Giving up on Chipotle.... how is Moe's Southwest Grill?

It is decidedly worse than Chipotle IMO. I will echo what other folks have said with the lack of seasoning and cold burritos. That being said, it doesn't hurt to give it a shot.

FYI if you download their app and register an account, you get a free burrito.

I've been trying to avoid Moe's Mondays because I maximize my burrito order (a disgusting amount of calories) when it's that deal and I don't drink fountain soda.

I just go on another day and get a single loaded tofu taco, decline the chips and get a cup of water and don't look back.

I wish Moe's had fajita veggies as good as Chipotle and Qdoba.

Yeah but if I have to tell a restaurant to serve my food at something beyond room temperature, I'm simply not going back. I can walk 4 mins in the other direction and be eating Qdoba if that's the case.

Yeah, I don't disagree with you. Just a tip if you find yourself there.

For me it's: Chipotle>Salsarita's>Moe's>Qdoba

Chipotle serving sofritas definitely puts it at first in my book as a vegetarian. I enjoy the taste of Salsarita's quesadillas. Moe's is okay, but none of the locations near me seem to ever have a salsa I enjoy. I generally stay away from Qdoba and was surprised to see people recommend it over Moe's, but different strokes for different folks.

Moe's is fantastic. Good prices, tons of food.

Chipotle was my go to until the food scares now I basically opt for Moe's.

I completely forgot about Salsarita's. They've got the best salsa variety and quality of any chain, hands down.

It's good, go on Mondays, they run a killer burrito deal
Yeah I saw that listed on their site so this coming Monday might be my first venture there.

There are 2 Moe's near me. Every time I've eaten at one I get a cold burrito that's 90% toppings and 10% meat.

It's garbage. Utter garbage. Avoid at all costs.
Well that sucks. Not a fan of that ratio. And wtf at fresh food being cold? Maybe because of all the excess toppings?
Not even. I have all 3 within 10 mins of each other and Chipotle and Qdoba shit on Moe's from a great height. I'm utterly astonished at these replies.

I mean I get that they're cheap, but their food has no flavor. At least Chipotle seasons their damn rice.

EDIT: Just asked 4 co-workers which chain was the best. When I said Moe's there was an audible "EWWWW" from 3 of the 4. I don't know if it's just my area or what, but they're fucking awful here.
I just heard that in my head and yeah that's not what I'd like to hear as a response.
You should hit up one of the local Taquerias, cheaper and tastier than Chipotle. La Fiesta Taqueria is a good one that's pretty close by.

Rubio's is the only chain I really like and that mostly for the seafood.
I love Rubio's. They're a tad pricey but that's probably because the closest location to me is in a mall. But never had a bad experience there.

I like Chipotle but it is a bit on the garlicky side for me. Moes is good. Similar quality residents and similarly solid chain food. The tacos I think are not so good. The burritos are solid, the bowls and salads very good.

I think the promotion is over. Also, some stores don't have the capability to redeem the app rewards yet, which is annoying. Ran into that issue the other night.

Rubio is amazing. It's not really pricier than these other options. If we had one here I'd eat there every week or more. Please eat there more. It's amazing. I'm so jealous.

About the toppings for Moe's, I don't think the tacos are good for this reason in part.

The meat and rice and beans are definitely a similar warm temp as Chipotle. Everything else is cold, similar to Chipotle. I'm not sure how Chipotle differs in this respect. What I mean about the tacos is that they have no way to trap heat like a burrito or like a bowl or even salad with a lid on it. So they get cold and it's not appealing. But the general setup, quality and offerings of both are similar otherwise I think. Some variations but I dont think part from the crappy tacos Moea is in any way worse than Chipotle. Guac is good at both, just a bit garlicky for me at Chipotle.

With Moe's and with Chipotle, quality definitely varies a lot based on location.

It might just be my town but the Moe's here is very messy and looks kinda unsanitary where as the Qdoba is always clean and well maintained.

Moes is my favorite fast food mexican place. It's not hipster like chipotle, the 3 taco deal is good too.

I'm sure service varies by location, but my local Moe's feels like a step down from Chipotle. Like the difference between name brand and great value.

Freebirds > Chipotle though.

We've never had one down here until last year, same with Chipotle. Our Chipotles opened just in time for the company to tank. The Moe's opened close to me.

Honestly, I think of it as a slightly worse version of this local ripoff chain, only with better chips and salsa, better ground beef, and maybe better queso. Which is to say, their chips and queso and salsa are about all I ever pick up.

I loved Moes for a long time when it first came out more than a decade ago, but ever since Chipotle and Qdoba came around Moes' food is just super bland compared to those two. Moes is decent but Chipotle's food has way more flavor.

All the Moe's in and around Atlanta are so disgusting that I have sworn off of them.

Don't eat Chipotle as much as I like, but I've never had an issue with them (except mild tummy-sickness because of the amount of spicy that I demand they add).

It's pretty simple for me. Chipotle is the GOAT. Qdoba is good when I want queso, but their burritos/bowls can't compare. Moe's is significantly lower than those two, and really is only a legitimate option when the other two aren't available.

Moe's isn't that great. I do Cafe Rio or Baja Fresh if I want a burrito. Qdoba is decent but I put them on that second tier of fast-food burritos with Chipotle and Moe's.

Ill never go back to chipotle and their terribly small protein portions they love to give out. I usually do Moe Monday which is an awesome $6 deal. People there have no problem piling up my chicken or Quac without charging me extra.

Moe's is great for people who have issues with spicy food.
I'm seeing more and more people here referring to Moe's food as being bland and lacking any kick. I definitely like some spice to it, I assume I can just kick up the salsa on my burrito and/or tacos. Sound dumb having to do that but we'll see how it goes. I'm getting a 50-50 vibe from most of you so I'll just have to try it myself which is what I was planning to do regardless.

I hate that Chipotle has fallen off for me though, I loved the shit out of their food until the prices kept going up and the portions kept getting smaller. What really pisses me off is that one servers scoop of meat can be vastly different from the next so it's always a coin flip. Ah well.

edit: On a side not, is anyone else getting a lot of lag here and seeing "waiting for www.neogaf.com..." for like 3-4 seconds when refreshing pages... or is it just me? Been an ongoing issue since middle of yesterday.

I gave up on Chipotle when it gave me food poisoning and I was horribly ill for 3 days. Moe's is now my go-to burrito place.

I like that at Moe's they have the salsa bar and you can get as much salsa as you want, and different flavors.

If I had to choose, I'd go to Qdoba first though.

Every time I've gone to a Moe's I've been completely unimpressed. It's all just so bland.

If you're not getting enough at Chipotle, order double rice, double beans, and a tortilla on the side because those are free.

I've only eaten at Chipotle but it was massively disappointing. Moe's is better and I've been there more often, but generally I go for the local burrito place, Izzo's. (Though I realize that doesn't help you much.)

Moe's has no seasoning on their meat. You have to tune it w/ the salsa bar.

This is good for me since my body unfortunately hates spicy food.

ITT: Quality in chain stores vary.

Chipotle around here in SoCal is good and better than the occasional time ive been to Qdoba (bland). Larger portions in Chipotle too.

I'm sorry guys, Moe's is not good. It's like the Taco Bell of mexican restaurants designed for America. With the chips and queso as their hook.

I still like Chipotle and feel they'll turn it around. I was surprised to see recently that Moe's ranks at the top of the fresh Mexican-style food.

I like Chipotle way more than Moe's. The closest Chipotle is an hour away from me and we have 3 Moe's within 15 minutes. It's miserable.

Moe's has the least seasoning and expected you to dump the germ riddled salsa from their open bowls on it to get flavor. I don't even like spicy, I just like flavors and Moe's gives you less meat and it's hardly seasoned.

Get fresh jalepenos on your burrito or ask them to add their hot sauce to it for spice. Their pork has a really good flavor to it, everything else is kinda bland (Don't get the ground beef), personally I usually get chicken or a 50/50 chicken steak split. The grilled veggies are a must, and the corn pico is pretty good. Also, go in like a seasoned vet and ask them to grill that burrito just before they wrap it, they wrap it up and put some cheese on the fold then put it on the flat grill for a few minutes, holds the monster together a lot better. You'll thank me later.

Oh forgot the "germ infested" /s salsa bar, the Kaiser Salsa is fuckin' god-like. And their seasonal salsa's are usually worth trying.
