It took till yesterday for me to realize Lima was referring to the city in Ohio where the show's supposed to take place. I had assumed all this time that "Lima Loser" was just an expression I wasn't familiar with, haha.

Have we had confirmation of that?
They manage to drop a few vague references to Cleveland and Ohio State here and there, so apparently yes.

It's a pretty unrealistic depiction of it, though. I remember an episode from last season (I think it was the first one with Kristin Chenoweth) where there were a bunch of Mission Revival-style homes in the background. Not a lot of those in Northwest Ohio, I can assure you.

Yeah, consistency and plot aren't the show's strong points. Just some hot people and good signing, with some entertaining Sue stuff from time to time. I don't really go into it expecting any more than that, which is probably why I don't care how stereotypical and cliche all of it is.

While the episode was great, I do think it skipped over a few plot details which were left merely implied. I mean, one scene Kurt is the "new kid," the next he's been outed as a spy--how'd that go down?

Similarly, unlike most of you, I just assumed that the locker photo was an implication that Kurt and Blaine have been hanging out a lot and Blaine gave him a photo. But I'll agree that stalkerish behavior is not entirely unlike Kurt...

Hell, after mentally undressing Blaine, Kurt probably just told him outright. That's what I assumed anyway, to be honest.

Yeah, but would Blaine give him a photograph in such a short time of knowing him? Or, you know, not feel it was rather odd for Kurt to want to take a photograph of him this early into their friendship/relationship?

No, man. It was creepy.

Come on man, you never traded school portraits?

The ending to me either means Kurt is being super fucking creepy (again) or we took a big jump ahead in time (which the show does seem to do often) and they've actually been going out a while by that point.

Either way it was a seriously weird moment and it needed some explaination, until that moment I actually thought it was a mostly great episode.

As much as I feel bad for Coach Beiste in this show I also remember that when I saw her in the first episode of Season 2 I did think that they had hired a man to play her.

I mean, I'm not the only person who thought that, right?

Definitely not. I inevitably end up debating it with people every week as a Bieste show airs, before laying the news on them that she is indeed, a she.

yeah! i actually thought they had a man play her too. it would've been actually awesome if they did to be honest.

my friends were all shocked after i found out on wiki/imdb that she is indeed a she.

Just watched the video of Gwyneth singing "Forget You." Um, meh. I love the original song "Fuck You" but the edit does nothing for me. And then getting Paltrow to do it...ugh. The clip even feels heavy handed with how they introduce the song as well. Reminding me of the heavy handed ways of how they introduced Lady Gaga and Madonna stuff on the show.

I am slowly ebbing towards the "dont give a shit" camp on this show anymore. Every time I get pissed about the show and its direction, they pull out an awesome episode or scene and bring me back. But the fluctuation is starting to grate on me.

Yup, I feel almost exactly the same way at this point.

Unfortunately, it's nice to like a show that isn't on the bubble. That makes me inclined to enjoy it more than I normally would :lol

The edit Glee uses is just the standard, censored version. There's nothing particular to Glee about it.

(For what it's worth, I actually prefer the censored version of the song, for some reason.)

I know that it is using the censored version, but Gwyneth singing it (Edited or not) it is still merely okay. And the way the clip is started like they are talking "omg, Cee Lo Green is a genius" just feels so forced in.

There are episodes where the music feels like it was chosen to service the story they wanted to tell, and then there are times where they were told what music to put in and had to find a way to make a "story" to fit around that. Granted, when the episode airs the context of the clip might be totally different, but from what has been shown so far, it seems very forced in. Much like the entire Lady Gaga and Madonna episodes.

I also haven't stopped watching Glee for similar reasons: (1) clinging to the hope that the show returns to its former glory; (2) the unusual great episodes suck me back in; (3) the new male additions keep my eyes moisturized.

Ryan Murphy confirms reports that Darren Criss has been signed as a regular, and reiterates that it hasn't been decided yet whether he'll be Kurt's boyfriend or a platonic friend; he claims to be waiting on fan reaction, believe it or not. If he's the former (which will probably be the case, though I really hope he gets fleshed out more first), we'll be seeing him pretty often; if not, I imagine he'll be appearing in Season 3 about as often as Terri does now.

Also, there's this alarming quote at the end of the interview:

AE: Will there be a PSA at the end of the season for the Trevor Project? Have you considered that yet?
Murphy: I have not considered that; I do a lot of support work with the Trevor Project, but maybe I should. I think if we do it, we should just write it into the story instead of doing a PSA.

The Trevor Project is a great organization (they're the only nationwide suicide prevention hotline for gay kids), but PLEASE GOD DON'T. There's simply no way that Glee will ever be capable of tastefully dealing with an issue as weighty as teen suicide.

Then don't have Kurt put his bloody picture up in his locker, unless the plan is to make him look like a creepy bastard.

It's like things like that which make me agree with your second comment, Glee is far too inconsistent to be able to deal with something as serious as teen suicide. I actually do think they can do serious stuff fairly well, they just then negate that by doing some cheesy or stupid.

I learned about this show like 2 months ago. I had no idea it existed. I saw a french dub of an episode on tv and I was entertained enough about what I saw to buy the season 1 dvd set. I've been watching the set in my free time and I must say that I quite enjoyed season 1. I finished catching up with season 2 yesterday and to be honest the second season is quite horrible.

There is way too many characters now. In season one they were already like twelve kids and only half of them were important but in season two they are trying to flesh every single kid + emma + her boyfriend + we see one again Will's ex. In a show you have lead actors and supporting actors, can't have both doing the lead. Mr Shue is getting more and more weird and distrubed as the show keeps going. He seems to be forgetting that he is in a High School. Doing the of the Rocky Horror Picture Show in a High School :lol.

Last week episode was supposed to address bullying at school? Really nice message to show to bullied kids. Run to a school with no bullying (seriously try to find one) or confront the guy bullying you which is three time your size and end up kiss raped in the boys locker room :lol . The whole plot with the football coach was awkward. I guess the message is that pity kisses are great? I can tolerate the cliché characters (the bum, the dumb cheerleader, the bitchy cheerleader, the obnoxious diva, the dim witted football player, the flamboyant gay guy) but if you try to send a serious message try to be a bit more logical. Also WTF at Mr Shue. Kid get slammed into locker, Schue let bully get away and ask kid what he can do to help. Hello dumbass talk to the principal.

It seems that in the second season they are undoing what they tried to establish in the first season. It was about being different and to live with that and how to express your difference. It was a bunch of unpopular ''losers'' teaming up together and against all odds ends up singing as choir together to express themselves. Quinn speech to Mercedes about how she didn't need to look perfect and be a cheerleader to be happy was great but now Quinn is back in the cheerleading team and back to her old self. It seems they are not caring about Rachel much more anymore. In the first season she was obsessed with her career and wanted to progress but now she is defined only as Finn's girlfriend. They had many songs related to the plot too! Now they seem to come up with ridiculous reasons to sing well known song (hallucination at the dentist's office?!?!).

As much as I liked the first seaon I don't know for how long I will keep watching season 2 if it's gets worse.

My thoughts exactly. The show is becoming what I feared it would at the halfway point of season 1: a vehicle to sell CDs and merchandise and nothing else. There are Glee board games, card games, CDs, bookmarks, etc. now.

It seems now they are somewhat thinking backward when writing. Overall the first season felt like they wrote a story and tried to find song to fit with it. Now it seems they are checking which song would be cool to do and try to find a way to fit them in at all cost.

The message at the end of the first season was really true and powerful. Even if you don't stop believing, you won't magically win something in life if you lack the talents or skills. They lost against Vocal Adrenaline because Vocal adrenaline presented a Broadway number which was vastly superior to their capabilities. The contrast with last episode is ridiculous.

I don't understand this idea that the point of last week's episode was "Go to a school without bullies to escape bullying." I mean, it was stated pretty explicitly that the guy who did that regretted it and disliked himself for it. Surely this means that the point of the episode is not to do that?

i saw that during that episode the first time i saw it. I was thinking fuuu was that a girl or guy. just haven't bothered to go back :lol

Yeah, abs like that on a woman do nothing for me. Reminds me too much of a man. Thinking of that episode again reminds me of what is so odd about Heather Morris. When in the Cheerio costume and in the Brittany character she is not that hot. In fact she is rather odd looking. But get her moving and dancing, and showing off that body and I am in "OMG" mode. It is like a switch goes off.

Fuck you....sorry, Forget you was terrible. Ruins half the reason the song was good in the first place.
