Pardon my ignorance, but is there a way for all drivers to use the same car even if they don't own the car?

The Ferrari F1 cars would be superb on the circuit if we were going for a 1-type race. They handle much better than the Formula GT cars.
Definitely. I could limit the lounge to one of the "recommended" cars and you guys could only pick that car. Unfortunately that also means you can't fiddle with suspensions and gear boxes. And if I pick "Ferrari F1 cars only" everybody has to race in identical cars and I want people to at least be able to change the colour of their car.

Corvette RM is an interesting car, we've never raced in it and it's blazingly fast. Hmmm

635pp race cars. Mods allowed. Racing softs. No LMP1 cars, no CLK-LM type cars, no Formula, just GT cars. A lot fit into this category and are all reasonably matched.

-Chevy Corvette Z06 RM
-Chevy Corvette ZR1 RM
-Ford GTLM Spec II (premium and standard)
-Almost every Super GT GT500 car can hit this mark.
-Chevy Camaro SS RM
-GT By Citroen Race Car
-CLK Touring Car
-Chevy Corvette C5R
-Fairlady Z Concept LM Race Car
-Ford GT LM Race Car
-Mazda RX LM race car
-And many more.
- + possible cars in the new DLC.

At 635pp they should be all relatively even. Spa is mostly high speed, but also need DF so for many cars it will be a choice between the two. 635 is a bit high and 600pp may include more cars like the M3 GTR and R8LMS. This is another option.

One thing I absolutely demand is weather change. It is a hallmark of Spa. The race needs to start Sunny and have the weather changeability set to something high.

Why not use one or some of the cars from the DLC pack?
Not everybody will buy them + I fear they might be a bit slow for Spa. I'll wait until after the races tomorrow though.

I´m still YLOD´, but i dropped by to give a hint:

Please, don´t set any restrictions by PP.

The system is screwed, and it doesn´t balance out cars. A 615 PP Nissan Z is slower than a 600 PP Takata Dome NSX for example.

PP races end up on people choosing one or two cars.

With the lack of a better system, the best way to include limitations, believe it or not, is with HP and weight caps.

512 HP SuperGT cars are a lot more evenly matched than 600 PP SuperGT cars.

It´s true, you guys can test this one if you like.

Yeah I know, the testing we did for NRL season 1 showed that quite clearly.

So, we're doing another one-make instead. Corvette ZR1 RM most likely.

Too slow huh. Well to be honest I don't even know what the hell Spa is, I just know that everyone is super excited about it, must be a European track.

I don't want to do a race with 12-16 cars of exactly the same colour.

Viper GTS-R Team Oreca '00

my favorite car :)

That was the first car I drove in GT3. I still remember the game coming in the mail, and booting it up for 15 minutes before I head to go to work. Team Oreca Viper on High Speed Ring. The graphics, the controls, it was beautiful.

A bit off topic, but everytime someone mentions that car I think about that day.

I wish these two were in GT... I would race them every day.

I remember the S7 was so overly dominant in ALMS they had to regulate it to oblivion. Then Saleen started to fall apart. Shame.

GT5 DLC will hit the North American Store on 10/25 but will include a special bonus. Apologies for the inconvenience!

So its delayed for us here in NA.
I just hope we can still join the Spa races tomorrow :/

Don't worry Niks, as long as the host has it you should be able to join.

I'll be doing an open lounge tonight at ~20.00 CET. If I'm running late or you guys want to start early - go ahead without me :)

After the race on Spa we'll do five to ten laps on Spa with the X1 2010.

Good! I'll start the game up now, any cars I should buy in preparation? I'm only using my DS3 for today because I'll watch soccer in an hour or so :p

NRL lobby btw?

Missing a brake point and thus overshooting into run-off areas is ok, but when you rejoin the track you must wait until cars close behind you has passed. Missing a brake point is a mistake and should lead to you having less speed out the corner, not more.

Lounge:
Race will be in the GT5NRL lounge, please add this account to your Friends list. Practice sessions will also be held in the same lounge.

Behaviour:
Don't even think about going into the settings for the race >.>

I'll post this in the Spec II thread and the GT5 OT tomorrow I think and give the regulars some time to join first.

Make the new drivers race a pink car as a warning to regular drivers.

I second this. Not necessarily because I think that new drivers are a threat, I just think it would be hilarious.

Anyway, sign me up.

I think we'll start with 50 % and weather variability at 8 or 9.
I've changed my mind: weather at 50 %, no water on track and variability at 5.

Also: Anyone that is not me or MM changes any settings will be kicked >.< (unless I ask you to change, then it's ok). It almost drove me nuts yesterday :p

Edit - I've added everyone that posted (and one that didn't).

You're welcome :)

Only 2 spots left, don't think I'll post this in the other 2 threads actually.

Is everybody ok with the chance of rain during the race or should we run with a low chance of rain only?

Run with rain, the percentage meter makes it very easy to decide how far you can push your car before pitting.
