I can't help it! I love girly rock!

There should be an award for "Cutest Vocals" that would automatically go to All Girl Summer Fun Band every year!

I'm not quite sure what you're classifying as "girlie rock," but it absolutely does not get any girlier than The Softies:

Jen from The Softies is in the AGSFB now, btw.

Denali (disbanded in April but Maura's working on a new band):

The Fiery Furnaces (female/guy vocals although mostly female):

Go Sailor (a Ryo favorite):

Denali and Forget Cassettes are my personal favs though.

Pretty Girls make graves kicks ass.. but they arent very girly.. they are kinda pissy.

Chopper One has a girl singer. They rock. Does that count? The Rentals have a girl singing occasionally. They rock too.

I love you.

Actually like her older stuff better. Its more unique and more "out there" I guess. Exile in Guyville is one of my favorite CDs ever. Still, awesome as always.

Haha, thanks :)

I downloaded a torrent the other day of pretty much ALL her stuff. I'd agree her older stuff is better, he newer stuff is kind of more "commercial"

btw, =W= is right on AGSFB.

"Mr. & Mrs. Troublemaker" is about the cutest song ever.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a ton of Metric love so far.

Speaking of theStart, their new album rocks. Especially "All or Nothing" and "You, Me, and a Knife".

I bought the "Shakedown" album from Spun.com for like $4, what's the name of their new album? "Gorgeous" is an unbelievably catchy song, BTW. I can't believe this hasn't made theSTART big nationally yet.

I hit Kay Hanley with a beer once. Heavenly is one of the best "girly rock" bands I know.

Yes! "Escort Crash on Marsten Street" is one catchy-ass song. Man, I haven't thought about Heavenly in quite some time.

(even though Manda splits vocal duties with John & Steven, she's more or less the lead vocalist)
