i delight in such endeavours

Hello GirlGAF, I'm not a girl, but you were recently speaking on the Unity debacle so I figured now was a good time. Forgive an obtuse Junior if I'm out of line. I feel like it's out of line to pigeonhole your thread as the go-to place for discussing sociogender topics, just because this is GirlGAF doesn't mean I should assume you guys are in here mulling over the issues and nothing else. But for a while now I've been mulling over issues, I've been told I should take a break to cool off, but I can't stop thinking, and with the mention of Unity, I think you guys are thinking too. So I have a quick question and then I'll be out of your hair.

Let's say you find something offensive or out of line or something. Which do you find worse personally? If the perpetrator were to say "Yes, you're right, I did it, and I don't care" or "Obviously I wouldn't do such a thing, I care about that kind of thing, maybe you're overreacting/taking it the wrong way"?

I also don't wanna drag up any frustrations for anyone, I feel like this question might run that risk.

Both responses leave a lot to be desired. Why? Is there a ranking on which replies are categorically more acceptable and thus should be adopted in future dialog?

With the latter, I was wondering if it would be considered at least a sign of progress towards betterment, or if it was just dismissive. Versus the former, which makes no attempt betterment, but considers your points valid enough to listen to and consider.

I think the latter would bother me more, because I hate it when people try to devalue what I have to say or what I feel. With the first one, at least they're owning up to their actions and attitudes, even if I think they're shitty.

I don't see the latter as more progressive. Placing the gaslighting addendum at the end really makes it smells funny.

"Chill. You're just overreacting. I'd know. Cuz this is an issue I care about, so if I show zero care, it's probably you who approached the topic at the wrong angle."

But, uh, I dont speak for
the matriarchy
all girls here, so I don't know. For me, both are kind of lacking.

The latter comment makes me annoyed because I have to explain (which is tiresome), while the former lets me know that I don't have to bother at all cuz they're a douche.

>___<

blahblahblah men are just technically problem solvingy 3D brained more than women blahblahblahblahblahblah

my head. it hurts to read that wall of text of self-stroking justification

I'm pushing back on his nonsense. Ugh, though, the people agreeing with him are basically holding up big signs that say 'I don't respect women and other minorities' humanity' and 'my world ends at the tip of my nose'.

This. The other reaction reeks of concern trolling to me, and comes across as insincere. Honestly, somewhat related to that, intellectual dishonesty tends to bother me more than actual insults.

you know, on Assassin's Creed, it wasn't bothering me at all that there's no female characters, in fact I barely paid any attention up until the moment those PR dudes gave their answer "Didn't have time/money to animate a female character"

As someone who works in the industry and most of my friends are artist, I dare say this is utter bs and it's the worst thing a PR person can say. He's probably fired now anyway...

The only example I could find was Jaime from Harvest Moon: Magical Melody.

Gender is never explicitly stated... unless you marry her/him. If your character is a girl Jaime is a guy and vice versa. Sweet poncho, would marry.

Yeah, I think he royally screwed up by pulling a justification out of his ass. From what I understand, in the co-op you're basically all playing Arno.

Yup. That's not a problem and no one would have cared had they explained that upfront. The whole thing about animating the female characters though, oh boy... good job Ubi. xD

Yeah, that was a huge PR blunder. I have to wonder why Far Cry 4 isn't getting just as much flak though. In that game you play as different people in co-op and one of the developers used that same excuse (not enough time and money) for not including a female character. One of the devs said they were this | | close to including a female character as if they expect us to believe that that stuff isn't planned out super early in development.

Never played more than 30 min of AC after the first one. I would have enjoyed Liberation (prefer handhelds) but it was a hot mess when I bought it.
