Great so two of the 3 are awful? I already have trouble listening to the thug conversations but get to look forward to Trevor now. I kind of wish Michael was the main character his story is somewhat interesting at least Franklin so far has zero interest.

So you haven't played the game but are basing your expectations on that post there? I love all three characters, each bring their own unique flavor into the mix.

Also people for fucks sake get your auto aim off. Turn that shit off right away!

I liked aiming/shooting in GTA IV more.

I've been stuck for the last hour on trevors sniping mission (PS3)

Sometimes textures wont load up so I have no idea what im shooting
Sometimes enemies dont spawn when they should (I have seen how its supposed to go down)
Helicopter wont spawn at all
When I try to pause during the mission I get stuck on the loading
If I kill myself I get a black screen that doesnt go away
And when I reboot the system, trevor is in the middle of fucking nowhwere (probably because the game thinks trevor is free and he does whatever he feels like)

this is starting to piss me off

This is weird as hell... and you're positive you're not accidentally triangle/Y? :lol (Sorry, just making sure!)

500% sure

I was having this problem early on. I thought it was my controller so I switched it up, and the problem hasn't occurred again. I've seen a few people mention it in here though so it must just be a bug. You can try switching controllers or perhaps a game/console restart.

unfortunately I don't have another controller so I can't try this D:

thanks though

I don't like Trevor. It's like his story and dialogue are written by other people for another game. He's some sort of fake cartoon character.

What I hate is how he easily establishes dominance over [intro/early]
Johnny Klebitz. Somehow I'm supposed to believe this obviously mentally handicapped man can get the better of the much more intelligent character from Lost & Damned.

I think I've only played as this fool for 45 minutes or so, but this might be enough to make me hate this game. I can't fathom how the other two characters would want anything to do with this idiot.

Trevor's friends are even worse. Are there really people who talk like this in America? I thought it was just a stereotype. How can your government allow people to remain uneducated and undiagnosed of a mental illness?

Have you not noticed how this "more intelligent character" you talk about has become a fucking meth head who is completely fucked up and whose life is in the gutters?

Loving the game, but whoever thought the new aiming while driving was a great idea needs a slap in the face!

Does this get better with the Complex aiming reticule as well?

The phone cam is so freaken annoying how it doesnt work 90% of the time.
So stupid of rockstar to have it connected to their website instead of being able to store on HDD... what were they thinking.

Anyways, Loving this game so much... dont think ive unlocked those hunting challenges yet...cant wait for that.

Ive just done the
torture scene mission
what things are left to unlock after that?

Also maybe because I havnt really gotten 'into' it, but I miss how your properties would leave cash at the front for you to pick up.

Yes I've played the game just not Trevor yet but I assume if I'm annoyed with Franklin already then it sounds like Trevor might not be great either. It's wonderful you love all 3 characters hopefully they grow on me I'm not impressed so far.

Yeah reinstall the game or something, this sounds like a corrupt install maybe.

I can do what without free aim and does it matter if you got gold legitimately if its never a challenge in the first place?

Auto-aim automatically designates the nearest target so I doubt you could, in the situation I described earlier, lock on to the guy at the back before the dude running in front. Free-aim means I don't have to wrestle with that. It was the same in MP3 and RDR, it always targets people I don't want it to at crucial times.

Did you do the shooting range free-aim? It is much more challenging to get 100% accuracy and a gold medal with FA on, believe me. Auto-aim negates any need for skill and I prefer when a game is challenging. Aiming being, you know, where the skill comes in.

That's why some us choose FA over AM.

I killed some campers after insulting them and the cops were on their way. They were two cop cars coming from both sides a mountainside and only a stream below me. I jumped in the stream and successfully escaped a two star chase.

What's different about the aiming while driving? It's exactly the same as GTAIV as far as I can tell. You aim with the camera, lb to shoot, etc.

GTA still doesn't appropriately populate cities. For obvious reasons, but I hope next gen means more people in an open world game.

Just read the iFruit app is coming to VITA. Spot on. I'm not one for phone gaming so this will be great for me and Chop.

EDIT: Link to announcement VITA bit is at the bottom

So I did the first heist last night where
you have to rob that jewelry store, I decided to go use plan A and go in loud.
It was crazy, I got such a rush from the whole thing.

Max Payne aiming in full effect. Opening is an improvement on past games in that the tutorial blended in more seamlessly with the narrative and gameplay but the game has not hooked me like Red Dead Redemption. I am only about an hour in .. it certainly seems solid but I'm not floored or anything.

How can I help out hikers? And weren't I supposed to be able to climb (not just run) the mountain?

I were underwhelmed by the first heist, especially reading how much praise they got in GTA IV. I hope those heists picks up later in the game.

Is there anyway to tell where you have to land a stunt jump? I keep doing the one on that bigass ramp by the airport but keep failing it miserably.

I played it some hours. My impressions:

The driving. It is a shame it didn't get the GTA IV system. But once you get the feeling, it is really fun. I don't like the steering sensitivity, it is too high. One little touch to the Left Stick and your wheel turns 90 degrees. But I love the break distance. It is not reallistic, but it makes the driving much easier. I don't like that they change from first person view to third person view when you shoot from the car.

The city. This is the most I look in GTA games. I know that every GTA map has a feeling that no other sandbox game can provide. And this time, they really raised the bar. The map is fantastic. The transit engineering is gorgeous. Maybe my only complain is that traffic lights last too long (sometimes I like to drive responsibly in GTA, I'm that crazy). It would be cool that it has an algorithm that makes you wait less.

The Shooting. Well, for me, the weak point in every GTA. This is no exception. At least now we have a melee button. But I feel this game needs a grenade button.

The water. I came.

Till now (I only have two characters) I don't have a problem with dialogs and such. The Franklin parts, that I see everybody is complaining, I feel it like an extension of GTA SA. And I like that. I found the Michael missions funny. It starts simple and one thing takes to another and boom! now you are in real trouble. All in all, I'm having fun with this game.

It's a challenge with free aim is what he's saying, with the auto-target or assist of course you could do it without free-aim, it's easier.

I installed this game on a USB 3.0 32Gb drive for the 360. Forced install disk is on the HDD and it runs pretty well. I haven't noticed any glaring flaws outside of the IQ being a lot less than what the trailers portrayed.

Really enjoying it though, about 5-6 hours in and it's easily my favorite GTA. Characters are solid, locations are diverse, and vehicles handle well.

They took a way a little bit of the weight of the cars so now it's kind of too easy to drive, they do steer a little quickly so I have to be careful but I enjoyed the 'boat' physics of GTA IV a bit more, when I did a 90 degree turn with e-brake and brake and did it perfectly, it was a thing of beauty, here it's par for the course.

Gunplay is significantly improved. I played free aim for all of it until I got to a certain warehouse shootout mission, It just wasn't working for me, switched back to free aim after that. Cover feels kind of janky at times, wonder if it's my controller (fairly new one) because sometimes he just won't go when I'm tapping the button.

Everything feels great altogether though, fantastic voice acting, great game ... not sure what people were on about with the cussing or dialogue, seems fitting to me.

The only thing that's really jarring is the IQ. You get used to it but it really is nothing like in the trailers IMO. What IS here is amazing though. This is probably one of the few games that I actually enjoy the nighttime.

I'm sorry but there are moments in this game that are breathtaking visually...especially when you're walking around and not driving.

I still haven't gotten to play much, but I am finding myself pretty impressed by the lighting. In a huge game like this, I don't expect good graphics. There are some IQ issues I could nag about, but the lighting is pretty damn impressive and the game overall looks way better than I expected it to.

You guys sure do play fast!

I am planning on scouring the entire map and doing whatever I can to not do missions, maybe try to nav the city sans map. I will know this map street by street, every shortcut.

Should help during these missions.

BTW I will take any money generation tips :)

Edit: It does take a lot of time to acclimate all the controls. I keep having to pause and check/

At the moment I'm just buying stock on things that have had a nice average but have fallen thru the floor. They can only go up yeah? I'm assuming if we hypothetically get a mission to do a heist at a chemical factory or something and a competitor is on the stock market, you buy stocks in the competitor. Rob, destroy the mission based company. Stocks for competitor goes up as they take all demand. You profit.
