I like how Schmidt is so brashly dissing these people on his stage.

Hey Sony, you have really screwed the pooch for the last 5 years eh? I don't recall anybody ever going from complete market dominance in a market to distant third place while alienating their entire development community as quickly as you have with the PS3. But hey, you did make Walkmens... so there's that. How is our awesome tech gonna make you not have to start selling off pieces of the company to maintain liquidity in the face of falling revenues and cheaper more agile competitors?

This is a conference for devs, not fucking business analysts..SHUTTUP..no one cares about CEO's, we wanna see CTO's, devs and Britney!

I really want to hear pricing for the set top box. I hope it's cheap, I fear it'll be $299

For real. I want more Android videos, I missed the stream at the time and the one video Google has up isn't enough.

this whole taking advantage of apple not using flash thing is kind of annoying.

nothing about flash is open, its completely unnecessary and only still exists because it has a monopoly

using it to claim you are more open than apple is pathetic.

Oh can we not do this here. There's for and against camps, and both think the other is wrong. News at 11.

No it isn't, it shows you are pro-consumer.

Flash itself may not be open but the act of supporting it within the open web framework that deliberately offers a standard for implementing plug-ins, which are allowed to be proprietary, certainly is.

If you're running 2.2 in the Android Emulator, you can now "apparently" download the Flash 10.1 beta :lol

http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html#android

Which leads to this:

market://details?id=com.adobe.flashplayer

Oh Adobe, releasing a product for a system version that is not really available yet :lol

Here are the release notes:

http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flash_Player_10.1_for_Android
Engadget says there’s no H.264 acceleration but those release notes say otherwise. Hm.

God I wish I was a developer, the ideas im having for integrating GTV and android phones. Like everyone pulls out there phone and plays poker with the tv as dealer and phones displaying cards, or playing an rts with the tv being the overworld map and each device controlling a unit or group.

UGH

in the short term it gives people access to more stuff. in the long term it will just cause more problems by maintaining adobe's monopoly and making the consumer rely on their shitty software.

Did you see the conference yesterday or not?

Can someone explain to me how Android updating works? Like, if I buy an HTC whatever, I can't just upgrade it to 2.2? I'd have to wait for my carrier to do it for me?
