SA totally holds up, but the best way to play it is on PC without a doubt. The shooting and action mechanics are weak but predictable and reliable. AI is pretty stupid, of enemies and allies. But GTA:SA has the best mission variation (and missions) of any GTA game, the setting is right, and the world is incredible impressive for a game that is now nearly 10 years old.

I've played GTA:SA four times through completely and its awesome every time
 
Very much looking forward to this game. I plan on living out my GTA-life as Michael in homagé to Tony from The Sopranos.

There's a lot more I didn't mention either. It's still amazing how much that game has in it.

San Andreas is my favourite game of all time and I concur with this assessment.
 
Whoa am I really going to purchase a GTA for it's multiplayer? This is kinda what I thought GTA online would be in GTA 4. Looks pretty fun to me.
 
I feel so sad right now, because the lack of time I'm already experiencing won't let me play that game to a preferred extent.
 
Waiting for the PC release of this is going to suck so bad. Fortunately I have a roommate who is getting it on the 360 so I will be able to play the singleplayer and maybe a little multi, but still, 6-8 months at least until I can fully sink my teeth into it. Bleh. At least Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4 will kill some time.

Man am I excited for GTA V...it's just scary to be hyped and disappointed after the 4th installment (good game but no charm, imo). Vice City is still my favorite in the series (dat atmosphere) but this one really looks like R* took everyone's opinions to heart about the last one.

Here's to hoping that GTA V fulfills everyone's dreams and wishes for the series!
 
I have a feeling they are going to charge a fee for playing online, given that they are marketing gta online as a separate game and they will be doing content upgrades to the world

No. For the last time. THERE IS NO FEE FOR GTA ONLINE. IT COMES FREE WITH GTA V.

I think this should be stated in the OP to stop this madness.
 
The special edition from Amazon is now saying release day delivery, before it said Thursday, pretty happy because I want the special edition but don't want to wait two days. Can't wait

wait so say im playing as trevor and i have 3 guns... a pistol, shotgun and bazooka... if i switch to michael will he have his own set of weapons, or the same as what trevor had

He'll have whatever weapons you've specifically picked up or bought with him. Each character has their own abilities and lives. That's what they were trying to show in the gameplay trailer when they were switching between characters and each were off doing different things.

Every character has their own set of weapons. They all have different bank accounts. And they all have different special abilities and stats. Although you can improve these stats like San Andreas.
 
Freaking GTA, making me giddy like a little a kid. Here I am, 30 years old and completely psyched for a series I've loved since I was like 13. I remember begging my mom to buy me the first one, and her disappointment when she realized what she had just bought me.

I wish one day they will squeeze the original's theme song into a radio station.

Man, if the music in the last two trailers is indicative of what the in-game soundtrack might be like, I'm just as excited to hear more about it as I am the radio stations. Excitement is definitely rising now lol.

Michael is an expert bank robber, someone that is smart, and calculating, why would he team up with an unhinged, unpredictable psychopath like trevor, that could entirely mess up an operation or a heist in progress

remember, trevor also had the "RIP Michael Brother" tattoo.... what if trevor thought Michael died, but didn't know he actually went into witness protection

It is no surprise it's "completed", game is out in less than a month. Whatever they iron out now will be through day-one patching.


I can't even imagine how the dev team must feel. Working on something for 5.5 years and than suddenly, it's "done". So weird.

I think the soundtrack to V is composed by the same guy who did the Manhunt soundtrack, which was freaking excellent. Perfectly captured the vibe of the game.

Craig Conner is the guys name. He works at R* and is involved in the music of most games, but I don't think he's composed music for a GTA since GTAIII.
