Hopefully everyone can get to the lounge a bit earlier so we can have some practice starts... eau rouge will be tough at the start.

Eau rouge hasn't been much of a problem during the practice races we had, at least not as big as the first corner. As long as people queue up nicely, don't get any ideas and downshift to 4th to keep it safe I think it should be alright.

But you should also be careful later on in the race, if you manage to get stuck behind someone with older tyres than yours the speed differenences through there can be massive.

sunhi won't race with us tonight :( so there's a new spot available ...

I hope I'll be able to reach the top 5 or 3 tonight without damages :D

Yeah, giving some distance to the guy ahead in Eau Rouge is important, unless you're Webber and the guy ahead is Alonso ;D

You'll catch up in the straight anyway.

I'll get online in a sec.

You can race as long as you're on the track before the actual race starts :) Good luck!

This. People need to keep in mind that the guy ahead might be on less grippy tyres. Same thing when (if) it rains - brake early.

Quali starts in 30 minutes btw.

Oh well, i didnt work for me. :( i didnt have the correct type of tires, so i was driving with sports ones. And i couldn't even control my car.

Sorry guys, hope i will be able to race next time

Hyped race -> get damage on lap 1 -> pit and sweat your ass off for the rest of the race -> be 6th fighting for 5th and mess up on the final lap because you touch the kerb and drift for 200m.

FML

Total shit race for me, at least this time I didn't cause a wreck and I overtook like 4 or 5 guys.

f0rk, I think you have to learn to let someone pass when they have your inside, I saw you doing a threeway bumping contest and tried to overtake you twice on the inside before I clipped the grass and fucked my own shit up.

It's a shame I never got to see Niks or Pasko because I'm sure it was a fun and spectacular fight.

I though you were doing donuts for fun... :p

We'll be back at Spa, I want to race there again. I almost killed three cars at the first chicane when I missed my brake point but managed to jump right between two cars and out onto the run-off zone. Rest of the race I was chasing and hoping for rain- or smoke clouds.

Haha, yeah, I saw you running off at the speed of light and thought "maybe his pedals cable fell off or something" (true story) :p

are you going to keep the no tuning rule?

at least in the practice races I played it helped make things more competitive and funwhen everyone is in the exact same car with the same set up.

I like it this way better, too :)

Well that went... badly.

Got nudged on the first lap, had to pit on the second... it was all downhill from there.

Good fun though!

Fucking traffic, when I joined you were already done with 8 laps :(

Btw, nice going Xun! Ahah, took me 3 laps to remember Monza and the F1, then I was so on the edge that when I finally managed to catch you (but I'm positive you slowed down on purpose to make the race fun, don't you lie to me! :D) I was pushing so hard that I completely missed the chicane's breaking point since I was looking at you instead of the track, went straight to the wall LOL!
And after that I missed another one again, later.
But I had a lot of fun, mainly thanks to you being a gent :)

I had fun, even if I never manage to finish very high. I definitely would like to have another race on Spa soon. Maybe with a really high powered AWD car like the CUSCO Impreza or MINES Skyline, something that can really power around those high speed corners. Or dare I say, maybe even finally have an X1 race? 0.0

This Sunday will be in one of the new cars at Nürburgring GP/F I think. Week after that we will be back at Spa - this time with weather change at 10. I want some rain dammit. Spa needs fast cars, so LMPs when we return.

I haven't had time to properly test the new cars, but perhaps the Dodge touring car?

As for the "No Tuning" rule, we'll see. I liked it, but at the same time I would really have liked to tune the suspension of the Vette to get rid of some of that understeer...

I don't think I asked before, or if I did, I forgot, but, any reason why we're racing on Sunday now?

More complicated for me to race on a Sunday night, and I'm guessing it's the same for most Europeans.

nab what happened ?

I had some people over and I had to go say goodbye to them. So I had to pull over and spent about 1 minute 10 seconds parked on the outside of La Source. I wish that happened a few laps later, then I could have pitted and not lose so much time :p

I liked the "No tuning" as well, but mainly because it saves me a lot of time that I would spend fiddling with the settings. This way I know what I've got and I can just concentrate on trying to go faster on the track. But nowadays I barely have enough free time even for that :(

edit: Race report! Kinda boring race for me :p After pulling over I was second to last, but only did like 2 overtakes on the track on my way to 4th :( Superior one stop strategy confirmed?

I was going to one stop but since I had a little lead on Niks, I stopped right after he did to make sure I did not have to deal with fending him off with worn tires.

Whatever the next car is, lets make sure it has better driving manners than the Vette. Its kinda a pain to drive. I really liked the SLS vs. 458 race. Each car was equally as fast overall but the 458 was better on the corners and the SLS had more straight line speed. A two make race would be great.

Also a special apology to Xun about my comment when you entered the room. It was not necessary even if it was not meant to be taken seriously.

GR to everyone. Pics coming later.

I think it was kinda voted before Spec 2, many EU gaffers asked, because most people can't race on saturdays and since there's already the Super GT playing on saturday that gives more people a chance to get in at least one of the two.

Granted we keep the same hours I'd be ok playing any day besides Tuesday/Wednesday/Sunday, for example.
Obviously is not up to me anyway, but Sunday gets my vote.

edit: Whoa, tried to add you and your friends list is full :O

Nice pics Toxa.

I had a bad race. Managed to steal 4th for quali in the last 30 seconds from Edgy and had a good start in the race and moved into 3rd. Nab was on my tail though and at turn 7 after Kemmel Straight he bumped into my rear lightly damaging my rear suspension. At that point a few others caught me and nab and there was a train. We pulled away though and nab eventually got by me.

After that my race was pretty dull and Toxa closed in on me. I pitted and pushed hard to try and undercut Toxa but as I came around he pulled out of pits just ahead of me. There was a couple of laps where I was breathing down his neck but I hit a curb and span out slamming head on into a wall. Ruined my car and had to pit. Edgy caught me in pits and I held him off for a lap or so then he disappeared.

Race wasn't a complete disaster but it was a shame I went backwards from my grid position.

Sorry about the hit Dibbz, I completely forgot about that :( I started braking a fraction later than you did, and with the slipstream from the straight I couldn't get it slowed down enough to avoid bumping you off.

Nice race, congrats to Paskowitz.

Hard race for me (DS3 user) coudnt get my tires to last for more than 7 laps.. any more and I would had spun out for sure. Was actually surprised I could keep up with Paskowits for the first 4 laps.

Spa + rain + LMPs = count me out.
Too hard for me :p

Honestly, you are probably one of the fastest DS3 users I have raced. I think if you had a G25 you would be very very fast. I just try to not make any mistakes. Many people where doing 2:15 laps which is where I was almost the entire race (save that one 2:12). The difference is, I never went off. If you can do that, you have a very good chance at the podium.

Also what is the best place to upload pics?

should really keep the no tuning rule for a few more races.

it levels the playing field a bit more between new guys and the people who have been doing a race every week and it makes the choice of car for the race that much more important.

Picking a car with a little oversteer or understeer is part of the fun. it gives each car each race there own little quirks.

Maybe a race with 2 or more cars to chose from with no tuning allowed might be a great idea. Give people a bit of choice.

We've done lots of races with either a limited BHP / Weight or pick from two cars. The BHP / Weight is cool, but makes for a pretty uneven playing field. A two car selection is more manageable so I'll try to have two cars to pick from on Sunday.

my best lap during practice was 1.14.2 and 1.14.9 during pre-race practice but I never managed to get 1.14 during the race because I no longer wish to push a car to its limits, I'm too tired for that now . I was more concerned with consistency, tire wear and damages.

It was a great race, really entertaining.
the first corner and the first laps was really scary,I took a good star but I was so scared I didn't even try to gain a place at the start.
edgeypoo spun it was funny and frightening xD

later had to fight with weekend_warrior, xun, fork and lazlow, it was fun but I had to be extremely careful with them. it was also fun to try to catch dibbz during several laps,
after the first pit stop he lost control at the exit of the bus stop and I took the 3rd place.

for a while I was disturbed to try to understand when, how and why Ashk fell in the Standings .

after my second pit stop I struggled with my cold tires and Dibbz was right behind me one lap later it was better.
dibbz went into the wall at lap 17 and and then I was serene for the rest of the race.

overall awesome race, fighting with you was fun that's why I like to start the race in last position.

Really hope Angst keeps the no tuning rule. Otherwise that playing field would be even more uneven for those of us not quite up there.
I'd love if in the future it'd be possible to race at Spa with F1 2010 or Formula GT (sucks you can't change the color tho, but the race would be phenomenal).

Thinking about it, I'm not quite sure if in the lobby after the race you were mocking me about the traffic problem
Angst :p
I almost twisted my right knee running on the stairs to go fire up the PS3 looooool

Yeah, I wondered if you could see the gigantic cloud of smoke. I was following you on Pouhon, touched the curb right in the middle of the turn and stepped on the gas a bit too much. Result: huge slide with the car completely sideways until I met a wall. Damaged rear wheel meaning I couldn't go straight at all. I just had to let everyone pass :(

I personally don't love the C63 nor the M3 but it's okay if it's on Nurb GP :D And no tuning is great because even if I had no time to practice on my own and change my setup I still could keep up the pace of the leaders. I went from +56 to +54 before my first tyre change, which really helps when you're last :p

I just got GT5. How does importing stuff from GT PSP work? Are there any cars that you can only get by importing from PSP? And does it matter if my PSP is running custom FW?

Hum, you're sort of in the wrong thread :)

You'll get more replies if you go to the OT: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=32091613

But regarding PSP, the cars you import will only be available in Arcade sadly. I didn't even bother to import the PSP garage.

The Formula GT is awful without tuning, you can't do that.
